Looking at the list in the original post, there is a lot of good stuff there. Some of the things there can't be too hard to implement either. I hope someone, somewhere sees it and acts upon it.

It would be nice but I get this feeling Sega will simply do an arcade port and leave it at that. I mean we haven't heard a single thing since they announced it.

I do like Jinxhand idea of VF4EVO style wallpaper customization etc.

still think these are some of the best ideas. An option to upload directly to an individuals Youtube channel would also be great.

Anyway, since Sega hasn't leaked any new information since revealing the game is coming I honest try not to think about what they will do to much. All I can hope for is a fucking player match kick button (A MUST) and VF4EVO style training mode. An option in training mode to set the CPU to do any move in there set on hit or block, standing or crouching would be the icing on the cake.

Feck - do you by any chance have an updated features request since the September one? I think there are enough people that would like story mode (and if there are anything else missing since the last post) that it should be updated. If you do not, I can edit the original post later.

I had an updated one but lost it, I don't mind going through the thread again and updating it. I'll get it done this week, could do with a little help explaining some of the features a bit better if anyone is willing to help me.

That would be pretty well perfect.

Hi people, sorry i don't pop in as much but i'd certainly like to add to this thread's debate if you'll find anything i add to be helpful and whatnot. Some of it may already what you've already said but if so if i say what somebody else has already mentioned, then please see it as added support for the very same things asked of a; VF5:FS console release etc and not an intrusion to what somebody else previously said.

Might also do this in several parts cos i got alot to add o.k. and don't want one massive long post clogging up your threaded replies o.k.

Solidus' VF5 Final Showdown Console Feature Wish List

    Gameplay within VF5:FS

    * - A regular "VF5:FS mode" (i.e. the final version chosen for home consoles) along with a.....

    "VF5-R mode"
as well. For the majority of VF fans outisde of Japan who never got to play it. This would be akin to having both Virtua Fighter 2 and Virtua Fighter 2.1 on the old Sega Saturn release etc. Fans around the world would finally be able to play the latest VF5: FS and its predecessor which they didn't get to play. And it would more or less be a bonus of the previous VF game added for replay value. Also being able to hold a various VF5-R tournies or have Vs battles, arcade mode, training modes etc would be a nostalgia blast for those who missed playing it let alone the majority who never had a chance to play it originally.

    * - Virtua Fighter 5 Tag-Battle. Reminiscent of VF3-TB, would allow players to team up their favorite characters together for a tag-team style battles of; 3Vs3 "Arcade" Vs games once again.

A playable Dural within; Arcade/Tournament, Quest & training modes. VF5 today is the only game where the boss character is only used for 'fun' in casuals and non-online play matches with friends. And basically not include her for any serious tournament play. All Sega and AM2 would realistically have to do here. Is to make her optional for actual usage in VF5 competition by lowering her 'damage scaling' and range of moves (hitboxes), unlike the CPU controlled boss version of Dural. And basically make her less overpowering altogether thus making her perfectly usable in regular game play and exceptable all round.

    * - Colour edit mode. Much akin to KOF-13, why isn't there an option where i can chosen any of the following A,B,C and D default costumes and recolour them to my liking? if for example i chose; Lau with costume 'C' in his usual green outfit, and with a colour edit mode i should then be able to recolour my likable costume pick and outfit him with any colour combination i so wish.

This would be more preferable than to merely having to weirdly customizing your character *cosplay style* as not everyone/VF player, is into dressing their characters in a weird fashion etc?

Slow motion replays from the earlier VF games (by holding all three buttons; "Guard, Punch, Kick")

Make "rage quitting" heavily punishable and also count as a loss. Loss of privileges online around the regular VF community of players by identifying their IP addresses and whatnot should also made known to XBLA or PSN to lessen idiotic behavior from sore losers in general.

Have the ability to refuse to play someone who joins your game if they're transgressed in the past or is known to be troublesome.

    * - Online Lobbies: Lobby are to allow friends and other like-minded people to spend time together while playing VF. While disruptive behavior shouldn't be allowed, Lobbies also shouldn't descent into becoming heavily *clique based* around a circle of close friends only, in a group of skilled or good players who don't usually want to share with others themselves. And the lobby/ies in general should be made readily available to everyone long as they get along and want to play each other.

