    What will they do to replace ARM? Will you only be able to move around by dashing???

    @ Manji: From all of those VF5R vids with Sarah I must say her damage looks beefed up a little. In the match vs Taka, in round 2 (I think), she gets an excellent and if you watch Taka's health bar it goes down fast. Looks like Sarah has some more damage because she put Taka down and had a nasty wall combo in there too. Her flip kick ate his life bar...

    I assume this means the walk sideways, and the forward or back walk may be slower or maybe even standardized. That might mean only evade will move you sideways, who knows.

    No mention of Akira's easy DLC being removed yet. Making Akira more n00b friendly was a mistake in my opinion. In Evo he was a hard character for most people to use, but with the addition of /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif for n00bs to spam and the simple DLC, he's become a favourite among beginners rather than an expert character.

    I'm guessing Akira will get even more n00b favourites in R, not less. Maybe he'll get a fireball.

    It's great to hear that some character's neutral stances have changed a bit but I hope Jeffry's ugly Evo stance has been banished forever (the one that tarnished Jeffry in the 10th Anniversary).

    Yeah that seems like a step backward. In VF3 you had to continuously escape to align yourself and it looked pretty silly.

    stuff you'll see:

    Sarah's new backhanded uppercut. It produces a flop for combo opportunity (like Kage's shippuu 3P).

    Jean's fast(!) mid punch producing stomach crumple. Looks to have impressive range too! He follows with a mid kick into wall into his signature big down attack (as shown in the original R trailer vid).

    So before when people couldn't do the DLC, they did something else that was easier to combo that did less damage. Now if someone can't do the hard DLC they'll do the easy DLC for less damage. It's like night and day...

    I'm not sure if that is stomach crumble, as it looks like Sarah starts to straighten back up instead of keeling over before Jean's kick. It reminds me more of a longer version of the animation when Wolf's knee hits someone normally.

    Some Kage changes/observations I picked up from vfbbs.

    3PP: 1st hit staggers, 2nd hit knocks down. Apparently it's no longer a combo starter.

    K+G now hits mid and slams on hit.

    1P+K is a high attack and on hit creates a special stagger.

    KPK is a new high, high, mid string. First two hits look like the existing standing K and P, and the last K looks like the last K in the 4KKK series ("touuuu").

    42P+G has a change or addition in animation

    9P+G has been removed!

    7K+G (somersault) on air hit produces a flop, allowing for better okizeme, but probably no combo opportunity. I think this is a general change for all somersault kicks as you can see it in Shou's vid against Joseph (around the 1:30 mark)

    9K+G on air hit now produces a bounce, allowing for a combo.

    Floating with 2P after Juumonji P+K stomach crumple appears to be lowered.

    2P+K seems to come out slower.

    4P+G is the izuna drop (i.e. the old TFT with air throw followup). This was previously thought to be 64P+G. And there's no regular TFT anymore, it's replacement is 46P+G.

    46P+G is a new kicking style TFT throw which you can combo. It travels in the forward direction. The animation can be described as Kage flipping over and kicking the opponent in the back. Since it's a "kick" and no longer a "toss" maybe we call it the TFK?

    46K command change (was the old 6K knee)

    P+K command change (was the old 3P+K)

    As seen in the flyers, 4P+K and 1P+K are now attacks, which probably means no more punch reversals.

    p.s. don't rule out the fact that the information is either incorrect, or I messed up a translation, or both!

    Updated. Sorry the formatting is abit messy I just typed out most of it when I was in the train.

    I only tried Vanessa and Sarah. Everyone rapes my Sarah so hard that I only tried her like 4 games. I only won 2 games with my 400 yen... I did better with Vanessa since she is my main character. Saved alot of money winning with her haha!

    I got a copy of the pamphlet. I took a picture of it. It contains mainly the new moves of the characters. I am in the process of uploading it. Japan's connection is not very friendly with overseas servers /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

    The pamphlet also explains side guard. Although I dont really understand it very well. Someone here might be better in translating it than I can.

    Btw, I made some mistakes in my previous post. It is better to read this one instead LOL.

