Full DP is more dmg, around 15 or so more. and near wall there is a great combo from Full DP minus the last kick.
Wall bounce after first three hits from DP, follow with K+G (or 66P+K for less dmg) for bound, then standard follow ups.(Distance is tight. In short 6 meter stages
, dash in, Dpod will give you the correct distance.)
Once mastered Full Dpod is GREAT Low punishment, as DP,K cannot be OTG followed.

P.s. DP full or DP,K can both be followed with a second DP for tech punishment (not 10o% on this)

If the opponent fails to tech, then no, you can't do anything OTG after a DPK or DPC (combo) in open space. However, the DPC allows you to follow up with a light down attack if the opponent is lazy waking up with a side roll.

Not sure where else to post on this forum other than discord, but I'll also ask here for the sake of the forum livening up. I'm having a little bit of a time trying to get going primarily through poking because of other characters having faster buttons. Counterpoking to be exact (Jacky, Sarah, Vanessa, etc)

Without seeing some footage of your play, this sounds like your choosing the wrong attack at the wrong time (advantage or disadvantage) or range.

Kage shares the fastest high punch (11f) in the game, and his [4][P] is fast at 13f, has long range, is half circular and easily hit-checked into the follow-up [K] for a spinning knockdown.

He also has an amazing "anti-poking” tool with [3][P] which crushes all high attacks, namely your opponents fastest high attack which is the standing punch. Not to mention [9][K][+][G] to deal with annoying [2][P] or low attacks in general. Both of these require a good read so they're not without risk, but if successful they both allow for combo followups -- huge punishment for simply trying to poke or counterpoke you!

I plan on sharing footage soon. My gaming PC allows for it through hotkeys. Just my 2 days off of work are spread out since I get Saturdays off usually, but it's mostly me getting poked out whenever I use his 4P or 3P granted I've had some success landing them. Same for 9K+G.
