I had fun. Glad everyone made it out. I was pleasantly surprised that this is what the greater VF community looks like.

The game is exactly what I thought it would be.

Shout out to the guy wearing the Batman hoodie, I didn't get his name.

Can anyone who attended the event please post their impressions on the new Hori VF5FS Stick? I'm still on the fence, but the fan boy in me is saying go pick one up. Thanks.

It's a RAP with a slightly different (arguably better/worse) layout and VF art. Not much more to it, really,

For anyone that couldn't make the event, I hope you enjoyed the stream. Sega, Levelup, Iam8bit know how to throw a party. and I couldn't be more grateful to Gerald, Alex Lee, Mai, Alex Valle, Shidosha, Myke, and everyone that made this happen. VF, and our community deserves this kind of attention and I was very happy to be witness to a truly historic event. Of course, big thanks to Fuudo and Chibita, they were really classy and patient.

The entire event was unreal and I ended up watching more than getting in front of the machines the way I likely should have but it was a really amazing opportunity to just soak up information and tap into the community energy like nothing I've ever experienced before.

The stream chose some bad camera angles which was a real shame because when you watch the event you just cannot get a real sense of the crowd. They kept cutting to the least busy part of the entire room (oddly enough, the open bar [IMG] ) and it really doesn't show how crowded and hopping the place was. Sega has pulled out all of the stops, they see us and they are choosing to be present. I hope people can put the past behind them and just focus on this fantastic and unprecedented support.

Get behind the game, support your local community, build and nurture your scene because 6 months down the road we're going to need everyone's passion to keep up our end of the deal.

Thanks SEGA. you are doing amazing things.

Pretty sure that's 001 to the right of you and Zerochan, no idea about the guy behind him.

I was wondering about exactly that. The stream was great to watch, but the place didn't feel particularly alive... The women with probably no knowledge of the game were seemingly all stuck in a corner and that's where the camera pointed, so we kept seeing pretty faces who appeared to be bored and wondering what they were doing there...
It's good to know it was all better than what I could assume from the stream.

I only remember seeing Sile pai and Zerochan on the stream, they've both played FS before, I don't know where you got the impression they were bored either, we were watching the same event right? [IMG]

Joanna Yun (old school vf/sf player) was there and got akiras new special pretty consistently after about 30 mins of practice. That is pretty cool imo

Damn, you quoted me and now I'm cursed to sound like a sexist forever!

Just to clarify, I was not saying that girls can't play, I just assumed most of them (Except Zero Chan and Sile Pai, who I know both play the game) were all somebody's girlfriend and were eventually asked to all gather in front of the camera just for that.

      Please don't lynch me. [IMG]

DUDE! I remembered what I put for my username! I normally use other gaming handles, these days. And "Registered on: 07/21/01 10:01 AM" <-- holy crap, Myke, you kept the forum information for that long??

It was nice to play with Akira, again, for a bit, before everyone flooded in at 8. Did I look bored on the stream?? I don't think I took my eyes off the big screen for more than 2 seconds except to look at the monitor the competitors were staring at. To be honest, I don't think we even (or, at least, I did not) notice the stream camera pointed at the players which included us in the field of vision. And siLEpai was not bored, at all. I loved Chibita's style of play. He picked up on his mistakes within 1-3 sets. And, how old is Fuudo? He looks 12.

Event was fun. It was cool meeting the other VFDC crew, and GG's to the ones that I played. Shoutouts to the open bar [IMG].

Only 2 1/2 weeks away. IT COMES!

Akai the pictures came out great. Btw that's me on the bottom right next to Renzo. So cool to meet some of the OG vfdc'ers.

Tricky good to meet u and talk some Eileen ideas. We both agree that she is an almost entirely different beast in FS. And great play against Fuudo considering it was your first time with FS. We didn't get our mirror match since it was late and Sega started packing up. I'm sure we'll get the chance soon when game comes out.

Geoffrey aka chefboy thanks man your pointers will help out and you know we gonna get f'd up off drank and medical come EVO lol.

001 looking forward to that shirt haha...and no I didn't get my revenge yet from STA no matter what you say!

I still haven't watched the archive yet but will check out the matches in more depth and also put names with faces so I'll know who is who when I see y'all again at EVO

Overall it was a great event and honored to be part of this solid community of people and players.
