    I was getting all-excited about Vanessa's new moves as well as all-depressed about her lack of reversals and ARM speed only to realise we might never see any of this at a console near us. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

    Reversals are fun, but it'll lead to more inashi/sabaki usage at least.

    Removing ARM is great. It'll solve the need to write FAQs for beating it (which I haven't finished for this one yet) and bad players being unable to adapt to a simple tactic.

    What? It technically isn't a loss because you never see it used.

    Shit, I fine with it (ahem, last sentence in my last post, reread please), and I sure as hell am /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gifing less than Sarahs and all the Kages out there.

    LPC isn't that big of a loss since she in VF5 got proper anti 2P moves.

    With all the changes they're making to Vanessa I think it's time they seriously consider renaming her stances. Their current titles seems to apply less and less as time goes on. DS is looking to very offensive...almost as much at OS is as well...


    Maybe with the addition of /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, OS will become more of a string oriented dealie, while DS will be more single strike based?

    I'll shut up now...

    I used it way more than /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif tbh, and leads to good throwing/punishing opportunities vs. highs.

    Oh well, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif has it's purpose: being BROKIN!

    DS=SWS/I-Elbow- Stance with Sabaki and a really fun Inashi but no elbow
    OS=NJS- Nerfed Jacky Stance

    ???

    Look at the move list now and tell me it isn't like that already...

    DS doesn't have strings, and is a concise movelist (like Goh/Akira) with other character's strengths mashed in with it.

    To set the record straight: Vanessa's best anti 2P moves in DS are ws /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif

    And I don't see why OS is more "string based" while DS is more "concise". OS doesn't have that many good strings and has a TON of powerful single hit moves that are not only great reward but low risk.

    Crazy, we've had like 5 people come give us reports from the loketest, and they all play akira/vanessa/sarah;; We need more character info!!!

    Seriously, though, thanks for everything posted so far, it sounds awesome. Sideguard definitely is sounding more interesting/useful than I imagined.

    Kinda shocked that Aoi K+G > PPK doesn't connect anymore... it was basically all she had in that situation before, hopefully that means more interesting options on a side-turned opponent, to make up for the loss.

    I really like hearing that neutral/back-turned throws got a buff. They really sucked in VF5. Annoyed that throw > guaranteed ground throw attempts are gone now, though. That was always one of my tricks to make up for Aoi's poor combo damage, again, I hope that means she got something to make up for it... or maybe just the recovery throw damage boost will be enough?

    The loss of K+G PPK is not Aoi specific, they changed the sideturned system so no one gets those kinds of natural combos in the side now.

    Yeah, because you play one of the two characters that had a good back throw. Almost every other character does 50 damage, and I think most of them don't have guaranteed followup attacks. Given the choice, I would never purposely do Aoi's backthrow as it stands now.

    What can Aoi do for more than 50 points of guaranteed damage against a backturned character at -12? For that matter, does she have any combos at all that do more than 50 points of damage? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
