If a person is at -7 they cannot duck your throw attempt, so the only way they can stop the throw is inputting throw escapes or attacking. If they attack they are at a large disadvantage. low punch is 12 frames + the 7 they are disadvantaged, which means you can attempt up to a 19 frame attack to beat out their low punch. Nothing is guaranteed for the attacker, but the situation is heavily in your favor, because larger frame attacks (which you can use because of the advantage) cause more damage than a low punch. Did that help?

As many frames as you want, but If I understand what you are trying to ask.

    1. Your opponent is Wolf, he is at -6 frames disadvantage.
    2. His fastest attack is 12 frames.
    3. You can use 18 frame or faster mid attacks to beat out Wolf's fastest attack.

I have a question, hopefully not a stupid one... how does the game differentiate between a crouch dash and d/f, d/f attack or throw. Like, with jeffry, if you crouch dash, see a throw whiff, and then hit P+G, at what point will he do "crouch dash > neutral throw", instead of just getting a splash mountain?

if you tap G after your crouch dash then throw you'll get your neutral throw every time. G acts like a input buffer reset

    ^ Interesting, I'll try that.

be careful with that online though. buffer lag can sometimes make it so that moves don't come out at all. I've def G buffer canceled myself into losses. Offline it's fine though.

It's timing based. There's an input window in which the entire command must be completed. If this window expires, then your /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif will just be registered in isolation. Depending on how the window expired, you may end up with a neutral /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif.

There's no hard data available on the length of this window, and varies with every command.

My suggestion is to just practice it training mode until you get a feel for how long you can stretch a crouch dash /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif with delayed /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif to get the Splash Mountain throw.

Didn't have anything constructive to add, but I wanted to thank everyone for the information. This really answers a lot of questions that I had (such as why I would attempt to duck throws under certain conditions and still get grabbed). This will help both my def and off significantly.

    Thanks a lot.
