VF5R console - feature requests

My biggest complaint with the 360 version of VF5 is how control schemes work. The current system is horrible, the controls should be tied to the gamer profile being used.

The way it should work is that I sign in, I set my controls, and those are the controls that I use whether I'm the first or second player. If a second player wants to play, they sign in and use the controls set to their profile.

As it is now, I have to go to the menu and set my controls to something the 2nd player prefers. When I'm done I have to set those controls back to what I like, or my controls will be screwed up when I join an online game.

There's no reason for control schemes to work that way.

Other suggestions:

Have a system in place that allows players to use the same costume as the same character. Have the game check if the two costumes are sufficiently different and if they are then let them both use the same costume. If two players are using Akira's costume A, yet one guy is blue and the other is green then they should both be able to use costume A.

Every single item should be available for purchase from the item store. Prices should be reasonable and consistent. The current system is crazy:

Do you want a red shirt? 6000G.
Do you want a blue shirt? 23000G
Do you want a green shirt? Can't buy it in the store, you have to unlock it. Good luck unlocking the item you actually want!

Re-organize the move lists so that command training isn't so overwhelming to new players. Why is something as easy as Jeff's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif immediately followed by something as intimidating as /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif?

- A console version at all :p
- Online for PS3.
- Evo style training mode. Including the comboes in the move list.
- The ability to get items easier in VS, online or off.
- A stat for cable pulling.
- Have your button settings saved to your character like it was in VF4.
- A hug.

// Names/PSN/Xbox Live Gamertag displayed in saved replays. Or organize replays with date and time.

// Lobby system, with options to limit amount of players.

// Online Item Matches.

// Online Stage select, or randomizer so we don't play the same stage 20 matches in a row over and over...

// Ranked matches with stats for wins, losses and disconnects like in DOA4.

// Better training mode. I know lots of people have been pushing for this, I wanna see it happen.

// VF.TV with the ability to upload and share replay saved data with friends. Kinda like Halo or something like the arcade version where you have 3 or 4 slots to save replays and to upload more you have to remove existing ones.

Broken record here on my part, but these are the things I would love.

-Record option in Dojo (as mentioned many a times).

-Perhaps some easier way to transfer characters to consoles to make using customizable characters easier. Though, I realize on the 360 that this is tough due to profiles being attatched to gamertags.

-I was a huge fan of the little unlockables. Like wallpapers and things which were in VF4:EVO. I would really like to see that stuff again.

-Multiple options for each stage. Like, have the VF5 option and VF5R option available for each. Maybe even same for soundtracks too? Not sure.

-Have the challenges brought back from VF4:EVO's quest mode and put into this. I loved all the extra stuff to do while you go through quest mode.

-I REALLY LIKE djtortilla's idea of being able to directly upload to youtube. Really, any online medium would be cool, even a VF.TV type based thing would be incredible. But yeah, if we were given the option to take a saved replay and upload it online, that would impress not only me, but anyone who plays online games.

-Cuz's idea on saving button layout to profile (I would love this).

That would be my ideal wishlist.

But most importantly, I just want this on console release. Badly.

-Make this both PS3 and 360, online as well.

--More advertisement of this game before it comes out. They did better last time with VF5 (I saw commercials and ads on gamefaqs) but Sega (and US!) need to push this game waaaaayyyy more. I think the visual AND musical changes that have been made with
VF5 ver. D and VF5R, definitely help make this game more mainstream so its time to SHOW that to EVERYONE. Once you taste VF5 you will never go back to anything else.

i agree with you on that. sega has stepped up abit. but what they need to do is make monthly or weekly online and offline stuff. kinda like what tekken DR does on the psp. go thought vs, time attack, mini games. just more of a vf twist to this. i thought it was great that it made you play all the modes as a whole rather in parts. and in the end you would get like 300,000,00 gold or abit less. but i'm not sure.

If I could play VF5 to VF2's soundtrack, I would never need to buy another game ever again.

