Then why don't you complain about why there no tournaments in the east coast or anywhere else but you choose to be a stickler for 75 cents games. I mean most street fighter tournaments entry fees are 20 dollars all together and this one is only 10. Also most arcade games cost a dollar to play anyway(beside the crane game at the grocery store). How about this when I see you in California the first game can be on me buddy.

In Japan, it costs 100 yen per play or 2 plays. The exchange rate currently is ~ $1.30.

The event is a joint cooperation between Sega, South Town Arcade, and Iplaywinner. I assume South Town Arcade is providing space for people to play without much compensation by Sega: except providing cabinets and T-shirts.

Me: @southtownarcade Thanks for reply. Is the pre-tournament casual play also 75 cents per play or does the $5 venue fee cover that?

South Town Arcade: @Akai_JC Casuals are charged per play; venue fee covers the tournament (cabs will be on free play from tourney start until SEGA leaves)

At 7pm till when Sega leaves = free play. Less people show up, more time for them to play the game! A lot of people show up, less time to play the game, but good for tourney [IMG]!

no I know, and believe me I think everyone can organize as they want to but I would have loved to see free play for the event not just the tourney. up front (and larger) fee paying for it either by day or for both casuals and tournament.

That's just me. and I'm not going due to the short notice not the price.

Yeah, that is life. Honestly, I would not recommend people spending $600 for a ticket to play games one night or something.

The event is not the most convenient for out of town people, but for locals (that just casually happens upon the game and want to give it a try or two) the pay per play most likely works out better.

I have zero problem with Southtown charging 75 cents for normal arcade operation.

However, I do have a problem with them charging for pre-tournament casual play because it is more than obvious that the pre-tournament play will be used for the tournament players to get familiar with the game.

    btw
    my total cost =
    $140 for the flight
    $150 for hotel
    Train ride cost
and now this added play cost that should have been brought up when the announcement was originally made.

If I would have known it probably would have changed my mind for even going.

    Just saying

Are they still going to stream the other tourneys?

Most likely, since the event is a joint operation with Iplaywinner (fighting game streamers). The other tourneys were listed on South Town Arcade website. Except for that, it has not been publicized much. I assume a lot of the questions will be answered during the first event.

Brisal - I hope you have a lot of fun at the event for the investment you put for travel/stay! (no sarcasm intended)

My bad yo I honestly thought Dave or Adam was in charge of making this happen. I'm ready to do my part. We should have had that setup months ago.

Not sure how many people were already planning or looking at the later tournament dates at Southtown Arcade. Iplaywinner just posted info on their site and the March date is different from the one on Southtown Arcade website.

    Iplaywinner Tournament Schedule

    3.1: February 10th
    3.2: March 16th
    3.3: April 27th
    3.4: May 25th
    3.5: June 15th

April or May sounds good. Hopefully they realize that people didn't appreciate the lack of notice or free-play on the machine for the tourney or whatever.

I hope the turn out on the tournament is fantastic guys. rock that stream and let people know that VF is a worthwhile time/play investment!

I'm not trying to make a commercial but I wanted to let you all know something (I trust the other mods will make any changes to this post they feel are necessary).

Dennis has been fantastic and allowed me to ship him samples of my protein/fruit and energy line for you guys to try! our barz have just (Finally) come off the line but we are shipping the sample sizes for you to try. they are 7.5 grams of real food, nutrient dense and they taste amazing. honestly, I think you guys will be impressed.

However! I really want honest feedback so please, please, if you are coming to this event try the chewz and let me know what you thought.

I am shipping two versions. a "starburst" (overwhelmingly this is the feedback we get) flavoured protein and fruit chew and an Espresso Berry Chew (for those that need some kick but don't need the awful aftertaste of coffee).

We are gluten free, peanut free, Kosher Certified and only sweetened with Honey and Apple Juice. clean, delicious, with best in class protein and ingredients to keep you healthy, and playing longer! [IMG]

if you like what you sample, why not come to my site and make a purchase using this code: IGOTNEXT you will receive 15% off of your purchase when using that code.

I am accruing a minimum of 15% of purchases using that code for tournament and community support initiatives. As Rodney pointed out in another thread I am working with him to sponsor some great initiatives in NYC when FS drops and my ultimate goal is to create a sponsorship opportunity within the entire VF community while supplying clean food nutrition.

Hi guys. If anybody needs housing, you are welcome at my place.

It's not the most comfy and my place isn't the roomiest so I can't house a bunch of people, but let me know if needed.

As GE mentioned above, I'll bring the sample for everyone tomorrow. GE, I'll let you know when I receive it.

Btw, I think it's time for anyone who can show up to sign here. I mean it's not that a big gathering but to realize how many people will participate in advance is helpful. So far Brisal and Shirt have confirmed, anyone else not from Norcal?

001 and I are planning to grab something eat before heading to the Southtown Arcade, so if there anyone interested, we can go together.
