VF5:R Location Test Report!

    I thought I already went over this? I went to play at the location test and used Eileen, but only for a few matches cause I got sick of waiting in line. I really can't comment on how the changes affect the game as a whole and Eileen, other than the stuff I've said already. People didn't use any of the new moves, they were all more concerned about winning. Next location test I'll spend more time playing, and chances are people will start to play the game in a more VF5:R way next time.

    Yes, it still exists. I think buyaodawo81 meant to say that the walking speed is now slower for some (or all) characters.

    It's very possible you said this and I missed it/forgot it. I haven't been paying close attention to all 37 pages of the thread so there's a good chance I missed your 1 comment I cared about through the hord of other comments, yet useful for those concerned with it, which were just filler for when I actually got some info on my character. I look forward to when you get a chance to try out more of her new stuff.

    I hope this means hit and walk back tactics have been adjusted (not nerfed I want it to still be usefull) for characters that had enough tools to work with without that added. Eileen is included in this category for me.

    I noticed that Eileen's back walk speed is pretty slow now compared to version B. I wasn't able to backwalk away from rising attacks in time to bait a whiff. The speed might be same as Version D, but if what others said about faster rising kicks is true, baiting and punishing rising attacks could be something that's harder to do in VF5:R.

    I noticed in Lion's list of changed moves P,K,P all have the same Kanji. Does this mean that the last P of P,K,P is not special high anymore???

    I noticed many moves in the printout that should be/could be/have been Special High or Mid, but were not noted as such. So either they removed Special High & Special Mid altogether (doubtful), or we won't know about that until more information is released.

    Just be patient ;D

    I will be picking up Jean as my second mabey changed to my main depending on how I like him/his style. but I will still have brad as my main/second, has there been any information reguarding him announced. alot of is stuff has changed to. any info??

    Regarding the kanji... that just says high/mid/low... I don't think it's any special properties or other info is being included. There's really not much on there except the actual input commands themselves.


    I'm not trying to say she shouldn't have a back-throw at all, or anything... they inherently have a use. What I'm saying is that 90% of the time I do the back-throw, I was trying to do one of her normal standing throws for position or something, and my opponent cancelled into back-turned at the last second, when I didn't expect it, so I get a 0-frame back throw by surprise. And all I'm left with is a bad taste in my mouth because the damage was less than whatever I was trying to do, and I'm basically forced to just back dash away, when I could have been setting up for follow ups. It would just be nice if the damage was higher, since in VF4 I loved getting backthrows, and basically looked at them as a huge threat, and a win/win in almost every sense... that's just no longer true.

    In the Jean experimentation video, if you watch the guy on the next machine playing Lion you'll see that Lion now has what seems to be a high full circular that side turns on hit.

    Some updates from the last location test day. Yea this will be the last update probably. Since the location test has already ended.

    General
    ARM is definately super toned down at least for Sarah and Vanessa.
    Side guarding is just by pressing G. As far as I understand the new system. Side guarding removes the need to spend frames on auto turning to the correct side. This cause most or all side guaranteed situations to no longer function. So in simple english terms it would mean G = blocking that doesnt turn.

    Lion
    New low punch sweep. Looks half circular. Doesnt seem to do much. Havent seen it MC yet.

    Kage
    46P+G is new TFT throws opponent to the front not to the back
    64P+G is old TFT auto into izuna drop
    KPK new move. Seen a seasoned VF player using a new move to flop the opponent then OM -> P -> KPK.
    New leg chop move that flops opponent. Not sure about the command. The kage player TFT > knee > P > leg chop into rebounce combo.
    Shippujin 6P, 3P, 2KK, PPP all same animation and properties.

    1K+G changed to some leg chop thing that crumbles opponent on NH. Its opposite kind of crumble where the back drop to the floor instead of the front.
    6K combos still gay as ever with rebounce 43P+K
    4P+K new headbutt. Looks similar to 46P+K with different animation. Never got it to connect.

    1P+K new move is either a mid or a special low. It can be blocked while standing.
    1P+K MC > 2P connects. Looks like Akira's 3P+K > 2P combo follow up.I didnt manage to do anything else other than just a 2P... Not very sure if you need to waste 1 frame.

    46K MC 6P+G, PP4P6P+G Someone here is right. The follow up is changed to 6P+G. No longer 6P+K
    PP6P New string. Its PP with 6P strings. So you can do PP6PP+K+G, etc.

    New double fist attaack crumbles on NH. Kinda cheap imo... Gives the same crumble as 214P. Not sure if u can do 6KP > DLC combo.
    64P+G > 2 or 8P+K. Crumbles immediately on hit. 43P rebounce > 66KK. Most pple were doing this
    64P+G > 6P+K -> PK. Doesnt seem to connect anymore. I ducked it

    FL 6KK. New move. Knee into spin kick. Can be used for combos like Dragoncannon > 3PK > 6KK. Works on either stance. Doesnt hit wall though.
    6KK new move. Some knee crap thingy. Forgot how it looks like-_-; Cant seem to be used in combos I tried to use this to replace the old 2KK.
    3P+K MC > P (Miss) > 2P > 3KK combo works. I just randomly come up with it.

    4KKKK new combo string from the old 4KK. Very fancy looking.
    Doesnt look like much has changed. Everyone does the same thing over and over... The video of the guy playing against me is doing like 6P, spin kicks and grabs -_-; He does the same thing from VF5 Ver D. He is a 10dan btw.

    Liking the sound of the new 1k+g crumple on natural hit, here's hoping it still has circular properties and even better here's hoping you can combo or do a ground throw attempt afterwards /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
    Not a lot of info for Jeff but a new anti low and this NH crumpling
    1k+g just seems evil.

    Since nobody has confirmed it yet, I assume Akira does NOT have a fullcircular?
