Ah I see, thanks...Odd command though...

Well, when you put it like that, it makes alot of sense...Even so, I still hate seeing long, "Bounce" to wall-splat combos in VF...

Maybe its a timing issue, the character begins to turn around and manages to get into sideguard position in time.

It was interesting to see Kage do 6P+G and then 2P to force nitaku... hmmm.

VF5R has a lot of things going for it but one of the things that I love the most how they made TFT and GS throw towards Kage and Wolf's front.

This is a very good change, imo, due to the lameness of beating a Wolf/Kage player, outhinking/outplaying them, you got all your life, they're almost dead and then...

GS/TFT and they win the match =/

That use to be the most lame finish in my book. Wolf's GS not so much bc you couldn't do it from the center of the ring but TFT has been lame for years. Rewarding the wrong person, again, imho.
Looks like VF5R rewards the aggressor more instead of the turtles or one-throw players.

Jacky new throw is funny as hell. Amazing how he folds your arms and tap your shit 3 times lol!

I think that's pretty spot on. Seems like a recent trend with fighters, save Tekken. Placing more focus on being aggressive/active (not mindlessly, but prevent people from holding block and sitting back all day). That and making games more accessible to new players, bridging the gap between top players and scrubs, while keeping it clear cut that better players are still better. I'd say SC and VF5R are very good examples of these two forward trends.

At first it was a little disheartening, almost like they're dumbing it down like Manji always complained about lol. But really, there's still tons of technical stuff that scrubs will not be doing. The more it changes, the more it really stays the same. Basically.

I know a lot of gamers who are intrested in fighting games only for their combos and it seems like everyone got great extended cool looking combos now. Lets just hope Sega brings this home

Never blame GS and TFT; ring out is there for a reason man
you deserved to keep being one throw finished or stagger-attacked whole game for 100+ dmgs if you are not wise enough to sort it out within 3 games
    Also don't forget Akira's 46p+g -> 6_p,6_p,6_p,6_p,6_p....

RO from mid stage on great wall is rather ridiculous. Normally I;d say 'stop bitching' but there are somethings that the TFT can do that is just too much.

    1. From the center of the ring, what TFT combo will ring you out?

    2. GS/TFT going forward not backwards actually STRENGTHENS ring out potential. If it goes backwards, you can always avoid the R.O. possibility by backdashing -- in other words, if you do get R.O. it's your own damn fault for not backdashing. Now that the GS/TFT goes forwards, if you are being pressured to the edge of the ring, there's nothing you can do except focus on defending correctly. This is why in VF5 Akira is a better R.O. character than Kage, and why I prefer half-fence stages when playing against Akiras.

I disagree Ice-9 it doesn't strengthens Ringouts. Basically the attacker has a less chance of being RO now then the passive player. It's stupid watching a match where a Kage player back dashes towards the edge of the ring and the opponent back dashes away from him to prevent being RO'ed. It makes more sense for the Kage player to Fight his way to his opponent to get the RO. When fighting Akria I like to OM towards his side to try and reposition myself away from the edge however, when playing a Kage or Wolf its pointless to OM backside towards the edge sure you wont have to worry about the throw but then you have other moves you have to deal with (in situations when you are very close to the edge).

It all depends on what type of player you are playing against honestly though. I feel for the passive player Kage new TFT will be better against them as for the strong pressure opponent Kage old TFT is better

OK, I stand semi-corrected. That combo won't R.O. from the center of the ring (it's about a dash towards the edge from the center) but it does carry a very far distance.

Denkai, I guess the more correct statement is "the forward throw change strengthens RO potential if you play an attacking style" as this now removes the possibility of the opponent simply backdashing to avoid a R.O.

Also, fighting against an Akira on the edge of the ring is super scary. He has so many tools to ring you out: /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, catch throw, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, dodge attack...you gotta play Danny who is a mad expert at ringing people out with Akira.

Yeah, the new TFT really benefits offensive players which is why I like it. The old one rewarded turtlers which sucked. Nothing worst then chasing someone only to get RO. I know it's my fault for chasing them in the first place, but I play the game to fight, not back up and wait for them to come to me. I'm too impatient.

I wish I could play Danny and you again too. How about we trade sparring partners the Akria RO'er Danny for the he will def hit you with counter hit knee with Jeffery Adam
