but preschool is hard because you still poop in diapers, cry cause some kid bit you, be protective of your duplo blocks and not to mention, sitting in the corner.

i say preschool is pretty hard.

    Fixed. (^_^)V

Jaguar- Wrong forum to be looking for T5 competition buddy. I think MD is having weekly T5 gatherings again. I went there last saturday. You should come along.

And wtf is up with JC media? I heard everything was a 2 day event. I definatly would have gone if I had known DR was gonna be done in one day.

dude, how come you didn't tell me about md. you know i'm always looking to play tekken. whatever. after this c3 tourney, i think i'm going to pick up virtua fighter with the rest of everyone. tekken is pretty wack, especially in springfield. everybody plays a wacky character like roger jr., yoshimitsu, or christie. nobody plays a solid character and wins. tekken = wack.

yea, a tekken competitor competitor in the UGS richmond tourney(i think he placed 2nd) was even complaining to me about how bs tekken was

So i just played against indonesia's top 2 VF players.

I could stand my ground but their win ratio was higher than mine.

The number 2 plays a wolf similar to flash's, actually ALMOST identical in my opinion. however, he likes to 2g after getting frame trapped with 4k->FL p with sarah. after a while i started to notice this and gave him the 6pk check on him.

The number 1 plays Akira. That one was MUCH harder. I guess because i dont play against akira, but apparently this guy is number 1 in tekken in indonesia as well. He has great defense and for somereason i get frame trapped. like hell go for a jab and i block down against 2p, hell crouch dash away. If i back dash after 2p, hell hit me with that damn elbow. hes a relatively safe player and bulldoggs really well?

any tips from NYC or VA on how to fight against an akira? also does every hit on block from akira place the opponent at a disadvantage?

To be honest I didnt think you cared. I thought you only wanted to play tekken cuz you were really bored and didn't have anything else to do. Next time I go I'll give you a call if you feel that way. Besides it was a spur of the moment thing. Da law just called me and said "come over"

And please dont think VF is some magically balanced game compared to tekken (yes I realize I'm on a VF board). VF5 is just as balanced as T5DR. A lot of people can't give you good reasons why T5 is "trash" because those same reasons apply to other fighting games. So gimme a break man.

who the fuck plays roger jr. and yoshi at SF mall? One guy...and thats jeff. He's solid as fuck anyways. And hes a MD player. No one plays solid characters at SF mall? What the hell kind of excuse is that? Wojito plays a solid character and wins there. So does brian.

Anyways it's good that you're gonna pick up VF5. People are always willing to teach you in VF5 which is something the tekken community kinda sucks at...

Elfaz plays Roger and Paul plays a random Yoshi which I smoke on the rgular. and frankly I think Jeff is WAY underrated.
I told Jag's ass to come to SF and he complains about the "grimy" mall. We dont go cause of the mall, son. We go for the collective collaboration of the video gaming alumni as it has become a neutral meeting ground for rival factions. If they could lace the place up w/ an MvC2, CvS2, VF5 (tho that's an arm, a leg, and a testicle and a half to snag), and GG, that place would be fighter's paradise. [/size]

As far as arcades go SF mall is a pretty shitty arcade. The sticks/controller ports are broken half the time and they barely have any selection in games. Up until a few weeks ago their AC was broken so it was like playing in an oven. If it wasn't the only place around me that had T5DR/competition I wouldn't bother going. I probably get better practice playing at Jag's house or with the MD crew. Just because it's impossible to get pete to play serious.

Chinatown Fair is by the best arcade I have ever been to as far as competition/selection of games. THAT place is a fighter's paradise. They have like every Capcom/SNK game you could want to play PLUS they get random jap games like arcana hearts. I really envy the NY guys

Btw I think there are like 3 arcades in the US that actually have GG on arcade

This is true. I must say, Eddel has probably been the most encouraging player in the VA scene right now. He is willing to teach the game to anyone who wants to play. I, for one, am grateful that he is a nice guy. It shows via sessions at his house and his hospitality. Danny as well.

I could say the same for SC back in the day when misato and I still played.

Tekken hasn't been the same since the release of 5. But i will say the brian, eric and chiyeh taught me alot about that game for the 1 month i played.

Which is enough to infer a trend on video games. The trend being this: In the earlier stages of a new release, more experienced players on the title are willing to teach what they know. However as time goes on, less and less are willing to be "community engaging" until the next games. This normally affects games which have LARGE community for players.

However, I could say that there are two HUGE exceptions to this trend that can screw up my analysis.
    1. The enormous revisions on games. Evident with Tekken 5 having 3 revisions (5.0, 5.1, DR) and SCIII (Console and AE). I will not use VF5 as an example because:
    a. the community is smaller so in an effort to bring more appeal to the game, people are willing to teach.
    b. they have always had revisions from previous versions, which doesnt really have a big impact because of subpoint a.

    2. 2D fighters are kinda difficult to predict how it affects this trend. Street Fighter is one game that fits my trend as most people get their basic motions and movesets from street fighter (don't think so? i can debate this out). MVC2 has been out for a while, but there is so much going on in that game that it can be hard for new players to keep track of as there tends to be a high tier elite player society associated with that game. Guilty gear has revisions (reload, AC, et cetera) but im not sure as to how the community is in that game.

look, dude. that arcade really isn't great. the controls always fuck up and they never fix the sticks. the controller ports are busted up and they will never be replaced. they have asshole employees working there. i remember when the arcades were cool, where they actually fix shit and the workers give you free games. but springfield is just wack now. it's cool how everybody in the area gathers up and plays tekken, but they only go to springfield where the arcade store itself is shit. i liked going to the md gatherings. the md crew is always hype and competitive. va is so boring.
