Wolf's TKS is now escapable and Jackhammer is comboable from it too? I'm guessing Stunner will be at a massive disadvantage if escaped.

The icon still shows up, but it seems that there are less instances when it comes up. It used to come up after Akira's guard breakers, but it doesn't in FS.

Mixed feelings about the jumping. I'm just glad they didnt go the MK9 dickriding SSF4 route a remove sidestep entirely . Can't wait to see how the new changes to sidestep play out. I'm excited about this news. Hell, maybe Vanessa will get her reversals back. (Not likely ) Avoiding the puddle's ignorant comments be damned I cant wait to see all these new animations and moves on my living room flat screen.

I don't have trouble about 0f, but throw clash is gay.
    I'm happy it's removed now.

    Re: VF5:FS Location Test Impressions

I'll reserve judgement but it seems like alot of the changes were against grappler players. They seem to favor lesser skilled players. No zero frame throw gives turtlers more time to input throw escapes. No low throw on crumple takes the burden off of players to input a low throw escape when crumpled . Low throw is now 1 2 3P+G , so uke (throwees) dont have to learn to input 1 2 3 P+K+G te. No throw clash encourages P spam(or whatever your signature disadvantage move is) at disadvantage.

It's only fair I guess, things run in cycles , VF5 favored grapplers.

My EL Blaze matches against the legion of Jacky/Lei Fei players will be interesting to say the least. (Assuming U.S. players ever get toplay this.)

Id guess there goes any usage for TKS in the first place.. From being a good move and Wolfs knee-speed punisher, down to propably nothing.

From the changes to throws and low throws it seems maybe you won't be able to multi throw escape any more.

Are force-crouching moves (i.e. - JE's ch [1][P]+[K]) to low throw setups affected in FS??? I'm not too worried about it if those setups are affected, it just means there's slightly less to do.

Seems like we should expect more of an 'in-your-face' approach (harder hits, less turtling, advancing sidesteps, etc.) rather than 'wrestlemania' approach (hit-throws, throws from crumples, etc).

Just pointing out, for the sake of the obvious, that this is a location test. Let's not jump to any conclusions, because there's no guarantee that any of this will make it into the final version.

Let's not get too attached to any changes we see, or leap to any conclusions as to the future of VF, until the first version of Final Showdown is released. Or, if that's impossible, try not to get too emotional about it [IMG]

I, for one, am very hyped. Can't wait to see the action in vids.

Nothing wrong with speculations, as I'm pretty sure everyone here is hyped about FS... I'm just wondering what direction Sega is trying to go with these changes... Granted, they're not set in stone, but at the same time they could very well be... We'll never know.

Either way, I am dying to see it all unfold in .flv or some other video format... Seems like they're taking a hint from Tekken having the camera change during certain move hits. All we need now is for Jeffry to have a Phoenix Smasher and for Akira to have a just-frame Yoho. [IMG]

Maybe you can't do regular low throws during stomach crumple but maybe that P+G low throw will apply bc if you guys see in one of the VF5FS vids Pai goes into Bokutai, does her K knee, gets a gut collapse similar to Goh's 6K (CH) and does what looks like a low throw... or maybe they scrapped that altogether [IMG]

Edit: Just read Ladon't post, disregard ^ [IMG]

Someone test if low throw input option selects to a normal P+G standing throw - i know earlier it was said that goh's 33p+g is removed, but thats a little unclear.

If it is an option select, I don't see how that's uniformly bad for grapplers, since it should be strong against fuzzy guard.

Gee who would have thought that throw clash would be removed? [IMG]

That being said, are throws still 12 frames, or have they been speed up? I don't think anyone minds throw clash being removed, but considering that throws will be now very open to abare, having them be 12 frames seems a bit out of place. Maybe throws are 10 frames now and no one picked up on it?

    - -

Are the new camera angles ambiguous at all? There are some instances in VF4/VF5 Vanilla where you perform a throw or TE and you can't tell which side that you are going to end up on. Does that ever occur in the test build of 5FS, where you can't tell if you're going to recover on the 1p or 2p side?

I would like to know that as well... I for one hate attempting a wall combo off of [4][P]+[G][2]_[8] with Jeffry and screwing it up because I expected the camera to change one way and it did the complete opposite.
