VF5FS at Evo 2012: Event Details and Trip Planning

Where are you finding this? All the site I checked say $70 or more.

 

Yay, just signed up and registered for the event. It'll be the first VF tournament I have played in since... NEC8, I think. Yikes.

One weird thing I noticed about the rules: 5th/6th/7th/8th all have different payouts listed, but those are tied positions in a double-elimination bracket. Are there going to be consolation games played for 5th/7th?

 

I've been thinking of going, but I would need someone to room with, so if you're willing, we may be able to work something out.

Do you have any deadline that you need to know by?

Girfriend is happy with me going, boss is okay with me going, have signed up for the tournament, so I just need to look at restructuring my flights and I'm going to be there.

Ok Akai, I'm confirmed in going and also my cuzin with me, Ninjimbo. Say since it seems Imperial palace is the place to be why don't we get a suite for a bunch of us?

Anyway, +2 looking to share accomodations. PM me, we could get 4 people in a room and split the cost.

 

For anyone who plans on playing in this tournament and has not registered for Evo yet (either as a spectator or as a player in another game), you will want to get that taken care of real soon -- they're probably going to close registration before Memorial Day.

 

I am 100% confirmed for this event. Registered as a spectator for Evo, registered as a competitor for the Final Showdown tournament, plane tickets bought, hotel reservations made. I didn't think I'd be able to make this trip happen, but I got a few well paying jobs recently, and I cut some costs, and to top it off the trip was cheaper than I thought ($50 for a night at the Imperial Palace? Sold!). How many other people at the Imperial Palace are planning on bringing their Xbox for casuals? I could bring mine, if it would be helpful.

 

So registered for Final Shodown, if someone is looking to save expenses hit me up with a room rate (hell or even the floor, sorry it's the jew in me.) I'm about to book my flight in a min.

I've got some very real deadlines/time crunches that might not allow me to come but I figured $25 is a nothing spend to hold my place if I can make it. and anyway, $15 of that will go to the overall pot for the players so no matter what it is a decent place to lay out cash.

I should know in a week or so if I can make it. hopefully ticket prices don't become obscene by then.
