    EDIT: Kage stepping + Jumping looks weird yet great. : P

    EDIT2: Characters standing in the combo like in Goh's part of trailer seems to be the new bound.

    Movement looks a fair bit faster, would like to know if anythings changed with OM speed/angles too.

    The new Lei stage looks like the best stage in all 3 versions of VF5.

    Damn i was so worried about super mario bros jumps and turns out that they are one of the coolest addiction [IMG]

    They look fast enough to be used in okizeme as well. Maybe not, but it's just an impression.

    Has anyone in Japan commented on the multithrowescape issue yet? Possible or not?

    If not... then this is a massive noobification..

    edit: on the other hand: without clash you dont even need throwescapes.. Especially if you can only escape 1/3 anyway.

    ...Lets all just spam buttons.

    You mean OM attacks or OM as movement? Im not the one to cry after it tbh.. However with the changes mentioned VF will lose like half of its depth.

    Hasn't OM already been shown several times in the clips posted here though?

    Re: VF5:FS Location Test Impressions

    Right so I've been moaning on the shoutbox a bit. Let's direct some of my moaning here:

    I don't like that hitting failed evades now gives CH. That means that if you P somebody out of their evade they are in -8 and are at ETEG disadvantage again - pretty much a gay little reset situation which should not even exist in a VF game.

    To be honest ETEG isn't so safe that it needs "toning down" in my book. Even in Vanilla VF5 all I have to do is wait around for a few frames then 46P with Akira netting me 1/4 of a bar. 1/4 of a bar is satisfactory damage in my books and judging by slam combos I saw in VF5R vids I am willing to bet that Akira will get boosted damage potential off of 46P in VF5:FS anyway.

    I also don't like how throw clash is removed either. I moaned about this on shoutbox earlier aswell but I basically just got called a noob and told to shut up about it, so I don't really want to say anything here on top of that.

    Here's my question for you lot in Japan doing the loc test though:

    If you hit somebody with a half/full circular move as the opponent tries to ETEG will that also count as a CH? If so this means that Sarah's half circular 8K+G will be a great move to deal with evade (although it is only half circular, and in VF5 her only direction for half circular mids). Of course this is if 8K+G hop kick is the same move and still gives launch on CH. Her K+G high full circular should also be a great move for dealing with evade in this case too. Assuming, of course, it still leads to Flamingo with +9 advantage on CH, and if Flamingo is not utterly shit it should be a nice little tool.

    Imagine if Sarah's K+G DOES count as a CH and ALSO gives +9 advantage AND she still has 9f FL P. That would just be too sick lol. Beating an evade with a full circular kick then getting a garaunteed PK netting you with something like 50pts of damage and left at a +4 situation.

    Judging from what I've read there will be a hell of a lot more nitaku going on.

    Shame really I quite like small adv/disadv situations and the removal of 0f throwing and throw clash can only be detrimental to the layers of yomi.

    Still though I am looking forward to it. Needless to say I hope it gets released. In a way I'm torn between fucking hating the gameplay changes but at the same time I can see how it will make VF more approachable and less of a chore to learn (which tbh, I never really minded when learning VF; it's just that your average gamer doesn't want to go into technicalities or frames when learning any sort of game).

    New animations look sweet, Goh now looks like he is out to hurt someone rather then doing a Judo exhibition in front of a crowd.

    I hope all the sparkly effects and shit Sega put into this game is enough to attract and keep new players interested.

    I'd hate for VF5:FS to be like VF5 where it attracts new players for a couple of months then they all bugger off again to Hello Kitty Island.

    We'll see.

    Re: VF5:FS Location Test Impressions

    Goh looks amazing so far! Kage looks like he will be much more fun to play. Wolf looks like he will just kill anyone in seconds like he can in vanilla (SMDH).

    Really looking forward to seeing a good Akira or Lei match.... hopefully on Akira's stage since Reno says his music ROCKS. Can't wait to hear it then

    honestly it's painful to watch all of these movies, because the music is just so darn bad. Closed the window on the Pai mirror like 10 seconds after it started. I really hope everyone who got a chance to play this complains to Sega about it. If it doesn't get changed then here is to hoping that all the Vanilla and R tracks will be available somehow to select.

    Jumping is not as bad as i thought it would be, it will just be something to get used to. Multi throw escape gone???? I don't think I will like that, but I haven't played the game yet so I won't worry about it till I do. Last but not least I can't stand the announcer or the new sound effects. The new sound effects seems like they pulled it straight from an 80's atari game. Did they even try? Hearing the announcer say " knock out! " at the end of every round is highly annoying. " K.O. " is just fine with me. It's weird but movement with some chars seem fluid but then with others like Wolf it seems kind of stiff. Also something about how wolf strikes in that vid posted seems off and unnatural.

    If they keep up what they are doing with Goh I may just have to main him. I have no complaints so far. Let the changes come, it will be hard for them to ruin the game for me. They can make it more technical or less technical and it will get my bucks.

    Just bring to the US.

    Re: VF5:FS Location Test Impressions

    Thanks for Pai v Pai vid. My observations:

    PPKK -> new animation

    d+P+K -> new move, press b to Bokutai

    d+P+K,K -> continuation, porpably half circular

    ff+P -> long range, 21 damage palm, -6 on guard

    WS P+K,P -> new mid mid combo, 25, 21 dmg

    df+P+K -> +2 on NH, pushes opponent shorter

    Bokutai P+K -> crumples on NH ! -> df+K+G -> df+PPPK - 84 dmg combo

    Side throw now 45 and FC f+P+G back 60 dmg!

    b+P -> +4 on guard

    DEATH CAM IN b+K+G hit !! Yeah [IMG]

    OM still in the game.

    P+K -> new effect, animation.

    And Pai in bikini... Sweet [IMG]

    Personally I like it, because it's still a three way guessing game when you're 100% certain someone's going to throw you, so I don't think it's dumbed down, just easier to understand for players.

    forgive me because I haven't been paying attention to VF the last year or so but is that TE trick still in, I don't want to make myself look stupid by describing it wrong but there was a trick where you could hold 1 TE right?

    Also, isn't it fairly easy to buffer in a single TE even in medium disadvantage without an evade?

    Seems like theres a lot less incentive to ETEG if you can only escape 1 anyways.
