Its a bit higher in R ice-9 but then again most characters got a upgrade in terms of Dmg. R in general is a game where combos do insane amounts of damage..(I seen a replay where Jeffery did a 150 dmg combo against the wall in R not possible in in the current VF5) This is like VF2 all over again Imagine if SF4 had the same dmg SF2 had that wouldn't be fun at all.

Second Round http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKdYJaUKlf4 Jeffery against Jacky

And yes its vs the computer but note this is not a combo where you can struggle out of and some may say the Kick rarely hits but it can and the fact that its possible is just stupid

Looking at that video again, if that combo can't be side-guarded out of, it would mean that 6k+g now gives at least +18 on side hit (used to be +15 on MC) and that the goofy punch now gives +16 on side hit (used to be +9 on MC). That sounds kinda off base to me, or there's something I don't understand about side guard.

Even if it is a true combo, as jacky would you rather play vs 5r jeff that has highly situational 150dmg wall combos and a normal dmg knee, or 5 jeff that can do over 100pts to you from a counterhit knee anywhere in the ring? I haven't seen any knee combos in R as damaging as the old double bounce (which is a good thing, don't get me wrong), even on CH against lightweight opponents.

As a Jeffry player, I can say I always land /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif on an opponent with his back to a wall.

Do you know those situations when you play against a poor AI and it doesn't struggle out of many things? Well this is it.
What I remember is that the "stagger stick" never shows up for CPU side. And think whatever you want but IMO the combo can be staggered out of after the second hit (wall), as there is no way that such animation (looks exactly like heavy wall hit animation) would not be a heavy wall stagger. Therefore, I think that this combo is not a true combo.
That still doesn't change the fact that 100 - 120 dmg combos are not such a rare thing in 5R, though you need a wall for most of them.

their is no stagger stick if you get hit with that move Greiver..Keep in mind KOD once jacky got hit with the goofy punch he hit the wall which means more frames of disadvantage

I like VF but I'm no fool I criticize something when I see things that I don't like. Look at that Taka Vs Jeff vid again and see how easy it is for JEff to land 118 points of dmg without wall and yes theirs no stagger stick out of that combo either.

No way there's no stagger stick after hitting the wall. 'Cause I'm not talking about the kick.

Whenever there's matches vs CPU, the CPU never has a visible stagger icon.

Yeah I know, that's what I wrote. I just think that there is a stagger situation after hitting the wall and thus the combo is escapable.

Yeah, it quite visually clear that it's a wallstagger. But, that doesn't mean it's escapable. I mean, is there anyone that can struggle out of Aoi's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (wallstagger) > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif in VF5 and not get crumbled?

Escapable or not, that shows what Jeffry is capable of doing. It is a fact that you will not likely pull something like that off, against skilled players, but your opponent will always have in mind that you can do it.

Unless the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif side turns the opponent (which I doubt) then that combo started from a side counter hit, which is pretty rare to do with such a slow move IMO.

150pts damage on paper sounds excessive, but due to the conditions required it didn't bother me at all.

In VF5 (pre-R) Kage could do 128pts with a mid kick reversal near a wall, but how often did that occur?