    General
    no more ARM. Meaning characters like Vanessa, Sarah, Jacky will no longer move fast by holding 4 or 6. The speed feels like Akira's current ARM speed. Which is basically useless, YAP!
    Stepping still the same. Cancelling of dashing, CDing is the same as Ver D.
    You have to side guard after you get side turn. Holding guard will cause u to face the wrong direction all the time-_-;
    You can no longer OMP or OMK. Just OM
    Middle kick still side crumbles on a side hit.
    Middle kick on the back no longer gives a free low back grab. I tried to do it on a kage. The crumble animation is weird. Doesnt seem like u can grab anymore.
    Wall hit is weird now. After comboing the guy on the wall. Sometimes you will see his character sit on his butt next to the wall. A Akira player Kneed me when I was in that position. It works...
    I feel that throw breaking is somewhat easier. I broke like 80% of the time with exceptions to those I didnt press...

    Stages
    There are low walls that are really low. Lower than the current one. I got ringed out easily by a pai doing air combo ending with PPKK.
    The Cage stage changes every round(?). The cage will lift up and it becomes a normal stage without wall. Then the next round the cage comes down and it becomes a wall stage.

    Vanessa DS
    1P+K low hand attack looks linear. crumbles on MC something like sarah's 2K+G. But drops down more instantly. I tried to 6K and 2P after MC. Cant connect.
    6K animation changed. 6P+G still works after 6K MC
    PK new move. Normal PK animation similar to Sarah's. 2nd hit is high.
    3P+K combo does not work anymore. P+KP spins the opponent away. i did 3P+K > P+KP > 3K. doesnt work on taka. P+KP 2nd hit misses.
    Since 3P+K > P+KP spins your opponent away. If you are close to the wall, you cant get a free pounce anymore. Spinning will not hit the wall. I learnt that the hard way. 100 yen /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif
    6P+KP > P > P+KP or 2_3PP+K+G doesnt connect on taka. only P did.
    1K+G new move. its a knee tat launches very low. Havent done any combo with it.
    4P+K new elbow move hits high and launches on MC. Floats kinda high but I havent really use it much. Seems slightly faster than boomerang.
    43P+K sabaki is gone or command has changed. I tried to do it but boomerang comes out instead.
    270 grab command changed to 63214P+G. Cant get a free down kick anymore.
    64P+G new grab.
    Previous reversals 4P+K and 1P+K no longer exist. The command has been replaced with new moves. Read above.

    Vanessa OS
    46P+KP. New move hits mid. Long range. Feels like P+KP but with better range. Works really well after back dash. Seems like its linear. Everyone evaded it-_-;
    6_K MC> 43P+K no longer works. DAMN. 43P+K will slam the person down on the floor. Its techable so you cant do a big pounce after that. PP6PK seems to land everytime after 6_K MC though.
    PP6PK new move. its like a PP elbow kick I think. I dont know if it hits high or mid...
    6PK new move. 2nd hit SEEMS to be mid. Because someone keeps 2P after he blocks me 6P. When I did 6PK, 2nd hit is a MC. Animation looks like El Blaze's 6PK
    46K into 6P+K catch grab no longer exist? I tried to do it SOOOO many times after 46K MC. Cant seem to do it.
    PP4P6P+K. Same as 46K's issue.
    1P new low sweep move. Looks like it hits evade to 1 side. Only gives advantage on MC.
    64P+G new grab.
    Take down's follow up P and 2P changed. You can only choose to do P, 2P or P+G ONCE. So you can no longer do PPP or 2PPP 3 times. The damage for P and 2P has increased. You cant down kick after P and 2P.
    43P+K > 2P > 3P+KP > down kick if opponent doesnt tech. You can get up normally without teching now I think? Someone just stood up from my down kick.
    Invader stance PP+K+G doesnt exist anymore? I tried to do it but the 2nd hit refuses to come out.
    66P+G new catch throw. Or rather its just takedown directly. Very fast animation
    9K+G combo and properties remain the same. I coudnt get it to connect on a taka player cos he kept blocking /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif He pwned me btw-_-;
    K+G new spin kick. It replaced the old TAKE THAT thing. Its a standing spin kick. It LOOKS like a mid but I think its a high. No one crouched when I do it so I dont really know what level it hits. Side turn opponents after MC. Might side turn after hit not very sure.
    66P+K. New move shoulder charge. Doesnt seem very useful. The opponent just flies away like the old akira 2_46P hit. Useful against Aoi though but I would rather do 2KPP...
    3P+K's strings changed to 4P. If it used to be 3P+KK, its now 4PK.

