VF5:R Location Test Report!

    Pai's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif in the juggle seems to still allow some more dmg, probably a fast mid, or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif

    Sarah's FL knee hits on counter, but Pai can block the following /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif from Sarah, so at least the advantage from the knee on CH is less than 12f /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif (nvm)

    After that, Pai does a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif and some kind of kick. Is it rising /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif or is it a new move?

    I noticed earlier that many animations during juggles are changed. Even properties. Let's see:

    - Pai's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif seems like a Bound move from Tekken 6
    - Sarah's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, the kick rotates the opponent in the air
    - Sarah's FL /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif flip caused flop animation in a fight with Akira (probably to balance frames after combos finished with this move)
    - Akira's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif flips the opponent over, still allowing to QR/TR

    I wonder, how many changes were made and to what moves. And does it change the gameplay? Has any1 seen any bounce combos?

    Yeah, Sebo wins with that last comment.

    Another thing that stood out to me:
    If that's true, manji, this sounds like exactly the type of situation AM2 has been nerfing for every single character in VF5, by strengthening defensive options. Giving all the initiative to sarah is just broken, and totally out of line with the rest of the game. Sarah has some serious problems, but from my experience it was weaknesses with her non-stance moves. The super strong FL was a crutch that made her playable, but nerfing that, and bringing up the power of her other attacks would be a great change.

    I also thought that reversal commentary that occured a while back was interesting enough to maybe deserve it's own thread, but I won't revive it here.

    And can someone explain Aoi's moves on that flyer? Are the 6PP > G > P or K moves new canned attacks out of guard cancel, or just an attempt to explain how guard cancels work?

    I also noticed her canned tenchi evades get mentioned, they used to have a canned punch add-on, but now it looks like there's a kick as well, and a canned punch out of the backstep as well as the side evades? Or am I reading that completely wrong, since the moves seem to say P+K+G and not 4P+K+G?

    I also heard from another source, as well as reading a post on vfbbs, that Akira has a low circular in R. I flipped out too, but after settling down I think I welcome it. It's probably about time Akira gets a regular attack that leaves him knee counterable on guard! (assuming it's -17 or worse, of course). It may also be a sign at how important evading and attacking from the side has become in R such that characters like Akira, who have been traditionally linear strikers now have a full circular.

    And yeah, people need to stop clutching onto that flyer like it's the be all and end all for changes.

    I'm thirsting to see what new combos are for jacky. Something tell me there are along the Lines of Tokio movesets (I hope so cause Tokio's the man.)

    Akria with a full circular! you can bet he will fly up in the Japanese tier list ranks with that. Hopefully they power up the other characters much the same.

    Initiative is what is NECESSARY to use flamingo, how else do you use a stance where you cant block? Why is this exact same situation suddenly NOT broken when Lei does it? With a lot (and I mean LOT) better damage potential even?

    Then you guess right, block the sweep, collect your free float. Whats hard? Oh, did you WANT to have a "get out of jail free"-card to use in every situation? (Not that it is one) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

    meh. Don't forget that doing a sweep is taking a risk of that. Akira already had /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif to turn the tables on ETEG, although not cause guaranteed damage, but at least gain advantage with potential of good damage.

    I think he will fly up tier rankings because of the added damage potential of the crumpling SDE that makes the return...I hope they dont nerf its frames now though.. I wonder if Taka had anything to do with the fact that it got changed to crumple, and that bounces are made like Tekkens 'bound' attacks?

    Just imagine whats else Crumpling moves are added to tweak the balancing issue.

    I would have much rather have guard align my character to opponent rather than the "if opponent presses a button then you track" stupidity. Its pointlessly hard to know what is going on and if you are aligned or not (and whether or not you can do something or not).

    You'd think im a master of my own character and can align when I want to using a specific command.. but attacks could still be evaded.

    Courtesy of Mr.Liv272 on Ruliweb, here is some information on the much anticipated VF5R. I assume some of these infor can be redundant. Please bear with me on that. Information with a questions mark has not been confirmed.



    Offensive moves

    No more OM P or OM K
    There exists two different types of OMs (according to the distance against opponent)



    Throw damage

    0 frame throw does more damage(?)
    Neutral throw damage has gone up (universal change)
    Throws with guaranteed ground throw got nerfed.
    Back throw damages have gone up significantly.



    Wall combos

    When you use a big move during your wall combo, it causes a leg crumple for additional damage opportunity.


    Side guard system

    Side guard makes a different sound effect than regular guard.

    Two common situations:
    1. Guarding short range OM.

    2. Now you are able to guard a canned follow up when being hit by a string move to the side.




    Rising attacks

    Motions have been changed, and now they come out significantly faster. Much harder to guard them.




    Bounce combos

    Ver.C type bounce combos are no longer possible, but there seems to be different type of bounce combos(?)



    Low P

    Motions have been changed. Property changes are being discussed as of now. High P seems slower(?)


    Neutral pose

    Characters have unique pose at the start of a round.


    After rounds

    You can't do a down attack(3P or 3K) on a defeated opponent anymore.


    Akira


    SDE

    Stomach crumple on CH
    Floats higher on NH
    Range is shorter


    26P,P
    No more canned follow-up from Single palm. =VF4 ver.C style.


    Shoulder ram

    Command changed to from crouch 3P+K

    P,P

    Not as delayable anymore



    43P+G

    Motion changed similar to that of the catch throw 2 or 8 P+K.
    (e.i. 43P+G, 66KK combo)


    64P+G 2 or 8 P+K

    Motion changed to that of 43P+G in VF5


    46P+G combo

    46P+G,P,43P,Dbl palm combo damage has gone up. Dbl palm has to be
    buffered now by doing 1146P or 3346P.


