I have the same idea with you Plague, and that's why I don't understand why Homestay chose low kick instead of double plam plus Koedo intended to block it!!! I assume Homestay has another wall combos starts with low kick and that can cause more damage.

The doublepalm isnt guaranteed. Not in 5ver.B, not in R I guess.

 

Yeah some characters seem to have a low that causes wall stagger which quite frankly is a bit stupid.

I think a match someone recently posted had Eileen doing a sweep at a weird angle at the wall and it caused a wall stagger then followed up with a nice 70-80 hit combo. Is it possible to struggle maybe? But it's probably very hard to do.

 

Come on guys what Homestay did in that vid is not new. I'm pretty sure a few movies on him using this tactic in vannilla 5 and R version A has been upped before....

most of the time when he used it though it was after guard break when opponent is at an angle to the way and defending on which side of Akira is to the wall he will do either 46P+K for wall splat then a big combo or he will do DLC into the wall after low kick for another big combo.

Really what amazes me is not that he chose low kick, but that Koedo knew it was coming.... that's not even yomi in my opinion that's just experience from playing against a lot of Akira players who probably use this or playing / watching Homestay a lot.

That's not what I'm questioning - this is...

I thought the double-palm was canned after 42P+G - no strict timing required - just enter 246P before it's too late. Is it different now? (Note I realize that it can be blocked, and I thought that was all up to the guy struggling.

Edit: I'm only emphasizing Reno's post because he is there and actually playing the game. Maybe the 42P+G follow-ups require timing in this version of R. I don't know.

 

Remember the super singlepalm? Do 42p+g then either dash forward or do nothing until after they finish struggling & 26p. You get the kuzushi singlepalm which crumbles on MC.

If you 42p+g (I know this works in evo...I think still in 5) then 6666666>k the single jump kick is the kuzushi sjk.

It stands to reason you can delay the kuzushi doublepalm too.

This is a good call imo. With it being such a ticky tacky series () it's good to make Lau players think a little.
