Everybody who's anybody know when it comes to Jacky 2p kills him after the first hit of damn near all his strings. Study, play to learn and maybe you will get somewhere. You think its by coincidence that Good Jacky players get the one up on you because you have trouble adapting? Oh please that Bodycheck is spammible after safe pokes and it is broken. If the command stays the same and its not charge then its bullshit. This ain't VF1 so they must do away with this. if it was VF1 then Jacky's backflp would do the same damage it did back then also.

Combos can be fluffed and strings can be blocked. Akiras body check in VF5 isn't even that bad imo. A 13f knock down with good range and side crumples-that's pretty damned good.

Having a single move take off so much damage is incredibly unbalanced. Even if you block it you prob won't be able to do as much if it had hit, that looked like 80-90points! :S

Um... yeah, AM2 put it there, so surely it means it's there to stay because poor Akira needed it... OR...

...maybe they've put it there to test it out, seeing as it's a location test? AM2 put a lot of stuff in the game before, like throw clash, TFT, rainbow sabaki, high-speed Vanessa, Vanessa's reversals, Taka - and those things were in retail versions, not tests even, and gone soon. It's not like everything they put works out as an AWESOME idea in the end, and they are first to admit apparently.

A bit off-topic (btw LOLOLOL 90 POINTS NERF) I wonder how many throws Goh has... It appears that all strong tsukami throws have become single direction, which is good, and awesome looking, which is awesome, but I'd really love it if someone would just grab him then try out throws for like 3 rounds... [IMG] Would be nice to see if he has ANY classic judo left besides his P+G.

Damage on FS bodycheck is an experiment?!

As far as I know, vanilla 5 is the lowest bodycheck damage has been and the crumple on side hit is unique to that version of VF. So if there's ever been any experimenting with bodycheck it was in vanilla 5 and FS is a return to the norm.

EDIT: Just watched the vid and i'm glad [6][K][P] is there, was worried that move might have been removed. Nice to see the launcher from DLC too, can't wait to see what kind of followups can be done from that [IMG]

Well, the whole formula of the game has changed a lot since vanilla even, with new types of stuns, closer walls, wall splats, different throws... Damage dealt by characters is different (mostly higher) so I think it's not too far-fetched that it's what prompted AM2 to tweak BC WAY up in this version.

And no, I didn't say it's "an experiment". I said that it's a location test, so it's safe to say they're probably testing stuff, though I cannot know anything for sure, now can I.

Too early to cry, rage or cheer about any changes imo though.

I hadn't seen a lot of akira vids, but from what I have seen. Does he seem slower to you guys?

Since lifebars now are 220hp and Eileen had more then half life coming into the move I'd say it's more close to 110hp in damage in the movie.

Looks about 110 to me as well KiwE.

Borris i've seen most characters do 100ish damage from their launchers in FS, even more when the wall comes into play so risk/reward is fairly balanced imo.

That Akira though... he has moves that are safe that do close to 80 damage (maybe even more), so I don't see what the big fuss with bodycheck is about.

There's alot of bile in this thread over the good ol' bodycheck. It's gonna be everything counterable & to get one like that the opponent needs to show their back to Akira or be predictable with their strings or setups in such a way that Akira can evade to their back and rock them.

The execution of the move is irrelevant because face to face the damage even for a direct hit MC bodycheck won't be 30% & if you don't interrupt the damage will be slight.

I wouldn't be freaking out if they end up toning down the damage a shade, but that video simply seems to indicate a return to form for a move that was gratifying, fun to use & not out of balance with the rest of VF4 given the conditions necessary to get that kind of result.

The bodycheck looks like counterhit damage to me. I wouldn't worry too much about it to be honest.

Whoa, Goh can Combo after his new [3][K][P]? (At least, that's what I'm guessing the input is). Damn, that's awesome and it looks like [3][K] staggers on counter-hit now... Let me get this straight, [3][K] staggers on CH, and can lead to 80+ damage combos? That's quite an improvement from the VF5/VF5R version to say the least [IMG]. Also, that back direction Tsukami throw? Absolutely brutal. Goh's just going psycho on people with Tsukami now; I can't wait to use it in FS.

Nice change to Goh's [3][K][+][G] [P][+][G]! The animation looks a lot more realistic now compared to how it is in Version C of R. I wonder if the down attack after it is guaranteed or not though? If not, then I'm not sure it's really worth using anymore for just 55 damage.

The command for that move was changed to 6K+G in R.

My concern is that it's a single move. At least combos can be fluffed and strings blocked...but I suppose we'll just have to trust that Sega will balance it out and give the same opportunities to other chars.

I haven't seen much launcher damage in R/FS, at least for Lion launcher dmg only looked marginally increased but wall combos looked pretty crazy.
