    Changes to characters are good cuz it keeps stuff fresh. However if they change the way a character is played too much, so much so that the focus of the character is changed, i don't much like that. Part of the reason I play with the characters I play with is cuz I like the play style they represent. Might end up moving to one of my alts if the playstyle of my char is changed too much.

    I feel like that's the biggest worry most of us have when we hear about these major changes. It's almost like Sega made a new VF#.

    1P Now changed to the last hit of 1PP2P, although it's most likely special low
    44P The float is higher now even on normal hit, so you can probably finish the whole combo even on NH
    P+K Hit effect changed to the new tekken style knock down, so seemingly it's not TR'able
    9K+GP New move that you can use in combos, such as 46P->P->9K+GP
    6P+KP Old 6P+K is gone, replaced with a new mid move with high P followup. Can be hit checked, and knocks down even on NH, but seems to be weaker than old 6P+K
    46P+G Stomp is not guaranteed anymore
    33P4 New way to go into Kokei

    Seems like this can't be interrupted if 4P hits

    Personal Comments

    -New 1P = LOL
    -New P+K = Tekken knockdown = LOL he said Tekken
    -New 9K+GP in a combo = LOL
    -46P+G Change = LOL
    -Kokei new moves = LOL
    -Reversal taken out = WTF NERF

    -So anyways, new 1P sounds like it's either going to be really nasty or something that's not nearly as good as Lau players would hope it'd be. It's going to be interesting to see how this move will be used if it's a special low like 2P. Maybe it staggers high guard opponents? Maybe it crumples on CH giving Lau some new combo? Either way it's going to make an impact on Lau's nitaku game.

    -44P change is nice for people who actually uses this move, good noob killer.

    -P+K and P4PP change to the knockdown is interesting. It's unknown right now if it's possible to TR from the new style knockdown (it might be QR only), but this will possibly make Lau less vulnerable to TR opponents after knockdown/combos (not that he's really THAT vulnerable anyways). Might give Lau more chances to punish rising attacks? or give Lau better RO potential from combos?

    -9K+GP is a new Mid,High, then Mid string. It remains to be seen if this move will be useful outside of combos, but if it ends up being only useful in combos, it will be the substitute to use if you want to force TR okizeme.

    -6P+KP seems like a nerf. Old 6P+K was good to beat backdash setups and deadly when close to the wall. I don't know if the new version will have as much damage potential, but it might be another mid for Lau to use instead of 6P.

    -46P+G Not sure why they did this, maybe they thought the stomp was extraneous and simply tacked on the dmg to the throw. If not then this is a nerf, although only a 13pt nerf.

    -33P4 Kokei from 33P instead of 33PP! This is a good change for Lau since this boosts his long range game.

    -3KPP seems like the motion is different so it's not a standing palm at the end anymore. If this is true, then it might be possible that you can no longer combo from the last hit. Maybe the last hit will give some good adv on NH/CH, but this seems like a minor loss.

    Kokei Stuff

    -4PPP taken out is a good change. The move had very little application, so no big deal at this loss cause...

    -K+GP is a new circular attack from Kokei!!! This is a huge power up as that was one of Lau's biggest weakness utilizing Kokei. This change alone is going to make Lau highly dangerous after he goes into Kokei, which is from alot of useful moves. On top of that...

    -3P into combo! Apparently this is an upper class attack similar to Kage's 3P from shippujin. The santaku game from kokei just became deadly. It's also fast enough that it should beat 2P in most Kokei situations. Good change if you're a Lau player.

    So Lau got alot of his useless stuff taken out, and in exchange gained a bunch of stuff to fill his holes. Potentially new S rank character, yay!

    You're a month late, dude. GOH's changes have already been posted. Here's so you dont have to backtrack: He lost his HAYABUSA, got a mid punch move in its place. His 3P*G has changed its animation ( I LIKE THE OLD ONE DAMNIT), he has a P,K,P COMBO now, and he has a 234P*K headbutt that animates slowly. OVERALL, good, not the fuck-over vanessa got.

    What are you talking about? All the Vanessa nerfs have been reasonable and the boosts were more then I'd even dare asking for.

    C'mon Jeneric, just admit it. All the girls got nerfed hardcore. There's not even a point in playing the game anymore for most Sarah, Vanessa, or Eileen players.

    We have yet to hear about Pai, but she's probably nerfed too. Sega hates vagina.

    I know those changes were posted in the beginning of this thread, but I doubt that those are his only changes.

    A concrete list of changes like srider did for Eileen and Lau would be appreciated by me at least.

    Honestly, I'd say about 2 more pages and the Vanessa talk will stop.

    I actually wanted to post something about how I like the new Van changes and never really cared about her reversals, but it's pointless, right? The Oh-so-more-advanced players know better that she got nerfed. Oh well, I'll just shut up and go cry in a dark corner.

    Please, continue bitching about all the uncertain things you ppl assume are already a fact and... a negative one to say the least.

    Question: Does El Blaze's [3]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif ground attack actually hit people now or does it still pass through people often?

    Lau's changes are looking good, he doesn't seem to have lost anything crucial appart from 6P+K which was may be a bit too good :p
    That circular from Kokei looks very interresting. I'm also waiting for the 1P info, something like elblaze low drop kick would be nice.
    Anything new for Lion appart from this full circular that seems to turn opponent ? May be 6PP combos on RH now or at least on side hit now ?

    Precisely. If SEGA is going to make THAT many changes to the game then why waste their time on a "expansion", why not just make VF6 then?

    Because VF5 wasn't enough of a change in the first place and therefore larger changes were wanted in VF5:R, as well as adjusting new things in VF5 that just didn't work (like OM).

    Now stop being a whiny jackass and be glad we're getting an expansion with actual changes (seemingly for the better).
