shockingly enough..i wouldn't mind sega pulling a namco and add online training modes where rather then it being a huge fight, pros and people who just started could learn inputs together, i also wouldn't mind. them adding a group ranking system, like say you and two friends have a group. and you level by fighting online together. kinda like what TTT2 did with their card system. that and bring back older models from older games like what VF4evo did with the VF1 character unlock. XD

    Push button button configuration please!

SF4 MvC3 and KoF13 have the slow old way of scrolling through each action per button. Why won't they use push button button config?

it would be awesome if Sega implemented some way of having region based Star Players or giving people the chance to obtain some rare exclusive titles.

Think how awesome it would be to log on for a few games, your hosting and Seidon joins and he is a Euro star player? Myke repping Australia, GT for the USA, etc.

    just a thought!

Hopefully we can at least add the 2 lines of PR to our profiles.

I remember those days playing quake 3 getting my ass kicked by PC users.

I don't think Cross Platform play between PS3 and 360 is that far fetched Tengu, game developers have certainly played around with it and had it fully functional.

So uh have their been any updates? Japan or otherwise? Kinda weird not to hear anything this far into it.

Nope. It is a little disappointing not to hear anything after the initial announcement. I thought Sega reps say they will keep the fan base more regularly up-to-date on the console version...maybe they mean near the release date...oh well.

i've been looking around for new news on VF5:FS and well i'm pretty sure it's not true but going across the wiki i found out that their doing a PS Vita port? i don't believe this. but i would be really happy if it was the case. but still with there not being much news i don't think we can trust wiki too much more. XD

"It was announced at Gamescom 2011 that Final Showdown would be coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita in Summer 2012, complete with online play for both platforms. The game will be released in downloadable format."

So that's what the article says on wikipedia.

I'm pretty sure there was no mention of a PS Vita port at Gamescom, there's been no word of FS on consoles since then either so not like they could have got the info elsewhere.

"online play for both platforms" Seems like poor trolling to me [IMG]

Since that wasn't true for VF5, I think its important to mention that. No matter how botched up it is.

Just give me that bingo tournaments feature from the arcade, and I'll be happy.

Wow, great news if a new VF does come to console. I had not been around for quite a while. I hope it does not take too long for this game to hit console.

Seeing that FS is going to be downloadable console release. Wats up with the strategy guide and game manual?

I know the experienced VFers don't need those, but for some players VF5FS will be there first VF. Wats up wit dat?

Or is the downloadable release really only targeted to existing players?

Or will strategy guide and manual be in the game as part of tutorial or somethin... [IMG]

More official information will come out after KS event I guess. Simple tutorial is necessary and most of us want next level decent dojo for sure.

Yeah imo, this is truly Sega's last attempt at capturing the Western audience and keeping that hold on lock. If Sega wants to do that, this bait better have as many "hooks" as possible to cater to many different types of fans... Sure, there's gonna be the online warriors, the gotta catch em all casuals who play just to collect items, the true hardcore to name a few, but there's also those cats who want a good story of some sort without having to read the manual...

FS needs to have other reasons for replayability other than it's a fighting game. Be it simple changes to certain modes, or a straight up add-on, it needs to truly happen in order to stand out. VF isn't just competing against 3d fighters, it's going against both 2d and 3d, and right now, it's like Battle Royale!!! Sega, don't give us the Peter Pan knife, give us a friggin' Gundam!!!

    * Have frequent updates the list of items to win/purchase/unlock/etc
    * Have a vast amount of challenges in arcade mode, with different routes (a la Fighters Megamix)
    * Update the list of challenges
    * Have some sort of story that fans can sink their teeth into (with readable bio info)
    * Make the game fully customizable like 4EVO but push that to the max (wallpapers, window color scheme, color change outfits/hair/eyes/skin
    * Make things unlockable by playing any mode, especially online mode!!!
    * Allow Money/Item/Orb/Key/Whatever matches online in both rank and player matches
    * Have different older VF graphic palettes like 4EVO (but add a VF3 & VF4 palette, too)
    * Make a more indepth VF.net, where people can upload, save or simply watch videos.
    * Make the info on the replay save function more like 4EVO (with date, time, and char info) but include the player's gamertag.
    * Have a decent demo with 4 characters (Akira, Goh, Jean, and Vanessa).
    * Advertise, advertise, advertise!!!
    * Most importantly: STAY CONNECTED TO THE COMMUNITY!!! Lurking the boards is a start, but we'd like to hear/read from you as well. One demo isn't gonna keep the hype meter burning for many. You have to keep throwing logs in that flame, or at the very least troll us Ono style...

Many of these points are rehashed, but oh well...