Online XBLA or PSN cliques within games communities are just as equally bad as "rage quitters", they're in it for themselves and don't want to either share or get along with others. This should also be punished! 'Gaming Cliques' should play offline if they don't want anybody else coming into their online gaming group sessions etc? this should be done so lobbies and their usage isn't to be abused at any given time.

    Continued

    Tournament mode (for offline gamers)

*- An offline version as well as the regular one for online. The offline one differs from the fact its got its own screen options for offline play where a X-Box360 or PS3 can also be setup for "linked-play" between several consoles. Or simply has the regular mode options to satisfy gamers who aren't going online but have the same or similar benefits to accomidate themselves.

    Button configuration.

At character select screen, drumming inputs, link to profile

    Dojo/Training

    * - Record and Playback in Training Mode (similar to VF4 Evolution, with multiple action playback)
A VF4 Evolution style Tutorial mode - Feel this is really important for the game, new players would struggle less adapting to Virtua Fighter.

    * - Backgrounds stages from the original; VF5, VF5-R and VF5:FS. With ones from VF4 and VF4:Evo added (As DLC in packages etc?) upscaled or redone but also given here as a choice of training stage.

    Online

*- G.G.P.O. Style Netcode (Don't do what KOF 13? failed to do.)

    * - Spectator mode/Watch mode

    * - Character/Stage select option after each match or just straight into a rematch.

    * - Play single player modes or Train while we wait for online matches, similar to SF4's Fight Request option.

    * - In game replay channel, where players can upload/share replays to youtube, vimeo etc.

    * - Playing online should be *region coded* specifically: North America, South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. To where you are. So you can see what lobbies, tournaments to join up to or wait in or chosen a close connection area where your speed will be excellent etc.

    * - Location info is given via text screens informing the player of his/her best options available to them prior to any gameplay whatsoever online.

    * - The ability to deny a match if the connection is bad (one or lower) this a MUST unfortunately.

    * - Ability to win items, Orbs, VF money/Points etc. during online matches. Some single player exclusive items are welcome.

    * - The option to set up Tournaments and team battles online. And include several options like; "First to 5", "Best of 7 Series", "Survival Mode Challenge", "Gaunlet matches", "Winner stays on". Also with the cool option to let your tournament winner join another tournament i.e. tournaments benefit from X-Box360 or PS3 linked play! So one winner of a VF5:FS tournament on one game console can play the winner of another console (through a linked play setup) or online.

    * - Better matchmaking, including options to set connection requirements and strict punishment for cable pullers (disconnection counts as a loss/demotion)

    * - Online lobbies (with configurable lobby size) + . Online netcode similar to VF5 online or better.

    * - Add a prompt when first playing online, or leaving lobbies.

    * - Viewable stats, like hours played, character usage, amount of matches played, current ranking/promotions etc.

    DLC

    * - Full DLC support, including item packs and revision updates from the arcade released after the home port.

    * - Reasonable priced DLC.

    * - VF series Artwork, screensavers/wallpaper, VF remixed music tracks,

    * - VF4/Evolution custom items for DLC

    * - The old character poses from previous Virtua Fighter games being DLC in packages to use for customization? Why characters like 'Lion' for example no longer has his old: "Why am i so great" perfect pose (if he got a perfect win) isn't in the game anymore i don't know. But it certainly would be quite clever and neat if DLC packaged the old poses as downloadable content and it opened up a whole host of options to play and use these older poses again for your characters in VF5:FS.

DLC: Older VF character moves: It'll be interesting if older movesets could be once again used in Final Showdown that certain characters have lost over the years through particular game iterations/versions.

Jacky's old VF4: "Lightning Storm/Lightning Low" (along side his regular "Lightning Kick"), Jacky's "Kiss Of The Dragon" VF4:Evo move, Wolf and Jeffry's "ground pick-up" (Double Claw) move from VF3/VF4, Vanessa Lewis old VF4 regular moves, Wolf Hawkfield's "Double-German Suplex", "Pendulum Lariat", "Toe-Kick-Stunner/Stone Cold Stunner", "Calf Branding" and "Crossface Armbreaker" from VF4:Evo, Lau's double 'mid-air' stomp on an opponent (VF2).

Basically moves dropped from characters over the years made available once again via 'DLC' for later customization if at all made possible by VF5:FS system that is?!

