[8][K] has a completely new animation and seems a bit faster, but didn't find much use for it anyway.

But the new one in OS can launch low rising attacks ? Is it jumping ?

Yeah, as I said in my post [9][K] seems to avoid low attacks at least in some instances. It seems to have a quite large attack frame window too so it's useable for crushing rising attacks as well.

I'm not completely sure if it avoids lows 100% though, I think it might only be counting as a jumping attack late in it's startup.

Oh yeah, one thing I forgot about that annoyed me a lot: When I delayed 3P+K to punish evaders the move would sometime mysteriously whiff against the opponent when he failed his evade. I don't know if this is a flaw within the move or the general system.

    Re: VF5 Vanessa

Yea, from what I understand there is still a problem with moves whiffing inconsistently when they should connect. I hope they fix these problems soon.

[6][6][K] from Evo/FT is now [4][6][K], thus eliminating the 1f delay that it used to have, is also a great counter hit tool in some situations with the Takedown hit throw.

So she still has her Counter Strike knee kick. The only difference is the change in command. This makes her Offensive Style even more better in my opinion.

To all Vanessa lovers out there. Sometime next week I will be posting the Vanessa Lewis command list for VF5. It will be a 2-part post. Part 1 will cover her Defensive Style moves and Part 2 will cover her mighty Offensive Style moves. Of course I might not do both parts in one day due to being in school in all. but will be posted in that time. So stay "tuned" to this thread.

In extension: does the whiffing of DS [1]+[P] upon succesful sabaki still exist?

    [P]+[K] from defensive move
Can't remember seeing it used in vids, maybe I missed it here or there. Seems interesting though, making takedowns much more likely. A hit throw from dodge is a nasty little thing I'd say, wonder how fast it is.

I've always been an offensive Vane player myself, so I'm very happy with these changes.

    Thanks again for the work.

Sorry for the late post, Strider. I actually live in the city of San Leandro, which is next to Oakland. I'm glad there are bay area VF players out there. Unfortunately since I'm in school full-time, I don't think I will have the time to join you and your friends for a VF gathering. But thanks for the offer.

the hand hold p and k also leaves opponent sideways, and you can usually get a blue-hit pppk. I'm sure theres better things from there, but thats all I've seen work with any consistency. It could possibly also be used for an OM counter opportunity.

the pppk will get a blue hit, but it'll fail if they block low. 3K is better because it'll stagger if they crouch guard, is safe on high guard, and will probably side-crumple on counter hit.

Can't offer my opinion on OM because I haven't been able to use it too effectively just yet. But from Side Turned situations like that, OM into a 0-frame throw is a good option (that I need to make better use of~).

    Re: VF5 Vanessa

jeneric said something about offensive stance 66kp being at a disadvantage on normal hit. this is not true... 2p vs. 2p always go in van's favor after this move hits normally or MC.

my friend was using this move almost solely against me, whilst mixing it up with a run up throw. ostance 66kp will beat out 2p, and leaves in van for a good position to 2p train the opponent, then eventually go for some throw/mids (depending on how the opponent reacts).

on block it's only truly punishable by 10 framers. the black book says it's -11 on block, so it does not guarantee a throw. and a 2p will beat out throw happy opponents.

i had a hard time dealing with this move. then again, i probably suck.

hehe, the last post i made i spoke of how good os 66kp was. that was almost 2 months ago... then dre posts those vids and that player enjoyed using that same move.

66kp has crazy hitboxes. although i'm pretty sure you can evade between the hits on block if you mix it with 66k8_2k.