With the 360 you can play custom soundtracks when playing VF5 why dont just rip all the VF music onto the hardrive and listen to them while you play. If VFR comes to either 360 or PS3 (wich now also have custom soundtrack options) it should still be in there.

There was a match that actually had original 5 music in the R stage.

1) Better training mode (like vf4 evo)
2) Youtoube add on.

3) and maybe a guest mode for the online matches... but with the youtube add on it seems superfluous. But on doa it's possible.. and other player talk when the 2 fighters are doing the match o_o maybe am i asking too much?

Items.

More items.

Items in the game.

Items I have to download.

I just have this thing about items.

Also, make sure I stay in Quest Mode and have the propensity to launch with KNEE.[/size]

Show proof and just maybe i'll post my thoughts. AM2 is not watching... they could care less at this current time. I highly doubt they are taking time out of there busy schedule of finishing up R for the arcade to poke around in here.

bah why am I getting so worked up when I know you are just BS'ing. I guess I wanted VF5R on 360 more than anyone else. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

I will repeat some issues but Im gonna list my wishlist:

FIX-it issues:

- Have button settings of a controller saved to your gamer profile, no matter what side you are on. Also if youre visiting a friends machine with your profile or in a tournament, the button settings of your controller could be made automatic this way when you log the profile in.

- Easier and faster way to log in gamer profile, and ability to plug in and remove a controller. And make it so that these two things dont mess everything up like they do now. Im not sure if the bug that forces you to exit to dashboard every time you log in a gamer profile is still present, if it is, fix it.

- remove animations from XBL UI... please. It just takes up time. Or make animated windows optional. In general UI's should be streamlined for a fast-paced game like VF.

- make saving replays a free option available to everyone, not just logged in gamerprofile. When you save replay you would only need to choose where to save it.

- Remove the connection between replay files and gamer profiles for easier sharing. Currently they cant be shared cause replay files are tied to gamer profile

- When selecting button configuration, allow controller to set button config to itself. Currently you have to use controller 1 to set button config for controller 2 etc.

- To think of custom controllers, you could also make the config UI similar to tekken and guilty gear, where you press a button on your controller and THEN decide what command to bind to it. This basically means that pressing a button will highlight it in the config screen. This way you dont have to know whether that specific button is triangle, square, or whatnot, or will know what it is when its highlighted.

- (important) Ability to deny challenge in ranked online. If making it like this is considered an issue, it could be made restricted, like that you can only deny couple challenges per 24 hour period or something. Or make it available only if latency is too bad. Currently I'd consider one bar of latency as 'too bad'.

- (Important) record mode to record dojo opponent movements.

- Ingame tutorials about basic techniques to dojo. similar to training trials of VF4E

- Apart from above issue, ranked online functions ok, do not create the lobby system for it. Lobby system could be added to player match side though.

nice-to-have issues:

- Ability to share replay files over the internet with another gamertag, using p2p connection.

-Ability to delete replay files INGAME from memory card or 360 hardrive. Currently they pile up and removing unnecessary ones is a hassle.

-Ability to organise large amount of replay files better.

- more items! (possibly make it more in line with the arcade version ^^ )

- Yakuza tattoos for Akira ^^

- Have 'lag' as a reason to avoid a player

- When saving online replays, include the gamertags of the players.

- ingame tournament mode for players, single elimination and/or round robin with the ability to easily add gamer profiles to it, or enter names. (Oh well this might be too much.. ) In essence: have the game organise the tournament after you have entered the player names, the game sets the match up and tells who fights who etc. Maybe possible to have CPU opponents as 'fillers'.

EDIT: I just realized most of this was xbox stuff. If you consider things for Sony, dont make same mistakes.

You can already do that. Turn down the BGM to zero, and play the VF2 music from another source.

Mister: There would have to be a format that would have to upload to Youtube (Which you spelled wrong), so YT would have to change to suit. I doubt it. So it's with the good old video recorder for us.

Manjimaru: How are they going to fit it in 8GB of X360 DVD-9?
