Ya i actually have no problem with the bodycheck lol but the hit throw is a breaker imo, with the wall carry potential, and the guard break of doom... the guy SEEMS indoubtably top tier at the moment.

The video shows that Akira is +6 after hit throw and I'm wondering is there anything the opponent can resist? The following combos looks like guaranteed and it can push the opponent to wall!! Damn strong!!!

I believe those strong Akira players would use this setup rather than just bodycheck.

Doesn't look like anything is guaranteed to me, having not played the game though that's just a guess. Reno mentioned somewhere that you have to choose between blocking high and low for the followups.

I was thinking fuzzy can help during -6, but Reno mentioned you have to choose between high and low. I'm still confused.

It's basically a hit stun where you can't actually move, the only thing you can do is block. Either high or low. I'm not sure if you can be thrown yet or not... someone will have to clarify this for the outskirters

They showed in the trailer akira doing a foot stomp low move from stance...I'm thinking it's nitaku for the mid and the low and the +6 is so you can't interrupt.

A couple of VF guys here already suggested I use bodycheck more. [IMG] Actually, I hardly use it, but now I'll be thinking about throwing it out more. I don't know how many 100+ damage wall combos have been done to me in the last two days, but if I can balance that out with just one bodycheck, then i'd be happy. Those wall combos are too easy to get and most of the initial moves are low risk so it's easy for people to spam them over and over.

Personally, I've always thought Akira was strong, but the simple fact of it is... no matter how strong he is, I can't outplay most of the people here. Maybe at high level play he's a beast, but until I get better, I doubt 120pts bodycheck is really gonna get me wins. At this point, I'd rather have a full circular move. Yes, I suck at the game.

As for the backstep followups, they are all blockable. The palm followup can be delayed a good amount, so you can catch people that way. I don't think the stomp is delayable tho.

difference here is that Reno plays in Japan so he's getting a first hand education.

This has to be VF3 as Jacky never had [P][P][6][K]in VF2. the knee continuation wouldn't have been guaranteed though, I don't think.

Sure, but it was apparent even if you haven't played it.

I'm starting to like Body Check [IMG]
I think it's going to be a selling point for VF.
VF's poster boy has always been Akira but he is the hardest and least fun to play character for most casual gamers.
It makes sense that they would give him a try since he's on the cover and looks like Ryu but once they would start playing with him their interest in Akira (and sometimes the game altogher) would disappear.

SF players would be expecting a character like Ryu and Tekken players would expect a character like Paul. I think that Body Check is going to make Akira a HUGE hit amongst casual gamers.
    Specially online.
People, this is a good thing. If (obviously) this game is ever released on consoles (not holding my breath) Akira will give noobs and casual gamers the edge that they desire without putting in the work on learning combos, strats, other characters or even other Akira moves. All they have to do is 2 Body Checks.

Sorry guys, but we live in a fast food nation. We want shit NOW. Most people don't want to work for damage and go to practice mode and wait and learn, etc. When in a game like Tekken or SF they can do a few joystick motions and be able to take away half of an opponent's life bar O_O

How could VF compete with Ultras, full life bar combos and easy to do moves with low risk and high reward?
    Body Check.

I bet there's a lot of gamers out there right now that want to play this game just because of Akira's Body Check. It's power. That's why a lot of casual gamers out there play these games for. Power. They immediate gratification that a move like Body Check provides and to be able to beat a way better player than you with just 2 well timed and well placed moves is going to draw in more players than it's going to push away.

I'm not going to lie, if the game comes stateside I'm going to play Akira just to see how fast I can kill noobs with body check.
If only it was done in a hadoken motion VF would sell a thousand more copies =)

I'd just pick the another cheap character and cheese these n00bz to death. That should deal with body check..

    Come on guys!
The same shit situation(probably worse) has alrady happened in Vanilla but no one complains until bodaycheck now in FS. [IMG]

If you guys don't emphasis on "one move" cause huge damage, it's much easier to accept it.

When getting caught on a failed evade in FS is it only half circular/circular moves that grant the CH?

If not bodycheck will surely be the best delayed move in the game.

Crouch dash up body check for scary close range bodycheck/single palm/throw/guard break pressure even if they don't evade.

What do you mean by this?

Yes only half/full circulars have that property.

    No.
