Light Weight Characters better beware when fighting Taka. I can't be mad because Sumo wrestling is a sport of knocking opponents out of the ring lol!!!!
Beside that Blaze player was thinking. Why would you back up to the center of the ring when you had Taka Under pressure?

    Specific Answer:

The archive for VF5R item win poses is this very thread.

Use the search. Click advanced. Select the VF.TV entry in the left menu. Type the words item win pose in the Keyword Search Terms field. Select the in body radio button. Make the date range 2 years. Click Submit

Note: If you expand the date range to 4 years, you'll pick up non-R item poses (VF5 Ver. D).

    Big Ganryu(KA) vs Kashin(TA)

    Very intense match!

Taka doesn't exactly lack ring out options with his back to edge either.

This match (and well, any Kage match pre-R) is why I don't really like ring outs, they're like VF's version of a comeback mechanic, just like Ultras or Rage.

^Agreed, I feel this way about 50%+ wall combos on tiny stages where you can't avoid wall damage as well.

Personally I like small stages, ringouts and walls are just a symptom of them. Without walls, there would be ringouts. Now the ability to push someone so easily to the wall/edge is irritating.

Kage used to have ALL day to figure out which variation he could use to take you to the edge of the ring.

ok but you had him under pressure regardless. Theres no going around it. Obviously ill take the lesser of 2 evils.

Pretty sure Akira has a few ways to get ring out from center of the stage too.

He also had a major lead in life. Dashing away from obvious ring out danger IS not only the lesser of two evils but also the only smart thing to do. Taka has both regular throws and catch throws that can lead to ring out, some even nets him a ring out if the throw is escaped if I remember correctly. That it backfired at the other end later is another story.

If I had that kind of an health bar advantage against Kage in VF5, I backdash the hell away from the ring edge too, doing otherwise is just unnecessary risktaking when you have such an obvious advantage at winning the match without maintaining the pressure.

Either or ITs still a lesser of 2 evil. Catch throw or not. if i go out the ring TE'ing something it will be on my feel not my back. Also im not backdashing away from Kage in VF5. most dudes will lose thier minds trying to Ring you out so you can basically tee off on them long as you don't forget your TE's.

Ring out is what makes Kage the character he is though. Agreed about the narrow stages though, I'm all for stage changes and such but the narrow ones are a bit silly. I like the fact the stages are different too as the strategy changes with them.
Do people really want VF to have infinite stages? (VF3 had an infinite stage right?)

However they really need to do something about P+G throw escapes but then you could make the argument you shouldn't have put yourself in the situation in the first place.

About Kage I'm definitely running away all it takes is a well placed 0f throw and your going out. This even happens to the best of players! But the choice is yours [IMG]

Shit Kage is so much more than a ring out character. He has literally every tool PLUS a brain dead ringout game.

Have at it. Watch a bunch then post your favorites with a quick explanation for each. I do it occasionally to keep the topic active during periods where no tournament footage has surfaced.

His punishing game isn't so hot. But since punishing is becoming less and less important, it doesnt matter that much.

Ps. Infinite stages suck. On the other hand, I think some stages in R are too small. Jeneric is right in that ringouts are VF's version of a comeback mechanic, and that isnt too bad in itself, but the trick is finding the balance between too much of it (too easy ringouts) to none at all. For instance I think that SC4 has too easy ringouts because majority of stages are without walls. Tekken has no ringouts whatsoever, but offers massive comeback potential with wallcombos. I think comeback mechanics are nice to have. Hell, I still remember some memorable comebacks from as far as arcade vf3 times. I think its some of that 'flash' and excitement that VF needs.
