VF5 Quest Mode tips

i dont know bout orange hair, but i managed to unlock pale skin for kage, it came in a item battle, the lion & dragon were gold in colour

 

I posted about this in a new topic, but I'm assuming more people read this one. Has anyone seen the halbeard(polearm) back item for Aoi? Is it in the consoler vf5?

 

When you beat the quest mode (credits) can you go back with that character and start again with their items (say on a harder level) or do you have to start over?

 

You don't get credits for beating quest mode. You don't have to go back, you can just switch the setting to hard but all of your opponents will still have a star next to them.

 

Balloon in Quest Mode

what does the balloon do?
when the ballon shows up in the map(quest mode), and u see the balloon is moving, when the balloon moves on top of the arcades, u enter that arcade. then u will get 10 item matches in row, yeah 10! and i am not kidding lol! i recommend u enter the easiest arcade, the one on the left. cuz u dont want to lost when the color item matches show up lol.

how to make the balloon show up on the map?
basicly it depense on ur last nr of ur total Win matches and total Lose matches. example, like 115 and 25, 115 and 75, 177 and 7 etc etc. one more thing, the last nr needs to be 1,3,5,7,9. then there is high chance that the balloon will show up in the map.

so i was playing quest mode today, i was with 807w 127 l, then i quit the game on purpose, returned back to the map, the balloon showed up, then i entered one of the arcade when the balloon aboved that arcade, then yeahh, the item matches, 10 in row, no kidding! then the 11th match, its no item match. so i quit the game backed to the map, then omg the balloon showed up again lol, lucky! thrid time, too bad the balloon didnt show up...
and remember, dont try to save when the ballon shows up, it wont work lol.

i got 4 golden item battles and 2 color item battles in row lol, rest are just normal ones.

are you sure there's not another determining factor? this has not worked at all for me. i have a character at gladiator... 1255 - 15 and i have not had a single balloon in one half hour.

hmm well, nrs like this may has big chance makes the balloon to show up, 117 and 17, 137 and 37 etc. also the nr 7, it seems has big chance the balloon will show up.

and i am not sure if there is(are) another determining factor(i think there are, but i dont know), just give u a main idea how it works. when i did it, my rank was Conqueror, if u wanted know... sometimes u need some luck, i guess...

ahhh... so being a conqueror is the key! i've heard that people saw the balloon soon after they became a conqueror, but randomly. maybe the other piece to that side is that the balloon appeared when the last number of the wins/losses matches with an uneven number, which is what you're saying.

I have Conqueror rank and it worked for me last night. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

When starting, I had a loss that ended in 7 and a win that ended in 5. I went to Quest, won two games, exited to map, and there was a balloon! I won ten games in the leftmost arcade (for another 7 and 7 combo), went back to the map, and the balloon showed up again. I went back to the leftmost arcade and sat down at a machine with a Master ranked player (as an experiment to see if the prizes would be better - they weren't). I won nine in a row and then lost. All fights were with high-ranked players even though this was easy arcade. Didn't go to map - just went back in to fight the same player. no item match. Quit.

Some thoughts and observations:

Since Ogi had only two balloons in a row, maybe there are only two per number combo. I have heard of people seeing at least three balloons total before this number trick was revealed. Therefore, if I can't get it on sevens anymore, I'll go for nines, etc..

I only win items in tournaments at this point. I was hoping there would be items from these balloon matches. There weren't any for me. All dragon/tiger icons were silver. No gold. No colored.

It seems that 7 is the number, which most likely triggers the balloon. I had W:217 L:7 and the balloon appeared, W:237 L:7 it appeared a second time. I was dumb enough to lose and afterwards I didn't get a visit by that lovely balloon again. I tried at W:319 L:9, no luck then I changed my stats to W:321 L:11, still no balloon to be found. 7 has granted me the most items.

After filling 5 x Orb Discs I was informed that there were no more orb discs to buy/fill. Disappointed, I expected a cooler item from my last Orb Disc....

Further has anyone unlocked Wolf's Vader Haircut (Dual Mohawk) or that Skeleton Biker Helmet in the PS3 version?

7 is the number. it's like an automatic; you get 7 as the last digit, and the balloon comes flying in from the upper right hand corner of the screen. if you get 10 item matches in a row and leave the arcade (to get back to 7's) the balloon will not return. get another 10 wins and the balloon comes right back. if you get ranking battle it won't effect the number of item matches you get (ie: if you don't get an item match streak after a ranking battle, you weren't going to get one anyways).

my first balloon attempt gave me 2 diamond items, 2 ruby items, 2 sapphire, 3 gold, 1 dragon orb. WOOT

TWIN MOHAWK is a Ruby Item, and doesn't cost any Item Points, it's so ugly that it's AWESOME.

Seven works for me. Two balloons in a row. Won ten more fights, nothing happened. Won some more. Restarted game. Got to seven. Two more balloons. Gonna go for one more - then I'll have bought everything in the store.

I have gotten 10 money chests in a row.
I have about 6% of items to go. I wonder where they are.

My wife, HowBoutSum[/size], just scored four balloons in a row. All on sevens. Doesn't seem to be a balloon limit as she's gone through about nine of them today.

ええI mean when I got the balloon, I got 10 money battles in the row. No special items.
