    Ok, we tried it out and I can say with certainty that it is NOT guaranteed in vanilla vf5. Here's what we've found:

    If the opponent tries to guard, crouch, or crouchdash, the backthrow will hit. But it will only hit if it is very slightly delayed. For me, the easiest way to get this delay is to not buffer the 270 motion, but rather start it first frame once wolf has recovered. That adds about 2-5 frames delay. If you buffer the 270, the throw "hit" comes during the opponents recovery, and thus does not connect as a throw.

    However, even with proper timing the opponent can still /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif out of it. As I suspected, this causes a clash. Even if the 270 is buffered, it will still clash. I tried a catch throw during it as well and it was not fast enough (also as suspected).

    So there it is. A throw is not guaranteed off low punch cut/switch. My recommendation would be toe kick stunner, as it can connect backwards if the opponent tries to crouch, and will beat out any attack from +15.

    Haha that's funny. Wasn't there a way to get lau's hair longer & shorter in Vf2 through mirror matching? I remember some guys at the arcade i used to go to near Northeastern University used to show me random stuff. Damn I miss that arcade /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif I was like 5.

    Interesting thing about this match is that babitch's video description says that he ate some nasty reverse nitaku, but while watching the match I never saw any sign of that.... until the very last exchange that ends the match.

    Usually, one would think that a normal throw would beat a catch throw, but this time the reverse held true. I know that they've changed Goh's tsukami in R, particularly in the way it connects. But could this be evidence that it now enters a crouching state, hence causing high throws to miss?

    Apparently Goh's new catch throw is now a special mid. Hence why it beat the throw attempt. It will now catch you even if you CD backwards...

    Really strong and safe on block.

    Hanging out with sin#, he told me you do anything besides guard high or guard low vs gohs new catch throw, you are screwed.

    If you don't lol at the the throw escapes in this, i don't know what will make you laugh. Mirror match TEs are the funniest sounding thing in the world.

    Sorry, i don't get it. What are you talking about?
    1)66P+G become crouch executed in VF5R, => not crushing by Stand Normal Throws (in VF5 wa opposite).
    2)But what about "changing Goh's tsukami connect"? Do you mean that after stand sabaki(P+K) when press P+G Goh is getting into tsukami grab across the CROUCH phase, => is not punishing by Stand Normal throw and High strikes during this move?! It's dramatic increase the "Sabaki->Tsukami move" 's strength in VF5R!
