As a journalist I have something called a 'press pass' or 'press credentials', meaning it's easy for me to contact PR representatives within companies if I need a statement, clarification, or an answer. And most of the time I get a pretty prompt response, especially if I'm throwing softball questions.

I've contacted Sega of America by phone and email within the last week asking a single simple phrase, "Is the arcade update to Virtua Fighter, 'Virtua Fighter 5R' receiving a console port to the X-box 360 or Playstation 3 system"?

So far I have yet to hear anything back. As soon as I get something I'll post on this forum if I get anything at all.

I'm not sure what your sources are if you even have any, but Sega of America is all I'll be contacting even though Sega of Japan is probably a better bet (my Japanese is absolutely horrific).

If you're close it's worth a shot just to see if you could arrange for someone from Sega of America's HQ to speak with Virtua Fighter fans.

 

Game company PR is a completely different beast from what you're used to. If you're not reppin' a well-known gaming news outlet, you're not gonna get a response 99% of the time. Even if you are from a games outlet, if your query doesn't fit into their PR plans, they can ignore you outright and/or say "sorry, we've got no idea."

Yeah I ignore both of them now. They are both asshats. Its like watching two Danny Bonaduce's shoving fail down my throat. In nearly every thread they come out gabbing about all that they know, yet every time their knowledge or "FACTS" are challenged they reply with some cynical response or how they didn't mean that, they meant something else. Then finally as a last resort they post an image of something irrelevant to try and hope that people ignore what stupid shit once again popped out of their face.

 

I live 2 blocks away. I usually walk by there every weekend when I go to Starbucks to get my coffee.

 

I tend to like zero-chan's posts people just need to not be so defensive against him. He obviously, like many of the other people who have sensitive information, can't always fully explain things because he's not allowed to, or is just too lazy to write an essay to explain something complex.
