VF5 in SoCal! March 29th - April 1st, 2007

Hey everyone! Really appreciate your enthusiasm about the events of the weekend. I spoke with Plague today...anyone planning on attending the Buy.com event on Sunday - PLEASE REGISTER! Buy.com is getting nervous about the slow going pre-registration. You do not have to pre-pay to pre-register.

Good news: The Grand Finals for VF5 will be presented on stage! The schedules are up for the Buy.com event on the site as well.

Look forward to seeing everyone out there.

 

Just registered. A friend of mine who is sort of new to virtua fighter will also be registering for the tournament within the next day or two.

 

I am practically good to go!

The tickets have been booked and the penalty for any changes is harsh (consider that added incentive to ensure that I go).

Work situation is almost completely handled.

So consider me in town and good to go (to get destroyed in VF) from Wednesday March 28th - Monday April 2nd!

If any team is looking for a third wheel I'd be happy to be that third wheel.

I've also registered to the buy.com tourney. Looking forward to it.

 

OK - here's a list of confirmed set-ups for the SoCal event:

Plague[/size] - one full set-up plus 4 monitors with speakers and audio adapters. All four days.

EL_Brisal73[/size] - JP PS3, VF5 Game, two HG sticks. All four days.

Matt_K[/size] - PS3, VF5 Game, two HG sticks. All four days.


Now, everyone else please contribute and post about it. I want five set-ups total as a minimum. Once two other people confirm (to make the 5 minimum), any additional set-ups need to have their own displays. I can fit seven set-ups in the house and I'd make room for more /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

Dig deep! Contribute! You'll make for the best VF5 event! Many people are flying from all over the country. Do them the honor of multiple set-ups.

 

I'll bring my HG stick and a copy of the game (late thurs nite on+)

I can bring a ps3 if you're really hurting for another setup, but I'd rather not take it on a plane . . .

We spoke with Konjou_Akira from NYC over the weekend. He came down to a MD VF5 tournament. I asked him about the buy.com tournament, and he just needed to know the players he was staying with is indeed going. I told him the importance of PRE-REGISTERING online

(THE SPONSORS DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE BOARDS, THEY WANT TO SEE PLAYERS ON THEIR SITE !!! )


So, all I can stress is , Please REGISTER. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY !!! They just want to see names down !!

On the topic of places to stay

So far I have Team Nocal and Konjou Akira who have stated interest in my place. PLEASE PM me with your intentions

Thing to remember:
1) Let me know if you will be bringing a PS3, Sticks, and game. I will be able to have extra setups at my place for practice.
2) I will be home and available for transportation starting on Thursday 3/29 at 4pm PST. You can arrive earlier, but my last day at work will be on Thursday so you are more than welcomed to stay at my place while Im out.
3) I have one car that can fit 4 people. If Team Nocal has more than 3 you will need to rent a car
4) I will be attending the Buy.com tourney on Sunday 4/1. If you leave on April 1st I will be able to get you to the airport by 9am

by the way, konjo has to teach me how to play DOA. my JA got suck. I may be getting better, but I can not handle VF5. I feel this is the time I am going to play DOA.

Why does everyone hate on DOA? It's not a bad game. I admit I used to hate on it too, but now I see things much more clearly.

Btw, Yosuke, if you want to learn DOA, I can help. Also, you can go to the site in my sig.

Oh if anyone thinks DOA is a "bad", or "easy" game, I'm accepting money matches. Any amount.

 

I think he means that changing thought processes from VF5 to DOA (other any other fighting game) can affect you when you go back to VF5.

I don't think he meant it as an insult personally to DoA, Jared. But playing DoA really screws up your VF and it can be argued that it's also the same vice versa. Particullarly in a high "moral" game like VF5 compared to the reverse nitaku heavy DoA4 mechanics.

Tournaments only a week away, exciting stuff.

 

Ah I gotcha. Even though I think you guys are probably covering for him. haha, it's ok though. I'm still accepting money matches though.

And I think it's possible to separate the two games in your head so you can play both equally as well. They are different enough to do so.

 

I'll come by for Saturday with a PS3 and 2 Virtua Stick High Grades. I'm not all that great at the game right now and would love to get training from some vets.

 

I'll money match in DOA2!
