Sweet, Akiras' new right hook used in a combo.

And them Homestay matches were cool. Peices of those brought me back to when Flash made that quiz and said "Very skilled Wolf player, and failed low punch bottle cut" in the same sentence, a couple people laughed or were confused like as if something like this could never happen. And here Homestay fails a SpoD (second time in Rnd.3 Lion was backturned so i'm not counting that) and failed Akiras' new gaurd break combo, didn't even get the second hit in.

Which is just more proof that just because a player is highly skilled, doesn't mean they will never ever miss an input. Unless you (in general) think Homestay isn't a skilled player of course.

 

The combos the Pai player was using were excellent and the match was even better.Great find Myke.

You mention about the new gaurd break combo, what does exactly it work? Does that mean as long as someone block and Akira can break it by using that new combo no matter low or high?

 

Is there any link to that Arcadia?

 

I'd like to know this too lol Guessing, I would say it only breaks high gaurds and just hits them if they're crouching like his current move in VF5. I know it looks like Lion was crouched when he got hit with that move, but it could be safe to say he tried to stand up at the last second to block the possible mid attack. Or maybe even (I really don't think so but could be possible) it makes them stumble if they are blocking low but it won't let you finish the execution, and makes em stumble so you don't lose advantage like + + + does in VF5 (not sure, but it feels like you lose adv. when doing that move on a crouching opponent).

EDIT: Yet i'm sure i'm only saying things you already know or can see for yourself.

Maybe Jeneric or Reno could tell us exactly how it works. For now, i'm just guessing it works/has the same properties as VF5's does.


And for anyone reading my original post, I meant Shining Wizard, not low punch bottle cut. I don't even know what low punch bottle cut is lol, I remember the announcers saying it though and it sounded right hahah.

 

Akira's new guard break is a 17 frame high attack and to my knowledge the followups will only work on guardbreak, not on hit. That's just a logical guess though, god knows it's VF5R, anything is possible.

 

I posted a vid in this thread (page 157) where at the end of the match it hits with yellow flash.

damn that wolf was a beast... also I really like this new embed size. It's really nice on these near sighted eyes of mines and I can actually watch it without reaching for my glasses or squinting. Hopefully it's a keeper!

Is there a way to disabled seeing embedded YouTube videos? If I want to watch a match I'll click the link. I don't like going into threads and having my browser slow down to load a video that I have no interest in watching.