    Akira
    2_46P no longer hits the person up to the air. So cant ring out. Instantly hits the floor infront
    New double fist move tat gives a stagger stick animation on guard.
    43P no longer rebounces on a air hit. 46P+G > P > 43P > 2_46P doesnt work as 41P slams the opponent down. AS3 connects after 43P. not sure if techable.
    214P > 6KP > DLC still works. Same crumble animation.
    A new 2 hit mid punch
    666P crumbles now. I think everyone knows that...
    43P+G. Opponent will crumble like a back crumble. Its kinda fast so most of the pple used 66KK or AS3 to combo after that. Its guaranteed. AS3 seems to be harder to connect though.
    2_46P doesnt seem to splat your opponent next to wall anymore. At least it didnt happened on me when the other guy 2_46Ped me.

    33K became 1K
    2KK became 3KK with different animation. It feels the same except longer range?
    Flamingo 2G+K no longer stays in flamingo
    Flamingo G+KK 2nd kick is a launcher.
    Flamingo PPP no longer exist? I cant seem to do it when i tried to dragon cannon > 3PK > PPP4K. Tried a number of times. Even spamming P doesnt work.
    Flamingo KKKK new move ending with launcher. You can see that in Shou's videos.
    PP2K dont exist? I tried PP2K it comes out as PPK.
    PP2KK cant be done since PP2K doesnt work.
    2K+G combo still works
    6K+G new move looks like a chop down kick gives advantage on hit?
    2_6KK became ws KK
    4K+G cancel always give off a voice now? Cant seem to do the no voice cancel. I tried a lot of times.
    Flamingo 270 catch grab no longer works. Command changed?
    Flamingo PK is now the old Flamingo 6P+KK.
    6PK doesnt seem to fly the enemy to wall so easily now. The properties are still the same.
    270 throw command changed to 41236P+G.
    K+G MC > P strings no longer hits. I tried twice.
    PPP4K seems harder to press now. I missed it like 3 times.
    3P+K new uppercut hand. Shou does it in his video.

    Kage
    TFT animation changed. Now the guy looks weird floating when kage combos.
    His stance didnt change at all. At least thats what I feel from what the players are doing.

    Aoi
    K+G MC > PPK. No longer hits. I crouched after K+G MC'ed me.

    Taka
    Pretty much the same as VF3 imo...
    He can super delay most of his PPPPP kind of strings. Makes it hard to see when a throw is coming

    Jean
    The sign board says,he is suppose to be some kind of CHARGE ATTACK character. Eg. PPP or PP charge P. He got lots of those kind of charge type of attacks in a string.
    Some kind of punch like Vanessa's 66P animation but it sort of stuns on hit. Dont know if u can connect anything after that.
    He got a reversal kind of move that shows a light blue flash. I think it works on P. Cos I remember doing P when that Jean guy did it.

    In this vid you can see the stage changing. Round 1 is open, in Round 2 the cage drops and it's high-fenced, then it keeps alternating between rounds.

    At the beginning of Round 3 (around the 2:05 mark) Shun does a series ending in the lay down stance. Eileen hits Shun and he floats! But in Round 5 (3:13) she low kicks him out of the lay down stance and he does the same un-techable low knockdown we know in VF5. So maybe if you're quick enough to hit Shun in his lay down stance with a launcher, he floats?

    Ehhh.... I think ARM is still in VF5:R... not sure what you mean there.

    The speed is different, but I think it's the same as Version D. At least with Eileen it was the same speed in R as speed in D when I sat down and played some vanilla VF5.

    I tried with Vanessa. I was like holding 4 after doing 3K DS. The usual Vanessa thingy. But it doesnt move much at all now...

    Or does it mean that, only certain characters got nerfed to Akira ARM speed? I didnt try other characters so I might be wrong. But Vanessa definately doesnt have it anymore /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

    Thanks for the vid! Wish I coulda seen some of the new throws but damn, Shun has some new trickyness to him. The stage changing was pretty cool too.
