Well guys Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown was showed at TGS. Unfortunately it was the arcade version, as the 8th annual arcadia cup was held at TGS. Whats interesting about this is Gamespot sent me this news update. Up until now Gamespot has been completely silent about VF5Fs in the news. Hmmmmmmm.

Is it too early to say that SEGA is making progress???

No, I don't see it as foreshadowing. Seems to me it was just basic information on what was shown at TGS.

Gamespot was silent, because there's nothing to talk about...

No , I mean Gamespot didn't even acknowledge VF 5 FS existence , not even a footnote. Or VF5 R, for that matter. Nothing was mentioned forthe FS location test or arcade release. Arcades just get any attention in the press, a sign of the times.

I really think that VF5R will be the first one that will be released to consoles.

    But.... let's not lose hope.

I think SEGA needs to give us FS and forget about R.

Giving us both games will sunder the community right in half, we definitely don't want that.

As long as we get the final, definitive version of VF5 I will be happy. I was looking around the internet and have seen A LOT of posts on different forums hoping for VF5 FS on console. I think there is some merit in demarcating the time before SFIV on consoles and after. VF5 came before, most of the fighting games' resurgence occurred after. I think SEGA is still looking at the older market picture, which is no longer accurate, and making poor decisions based off of that error.

    WTF

    OK

I really think I can drown a cat in my coffee.

I really think you walk upside-down on your fingertips as long as you support your elbows with a DD cup bra as long as you keep shouting backwards that you are 124 and everyone needs to know what you think at any instant which you're pretty sure is diagonally untrue and massive obsession compels you and I really think you aren't even confused by this because I really think you read all this not really unthinkable nonsense and really think...

    "Yeah. So?"

Damn it. Another drowned cat. Coffee tastes like shit now.

124 is unique... let's not lose hope.

I think people shouldn't waste their time with VF and go play more fun company supported fighting games like Tekken 6 or SSF4

Depends if this community have a preference for either or both of the two games you are recommending.

How am I wasting my time playing a game I enjoy?

Wouldn't I be wasting my time by playing a game I don't enjoy?

Exactly. Sega and their support of the community suck, but that doesn't stop VF5 being a fantastic game to play. And isn't that what it's all about at the end of the day?
It's still my most played game because it's the game I enjoy the most. There is still a lot of life left in what we have.

Maybe got some good & freas ideas how we can create better lobby? Room witx much (how many online players for choise). Hard-kick from room, manual settings (advanced users selections in lobby?). For good online play players must serch from boards or Internet players with optimal lowest ping ant test the I/C). Radnom player selection like in Tekken 6 (random matches is not good at well [IMG]

SSF4 isnt fun, neither is tekken 6.

I understand the idea of the community aspect, but I cant stand some of the SF4 community...

Comes down to the game, a lot of the people I enjoyed playing in VF5 stopped playing a long time ago. Hell even the people I didn't like playing which still means something. There's a certain euphoric release in beating someone you have decided to cyber hate.

The game keeps me coming back.
(and my lack of desire to buy a new game hah; bought SSFIV and all it does is sit in its box.)

The problem with Virtua Fighter 5 isn't Virtua Fighter 5; it's the lack of Sega support for it. Why Sega has backed out of Virtua Fighter support beyond the seas of Japan is beyond me.

Sega must be looking at the resurgence of fighting games with SF4 and Tekken 6, and surely they want a piece of that pie. There are a few thing I think VF is missing in terms of other fighters.

Firstly a proper story mode, maybe not even character specific, but we do need FMV ending movies. People like unlockables and plenty of rewards.

A more in depth quest mode goes without saying, however how about making it even more like a real arcade experience? Maybe have several options when you beat your opponents, shake their hands, taunt them or maybe just walk away. These options would then determine rivals and possible allies for tournaments. Becoming champion of a certain arcade would mean other players would challenge you for your title. You could even have secret items for your characters that can only be unlocked by defeating several rivals or gaining several friends. You could even boast certain conditions before match's, such as "I will beat them by using just throws"

A similar mechanic to that of VF4 EVO's quest mode, where you could complete tasks.

Make the game more console friendly and less arcade repetition.

    VF has unblockables.

Team tournaments in quest mode would be pretty sick.

Oh, and making the achievements a bit more varied would be good.
