VF5 in SoCal! March 29th - April 1st, 2007

Sorry if there was confusion - SoCal VF singles tournament Saturday. Buy.com singles tournament on Sunday. There are two singles tournaments.

 

everyday is a tournament? kind of exhausting in my opinion - i guess let the people decide.

I am sorry it always happens that teams' strength are not fair.

I think, I will be in srider's or Unsafe_Dan's member. I have no idea. maybe srider's one.

however, don't think I am a strong player. I have only played VF5 for 200 games in last winter break, and that was terrible. I have not been playing any games at all since then. it is very difficult to get used to playing fighting games, sticks, and thinikng when one has not played for a long time.

I will be much stronger when I show up at Evo final though. I will prepare my skills for it during my summar break.

Unsafe_Dan and Srider already have their teams filled out, sorry to tell you. Here's a thread about the Team Tournament, hopefully it will help you pick a team (Namflow doesn't have a team either at the moment, so maybe you could team up with him?).

I've seen some of your videos, and I think it's safe to say that you're a powerful fighter even if you're rusty!

Are people actually going to this? There are like 4 people registered right now, and AFAICT, the rules are a joke - they outlaw HRAP3 (turbo) + ps3 pad (wireless), which leaves converters, vshg or fs3. That being said, i'll sign up if theres a group going.

There is a smaller team of SoCal players that you can join. Castle and Matt K. I'm sure they wouldn't mind having you on the team. I'm sorry I can't have you as I just added KoD to my team. But I'm pretty sure Matt K and Castle will team up with you.

Alex: 3 tournaments in one week is looking rough, but I guess for the people coming into town it will give them their money's worth. Some people will probably not be able to do all 3 but I'm sure we the majority of us will be able to play all 3 since it's basically a tournament a day.

Speaking of people looking into getting their money's worth by coming to these events, the pot probably should be changed to 70/20/10 so it'll be just like Evo.

Maybe an entry fee for team tourney as well?

 

Team tourney will be free to enter. It will be for fun and excitement only, I guarantee that it will be fun. Reminder that I need to know the teams by March 15th!!!

 

Since theres a deadline for the Team Tourny sign up TX Lion and I for a CO Team. We don't know our 3rd person yet though.

Also KOD sharing a motel sounds cool. But it's still not definite for us yet. We will IM you once we know though.

 

Hmm...I would like to attend, but since I'm new here and all I might get schooled pretty badly....

However, I would definitely like to meet the world famous Yosuke.. ;p

 

Quick question guys - if the tourney starts at 6:30 any estimate as to how long it'll run for?

 

I'm trying to free up my work schedule that weekend... If I can manage that (it's sort of tough in my position though), then I'll definitely be heading down and getting ready to get my @$$ kicked pretty bad (but boy am I loving VF5).

Southwest Airlines has some nice rates if I can confirm them before next week ^_^ Once that's done, I'll be wondering if anyone wants to split on a room or something.

If I can confirm within a week... I'd be happy to fill in an empty team slot. Don't know how much I'll contribute, but I'll certainly put in the effort. I mainly play Lion and Aoi.

Hey, the Saturday venue is going to change. Restaurant owners booked a 200 person party on the same night AFTER I booked the banquet room. It's just not going to work out well. Currently looking for new venue. Tournament time subject to change.
