VF5 in SoCal! March 29th - April 1st, 2007

Yo Plaugue, make sure any monitor you get from now is HDCP compatible if you're taking HDMI input from the PS3 otherwise it won't display.

 

Won't make any promises but I may attempt to come all the way from the east coast if I can manage my money correctly. Supposed to be getting married this year and don't wanna go over board with the cash.

 

Well, if you're getting married, chances are you'll go overboard with cash anyway. I remember that happening to me. Hopefully you can find some room in your budget. It would be great if you could make it.

Jide: since I get the Dell to display - that means it is HDCP compatible Yes?

Well let me know if there are any cheap places to stay or someone that can house me or somethin. That is usually my problem with going places, transportation to and from the airport and housing. I am but a poor working guy who goes to school. But i can probably find a plane ticket for cheap and manage why to the airport.

I am quite surprised that a lot of VF players are coming to this event, and I heard all FL players quit playing VF, but it looks like a player from FL is going to come.

guess I would like to play EVO as well. if anyone who wants to play evo(and 5) with me, you are very welcome.


and, would you let me know if anybody can let me stay for a while, I mean before 29th. I will finish my classes around 15th, I would like to stay Los as long as I can, I mean if you guys have no problem. then I am going to buy a plane ticket.

It's great to see this event being developed into another big western VF gathering. I wish I could make this event. Thanks for organizing this type of event and keeping the VF scene alive.


Yosuke: I wanted to use Akira's new 46P+G on you in 5! It's a shame that I won't be able to make it. Have fun in LA.

Man, this is looking great. Last year saw 30 people in the tournament and 24 at my house. I bet this year will be bigger - maybe by a large margin. In response to that bet, I've updated the first post with links to a second motel in the area plus I've added a new section covering transportation.

Thank you all so much for your interest and participation in this event. It constantly amazes me that such great things come from being involved in the VF scene. I hope it's as exciting for you. YES!

Things get better every few hours! The confirmed list is gonna have 25 people by mid February, I swear. Right fucking on.

I appreciate the gratitude and I wish you could make it, too. Hopefully things change and we'll get in ridiculous amounts of Akira v Akira. If not, you will be missed by myself and, I'm sure, many others.

 

I too will miss this sunshine of a event since I will be spending money to get myself a nice dell 24" wide screen monitor for VF5 & the busy season starts @ the point of this event for me as a stagehand. But I'd heard that sal might be going.

Damn, you CA players have all the fun. I'll see if Juno can make it to this event. It's pretty hard for him to get time off of work though, and I think he already put in his vacation for another trip, so I don't know. Maybe we should just move out there. Screw this CO weather. I can possibly provide transportation from the airport depending on when I get home that Friday. I live right by it so it won't be a problem.

 

Thanks for being willing to jump in and help with driving. We'll know more as the day draws closer. I'm sure more and more itinerarys will appear here.

Drivers are a great help in this whole process - not only for airport pick-up and return - but transportation to and from the tournament venue Saturday. Thanks in advance to everyone who makes themselves available.

It actually is ice cold in California nowadays. People who are traveling bring enough clothes so you don't freeze. Hopefully the weather will improve by march.
