VF5 in WCG 2008 this year

You are right KrsJin I already qualified so theirs no need for me to play in this. By the way, CidKid has top seed for winning the WCG tourney in New York so he doesn't have to play also

What happens if you win the qualifier from your region? Are you supposed to get an e-mail or something?

 

VF5 WCG here at Indonesia really is a big disappointment for me and the other contestant. It makes me wonder if the promoter of Indonesian WCG really wanted to make this game available at the day of event or not.

A lot of bad things happen before and during the event such as :

<ul>[*]Un-organize schedule [*]alot of secret regarding the price for the winner [*]Scratch DVDs [*]Low controller batteries (which is worth only 3 sen) [*]Un-organize match system (They not even bother to print it, instead they used blank paper and a pen to draw it them self) [*]2 x 1 square metre spot fitted with 2 LCD 29' a table and 4 bench [/list]

Indonesian VF player can only hope that next year will be better, because with this kind of problem in a big event such as WCG will only makes the people that were interested in the tournament look the other way. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif

 

I've secured time off work to come down to England for the live event in August.

Is anyone else from here going to the live UK qualifiers?


I still need to sort out transport and accomodation but I can't imagine that would be too hard.

And I need to get a passport as well come to think of it.

Atlantic,Pacific,North and South regionals will be held in different areas

I was rooting for Chefboy/Blacklac for the South Division, oh well. At least another Vanessa player made it today.

Does - Button settings for everything other than Punch, Kick and Guard must be set to "no use" - mean that you can't use the defualt 360 controller set up and you can't push either of the L or R buttons (that do multiple buttons at once)?

 

^ I wouldn't worry about button configuration online really. Anything seems fair game for pad users.

If anything WCG will be all for the default setup. If that's what you use, go for it.

 

I just wanted to thank the group that came to my center for participating in the WCG Qualifier for Ontario Regionals. It was a pleasure to deal with gamers on a mature and professional level. This rarely happens in gaming competitions and I appreciate it. Keep up the good work in this community - Visit your local LAN center and encourage them to host events for VF!

Those who have qualified, check your emails. Seems the date for the Northern Qualifiers will be Aug 30 - Aug 31, tentatively anyway. They're still figuring out official date/location.

 

I'm curious about how many people can be qualified for US??

 

Mine said Aug 2nd - Aug 3rd, for the Atlantic.