    P+K6P

    Command changed to P+K,P


    New moves

    3P

    An elbow that Looks simliart to Kazuya’s 3RP in Tekken---??


    1P
    A double palm like move


    4PP

    A new move that hits high, high


    6P+K
    Slow but causes crumple on hit

    For cryin' out loud Manji, you'd think AM2 were personally out to get you. I've never seen someone get so worked up and complain so much over third-hand speculation and guesses based on bootleg test location videos! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

    From that Taka video with the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif* not connecting on the prone opponent post-KO, maybe a prone opponent just isn't hittable by anything?

    Anyway, I'm wondering about KO's that leave the opponent standing -- is this still in the game? More importantly, do we still get a chance to sober up Shun post KO?

    Takas huge stomp is propably too slow to hit the opponent on the bounce, I was talking about hitting the opponent right after knockdown, just like normally if they dont tech. Well of course I dont know if its still possible but at least its a separate situation.

    And yea, Im starting to think AM2 is personally out to get me, they removed my favorite move with Akira and raped my favorite Sarah moves already. I bet next they are gonna remove Akiras knee, standing palm and yoho at this rate. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif [​IMG]

    This is how I read your reply to Jeneric's statement (paraphrasing)

    Jeneric: comments about no auto realign in a side guard
    Manji: compalins that he prefers to auto realign with guard

    If that's not a complaint about 5R, then I don't know what is. Additionally, if what you're complaining about is not related to 5R, why is it even in this thread?

    Again, all I'm saying is that before you go crazy with the complaints, just hold out until we get something more factual? I don't know, maybe tapping guard still realigns you but the difference is if you're holding /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif and then they DM or OM, then you need to release and tap /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif again to realign?

    Just my 2c of speculation.

    I just visited the Location test today. I really want to spend the time reading this entire thread but I dont have that luxury here...

    Also I will be going again tomorrow probably. If anyone needs to test anything they can think about.I can do it tomorrow but no promises. But I cant spend the time reading this thread for questions. So it will be cool if u post a comment on my blog or you could send me a message.

    General
    no more ARM
    Stepping still the same
    You have to side guard after you get side turn. Holding guard will cause u to face the wrong direction all the time-_-;

    1P+K low hand attack looks linear. crumbles on MC something like sarah's 2F+K. But drops down more instantly. I tried to 6K and 2P after MC. Cant connect.
    6K animation changed. 6P+G still works after 6K MC
    PK new move. Normal PK animation similar to Sarah's. 2nd hit is high.
    3P+K combo does not work anymore. P+KP spins the opponent away. i did 3P+K > P+KP > 3K. doesnt work on taka. P+KP 2nd misses.
    6P+KP > P > P+KP or 2_3PP+K+G doesnt connect on taka. only P did.
    1K+G new move. its a knee tat launches very low. Havent done any combo with it.
    4P+K new elbow move hits high and launches on MC. Floats kinda high but I havent really use it much. Seems slightly faster than boomerang.
    43P+K sabaki is gone or command has changed. I tried to do it but boomerang comes out instead.

    46P+KP. New move hits mid. Long range. Feels like P+KP but with better range. Works really well after back dash. Seems like its linear. Everyone evaded it-_-;
    6_K MC> 43P+K no longer works. DAMN. 43P+K will slam the person down on the floor. Its techable so you cant do a big pounce after that. PP6PK seems to land everytime after 6_K MC though.
    PP6PK new move. its like a PP elbow kick I think. I dont know if it hits high or mid...
    6PK new move. 2nd hit SEEMS to be mid. Because someone keeps 2P after he blocks me 6P. When I did 6PK, 2nd hit is a MC.
    46K into 6P+K catch grab no longer exist? I tried to do it SOOOO many times after 46K MC. Cant seem to do it.
    PP4P6P+K. Same as 46K's issue.
    1P new low sweep move. Looks like it hits evade to 1 side. Only gives advantage on MC.



    Akira
    2_46P no longer hits the person up to the air. So cant ring out. Instantly hits the floor infront
    New double fist move tat gives a stagger stick animation on guard.
    43P no longer rebounces on a air hit. 46P+G > P > 43P > 2_46P doesnt work as 41P slams the opponent down. AS3 connects after 43P. not sure if techable.
    214P > 6KP > DLC still works. Same crumble animation.
    A new 2 hit mid punch

    33K became 1K
    2KK became 3KK with different animation. It feels the same except longer range?
    Flamingo 2G+K no longer stays in flamingo
    Flamingo G+KK 2nd kick is a launcher.
    Flamingo PPP no longer exist? I cant seem to do it when i tried to dragon cannon > 3PK > PPP4K. Tried a number of times. Even spamming P doesnt work.
    Flamingo KKK new move ending with launcher. You can see that in Shou's videos.
    PP2K dont exist? I tried PP2K it comes out as PPK.
    PP2KK cant be done since PP2K doesnt work.
    2K+G combo still works
    6K+G new move looks like a chop down kick gives advantage on hit?
    2_6KK became ws KK
    4K+G cancel always give off a voice now? Cant seem to do the no voice cancel. I tried a lot of times.
    Flamingo 270 catch grab no longer works. Command changed?
    Flamingo PK is now the old Flamingo 6P+KK.
    6PK doesnt seem to fly the enemy to wall so easily now. The properties are still the same.
    270 throw command changed to 41236P+G.

    More updates after my dinner. Alot more to write I think.
