why does akira have to be front and center on everything vf. i mean, he was ur default "ryu" when every game had to have a ryu. and he is the focal point of every vf cover, the poster on this link is his, but why? really he is one of the lamer character builds when u stop and consider he was ganked from SF. hell, he is even the vf5 load timer. i dont get it

 

hmm I always thought Akira was one of the coolest characters to emerge from any fighting game. He is a tough character to learn and his personality is a reflection of his difficulty. In VF5 he was more accessible to newcomers but in R he "seems" even more simple but nevertheless I always thought the elbows and shoulders were awesome.

Even with him being made more accessible, I still feel he's up there as the toughest character to begin with, simply because of how he is played. And even with the simpler execution, he still has some of the toughest combos and single execution moves in the game compared to the rest of the cast.

Duno, to me, Akira IS VF. He has a real simplistic beauty to him in how he is played. Simple yet complex, I guess. If any of that makes sense. Don't think I would choose anyone else to represent the series, especially not at this point. Even though the original cast from VF1 and even VF2 all hold huge iconic status with the series.

 

The red and white GIs for player 1 and player 2 were around looooooooong before street fighter 2 or even street fighter 1. Karate Champ was the first 1 on 1 fighter also with a white gi for player one and a red gi for player two.

assasin in a bathrobe does look ridiculous...certain characters seem to have stupid item shit...like clown faces and shyt...I havent seen a goofy looking Akira, Lei or Kage. I saw Kage wih afro but that was about it...is Dural still the boss in R? havent seen any vids of her

I think you know AM2's policy about the languages in VF games. English fot the Western characters and Japanese for the Asian characters.
This is not Tekken to have Korean, Japanese, Mandarin & English.
