VF5 in WCG 2008 this year

signed up and looking forward to having some fun. The first set of Atlantic qualifiers starts April 14th.

But wouldnt you want the deserved player to be in the finals and not a masher? Who mashed his way the through the lag tourneys?

You have to play through the live regionals to make those finals though.

 

First words through my mind upon seeing this news (saw it somewhere else first): "PRAISE GOD!"

Good to see I was right and that WCG was actually looking for the best possible fighter on the 360 platform, and aiming at true worldwide competition. I'm really interested in seeing how this goes down in Japan, seeing as they will at some point have to play on the 360.

 

I can't wait to see who ends up in the finals.

 

VF5 handles lag a lot better than DOA4 does, and the online qualifiers for DOA4 went pretty well. Given that it's segmented by region, I really don't think there is much to worry about in terms of the lag factor. Obviously you're not going to be getting perfect zero frame lag matches, but in DOA4 all the best players managed to overcome that and qualify. If it really worries you, keep in mind you can always complain to a WCG admin if you feel your lag with someone makes it impossible to play good matches.

Anyways good luck to you all. Lol, that's right. If I made it to the world finals I think the name would really confuse the japanese players. BTW, the name is actually a reference to the anime Excel Saga if anyone has seen it.