    Other

    * - Improved AI (akin to VF2, have the CPU A.I. on harder settings to copy the strongest combos from the best players to be used in regular matches)

    * - A grading system along with Viewable stats to see and analyze what players with which characters and their usage of them. Might have particular strengths & weaknesses in exact areas per se? I.E.; Offence, Defense, Tactics/Strategy (measured under say *technical ability*), Combos, Footies, Execution. And to be graded upon them per game. So not even expert VF players always will not always earn the highest scores cos the repeated same strategies/attack patterns per se aren't rewarded but punished "grading-wise" by the system (i.e. some sort of balance is maintained this way?), they could be demoted in ranking for pure *cheepness* or lack of ability in certain areas with certain characters, or deliberately choosing a lower-ranked person to play against i.e. newbie to get more wins.

    * - VF5R stages

    * - The option to choose past VF music for; vanilla VF5, VF5R and FS stages.

    * - Option to change camera angles during replays, including free camera.

    * - The old "SEGA" voiceover clip from the Sega Megadrive/Genesis to be included as per usual with any VF title game release.

    * - Custom arcade player intros

Pre-match animations/customisations. Thus giving the players the ability to customise the VF characters intro as it shows off characters differently .Allow for online matches as well, with an on & off option to boot.

    * - A No-Holds Barred Mode: For years in the early days of Virtua Fighter, it was always asked if the ring-out option could be switched off? And allow players to fight all over the stages.

For fun i and many gamers often wondered if such an option could finally be added to a VF title for once? Even if it was merely for fun just to see the VF characters fight without any restrictions whatsoever would be very interesting to see this happen for once? Nothing serious has to be made of it, its just a playful fun option to engage gamers in exploring the wonderous backgrounds stages and being able to finally fight everywheres and fulfil that VF series fantasy without the ring-out feature being a major tactical part of the game.

This as a fun bonus feature game, would open up some theories as to what the game's actually like to play, without the "ring-out" factor being an object of gameplay VF's actually built around.

    *- Combo-ing the Giant lettering (VF2 style).

To input your name after you completed the earlier games, you had to go up to giant letters and floor 3 different letters to put your tag name in? And then combo "the end" icon to finish. be interesting to see that included as a silly bonus feature to engage some of the nostalgia factor of the previous VF's. And be something silly and fun to practice combos on.

    End of the list requirements!

Oh and please "SEGA", I'd love to see a DISC release at some point after the digital download release. Logically within a year to say; 18 to 21 months at the most give or take. After XBLA and PSN have blown up with enough VF5:FS place this onto console (X-Box, PS3, PC and anything thats current upon release date etc's?) as a disc title and watch those beautiful sales of the final VF5 product, make you a ton of money!!!

I hope i've been extremely helpful if not a little too "nostalgic myself" but i figured after reading most of the pages in thsi thread, this is considered by many to be the VF series final chance at having something special come out this summer after the long ass waiting around for VF5 to be treated right or so by Sega.

Anyways hope i showed you all the necessary passion for this game. And sincerely hope i've contributed as best i can.

    Laters!

Cool features you wish but the game will stick with FS version, and that means "team battle" and "old moves" are not available no doubt. I really enjoy TB mode and hopefully SEGA can do this once again in following VF.

All DLC like arcade has is the priority, plus good dojo and online connection. [IMG]

Well i KNOW i added cool features on here fella, thats why i gave them out. Now unless Sega themselves told you directly, how do you know they (Sega) won't add anything like a bonus such as; 'VF5-R' as a possible bonus "mode" or something? So far they've said FS coming out, but i can't see why suggesting by adding 'VF5-R' as a bonus onto VF5:FS release could possibly at all ever be considered a bad thing whatsoever. If you were open minded you'd see it as a viable option instead of all things VF5:FS without adding some previous VF series elements into it.

The game obviously should come out as its own title, with whats expected behind a fighting game title console extras these days, but unless its got any real cool features like several of the suggested extras many people on here and myself have suggested to go along with its eventual release this summer. I hardly think a 'barebones' release will satisfy anybody at all, unless there's some imagination and some obviously creative features behind Sega's decision to put VF5:FS out there finally.

You for example might be an individual who's voice says "no", but others out there like myself in the wilderness i.e. the world at large, who also play Virtua Fighter who would say "yes" instead, cos thats exactly what they themselves have envisioned and would certainly like to see in Final Showdown when it comes out.

Hoping and wishing aren't too far removed from each other ya know?

Actually, I read an interview in which a SEGA rep said that online tournaments will not be included.

