VF5 Vanessa Thread

    Something has been bothering me for a long time. The differences between /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif in DS and OS are so odd to me.

    DS:-3 on block, +2 on hit, and Head crumple on counter

    meanwhile...

    OS:-12 on block, -1 on hit, and Stumble on counter.

    I noted that OS has the option to do /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif which is safer, but...it still doesn't make to much sense to me how they did this.

    DS is not only safer, but it nets a crumple on counter. Free Inescapable damage against attack happy opponents and it's delayable. While OS is unsafe...making it's more risk for less reward. Cause nothing is guaranteed after stumble. If your opponent can struggle well, then you're left to gamble with a mix-up.

    Not to mention that DS works better when at a disadvantage. Im sure they meant to do it this way, but it just feels like a mistake to me. The safe damaging one should have went to OS. I mean really...DS has 4 different quick mid punch attacks...

    Blah..I just wanted to bring up something thats been irking me for the longest time...

    I don't feel that completely justifies making it unsafe though. Im glad you reminded me of that, cause I frequently get low-punched in DS during that string...thats all that ever happens though, and I continue my offense unimpeded(because I'm in DS). Also If I expect a low punch I can always go for the knee instead of the high punch.

    Meh... only use it in combos, or as a way to go into DS.

    DS /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif -- OS /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif
    Both mid-high natural combos; DS version crumples on CH but OS version positive frames on block.

    Aside from using /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (DS) to crush excessive jabbing and quick hits (I love doing it) and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (OS) what are some other ways really stop jabs and fast attacks mainly in her offensive stance that don't rely on a counter hit. (OS) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif seem to be abit too slow and in order to stopping excessive jabbing and quick hits consistently I always have switch to DS and do the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif.

    If i remember correctly OS /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif will duck under highs & won't throw clash up to -8, right? But i don't remember reading specific frames for OS /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, maybe we should get KoD to investigate on the exact frames it ducks under highs. Once again i propose moving some of the posts (Chefboy & afterwards) and locking the thread (possibly renaming it too) in order to keep the original, pre-release, discussion intact.
