So I left LA Sunday evening and landed in Sydney Tuesday morning, completely missing Monday due to the time difference. The plane touched down a little after 6 AM and I was back in the office working by 9 AM.

After a long flight, and long day at work, doing a mountain load of laundry, I'm finally settling down to catch up on stuff here and there.

There's so much I'd like to say, reminisce and share with everyone right now but my brain has pretty much gone to sleep and the rest of me is slowly, but surely, following.

So for now, while I can, I just wanted to express how wonderful, awesome, and amazing the Pre-Launch Party was. It was above and beyond my expectations, and seeing the fighting game community come together in the way it did to celebrate this game we've been so passionate about was humbling and inspiring. I feel deeply honoured to have been a part of it.

On a more personal level, I want to express my deepest gratitude to L_A for his hospitality, and frequent text messages whenever VFDC went down [IMG] I also want to say it was great catching up with many friends, old and new, but I'm bummed that there were others I never got a chance to personally meet. Hopefully there'll be a next time.

The biggest disappointing was that it was way too short, and that it had to eventually end. But it leaves me with great hope that if we continue down this path, then EVO is going to be nothing short of spectacular, and I'd be a fool to miss it.

      I <3 this community.

I said this offline but it bears repeating: L_A is a consummate host. He and his wife were completely selfless in the way they opened up their home and resources to one and all. I definitely owe L_Aa debt of gratitude.

L_A, if you ever need a life taken you need but 'give a man a name'

What an honor it is to be part of this community. To be thrown a smashing party by SEGA. To go to the event and not recognize half the people there (a sign of great things to come). To go to the event and recognize half the people there (nothing like a VF reunion). To fight Chibita in person and smile together with a handshake afterwards. To have Level|Up stream VF to the world. To see Myke again because SEGA flew him in. To meet Tricky for the first time. To have Dennis0201 and PineTree drive to my house. To enjoy an afternoon at L_A's place on Sunday. To wish it was all still happening. To realize that IT IS HAPPENING NOW!

To get to play Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown.

I implore you all... Buy the game. Buy all the items. Play the game. Learn The System. Become a beast. Crush everyone in your path. Get your friends involved. Level up together. Watch the streams. BROADCAST THE STREAMS. Post your thoughts. Build hype. Throw parties. Run tournaments. Make tutorials. Respect other games. Respect other players. Respect online play. Respect offline play. Be professional in your conduct. You are the ambassadors. You are the am-bad-ass-adors.

Make it fun (inspired by THEWALL). When Akira does KNEE - scream "KNEE!" When Jacky says YEAAHHH - you say "YEAAAHHHH!" When Vanessa does her ground stance - you say "Sexy Pose!" (seriously - it's sexy). You've seen the JuiceBox Abel ultra dance. Go make your own!

In the coming years, I will guard-break you all into oblivion. You will love every second of it.

      3P+K (WALL) SPoD (WALL) KNEE!

It's really nice to meet everyone at the pre-launch party!

Big shoutout to LA, Myke, and Shirt! These three were the souls of this entire party! Thanks for the contributions!

Plague, thanks for hosting again, next time please watch out to do ET(tire)EG on the freeway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have so much to say that it's probably going to take too long to get it all out. I'll just keep it brief. Meeting all the faces that I've either played online, had talked with on this forum, and the familiar ones like Shag was awesome.

The party was just unbelievable! Having a chance to play everyone offline was a blast. I got a chance to successfully raw zenk throw Fuudo which will forever be a source of joy in my heart.

Can't wait until the next time we all get a chance to fight together.

Plauge and his wife were the best hosts ever.

It was good fun getting to talk with you and the other person who was using eileen at the event. She is totally a different animal now, less monkey and maybe more chimpanzee. I was checking out some of her combos from the eileen FS combos video and man they look like they put you in some nasty situations.

Finally got back. What awesome event! Got to meet Flash, Zero chan and probably other fellow VFDC members at the casual stations. But every time I asked someone on the stations if they post on VFDC they didn't know what I was talking about. Must of been a lot of non VFDC members there too I guess.

Anyway look forward to meeting more of you guys at EVO.

If one of the Japanese players die from a dart to the neck just before playing LA at EVO you know what happened [IMG]

I was seriously blind when I was watching the stream live. I watched different parts of it again and I can still get excited watching it and feel the hype from the people who were there!
I really wonder why I thought anyone ever looked bored.

Hmm, Alex Valle doesn't think that the event was a hit? And I didn't know Nightwolf was in this game! [IMG]

It was such a wonderful thing to see you all once more, and for all the new faces. I'm so glad I was a part of this (historic?) event for the US VF scene. Let's go hard for EVO and I can't wait to see everyone again for the next Socal gathering? What about NYG!?!?!?!