It's not about open mindedness, Solidus. You made many fair suggestions, but SEGA seems to have kept each version of VF5 more or less separate from each other. I'd really like to see time and music options to reflect all three versions, but I agree with Dennis that we probably won't see many such features. Don't take it so personally that he and I doubt it.

Forgive me if i sounded a tad forceful in the last reply earlier but i was taken back by the kinda; "nah cos its FS or nothing" response, which i got.

Whether its VF5 vanilla, VF5-R or VF5:FS all 3 are still quite technically the same 'exact' game which really should go without saying. Its only that changes to its gameplay is greatly overhaul which has occurred inbetween several versions and their A,B,C and D upgrades is all. Under the whole VF5 umbrella title itself however it simply meant to me and i'm sure others out there, that VF5-R might as well be placed on there considering the original petition on this website a while ago; WAS to get that version released prior to 'Final Showdown' coming out via Sega which still shocked everybody that another Vf5 was coming out and not development news on say a VF6?

And the majority of VF fans were denied the chance to play VF5-R unless they outright lived in Japan or had traveled to play it in Japan themselves from 2008 to 2010 or so.

So basically i've tired to keep the 'added features' i offered up and suggested on here, as realistic as possible Genesis and avoid what had already been said by others. But one has to be honest, unless this game is packed with features somewhat it'll bore players or fans of any FG title quite quickly. Nothing was personally taken by me and i don't want to make it seem if i was chewing Dennis' head off, wasn't the intention at all of somebody new around here. I wanted to make it clear though that we're all having opinions about this release (*hands in the air to celebrate*) and thus everyone's opinion on here intelligently put forward can be heard without being simply thrown aside is all.

So agreed. If there's one thing the VF games have got down solid its their sick; soundtracks of this incredible game series. I hope for an XBLA and PSN title coming out soon, that this is one extra that Sega is obviously including from all the versions of VF5 in FS as a "MUST"!

    Cheers! [IMG]

No mention of VF5FS even though Skullgirls and Persona 4 are shown. VF5FS console port really seems to be forgotten about and is in danger of being drowned out by all the other better marketed games. I wonder if Sega will actually try to build hype leading up to the release.

If they do, I really hope they start to do so, soon. I actually just wrote what I think is a clever commercial for the game. I plan on getting it shot within a month. Of course, I wouldn't have much means to pitch it to SEGA, let alone considering whether the company would greenlight it.

Yeah this is exactly why an announcement of VF5:FS last summer still isn't enough by Sega to please the tons fans out there! [IMG] [IMG]

As we all know the lacking support for the Virtua Fighter series right now, just isn't shown by Sega for a good while now, otherwise VF5-R would've been an internationally previously released game disc title over 2 years ago by now and so far this isn't the case? Its very sad and shocking as to why Final Showdown for example, isn't even in that recent announced trailer of 2012 fighting games.

Thanks anyways for this heads up Shoju, much appreciated! [IMG]

When Haunts and IPlayWinner did the stream at the PAX where Syzygy (one of the members of this board and one of the developers on the console version of FS) answered some questions about the game, I asked about team battle and he said there were no plans to add that to the game.

So chances are it's not in.

Maybe they want VF3:TB to be the only one that had a 'tag' feature and leave it to be the only unique VF game in the series i don't know? But its an odd choice to not do it again though, cos a tag feature in Virtua Fighter 5 would really amp up the ability to have a team of your own formed and engage in multiple tag-team battles, and stretch out the strategies of playing the game with multiple characters on one team of 3Vs3. Certainly would be quite a challenge once again if a Tag-Battle feature was added to a Virtua Fighter title game again.

Surely with the advancements in technology today since VF3 came out on the Model-3 board back then in the mid 90's, Sega can afford to make significant changes allowing for simultaneous loading times and the massive graphical changes and technical issues since VF5 been out. Sigh if only the damn developers had the same level of passion gamers have and see the potential this would really have for the series in general. Cos any fan would love for this to be included into VF5:FS upcoming console version or a VF6 (if Sega are even working on that at all?) in the near future god willing.

It's may not be in. But they know we always ask as fans and have some knowledge of what we're thinking for this series though. You'd think they'd 'click' onto any of that and possibly change their minds. Thanks for that anyways Ash_Kaiser. Here' hoping those developers have the movie; "Field Of Dreams" in their DVD collection and give that movie a whirl or two every now and then and at least get a clue if they build it, 'we will come' (and buy their next VF product!).
