Is that so? I think I'll get the demo first then. Definitely getting the full game but I want to see what Sega makes available to people checking out the game!

I've always thought it was weird how they have big tournaments right after games drop so no one could be very practiced by the start of the competition. Why not give people 2 months to play before 15K is up for grabs instead of a couple weeks?

They want Fuudo to win their money back :p jk jk
but it seems rather odd that SEGA of all people is putting 15K up for a tournament, it shows that SEGA wants VF5FS to be successive at least.

One thing though...I wonder if you still can rec. local matches like you could before in VF5?

I've just realised this but I can see why you can only record 3 options.

You can only escape 1 throw anyway... [IMG]

Obviously you can throw in more moves to mix it up but still.

Good point about SEGA putting up 15K being a sign they want the game to succeed. I think it will do just that personally - people are going to buy this game.

One burning question I still have is how big will the game be? Vanilla 5 ver. C was a little over 5 gigs and FS has more characters and more stages. However, there's supposedly a hard limit of 2 gigs for xbla games, and that's a technical limit, not just a policy.

Thus I'm very curious how big FS will be and if it will be an arcade game or if it will be part of games on demand section.

1st question in FAQ - Xbox Live Arcade game. Thus it is very likely 2GB at max.

Alright! Sega dropped a hint. At least they gave us something. I know that it's apparently not Sega's decision to say exactly when the game will come out, but wow, I can't believe that FS could possibly be only 3 weeks away. After all this time... and it could just be out, just like that. Sitting on XBL and PSN, and you just... download it. Mind-boggling!

Also, I wonder if Sega has a bunch of videos ready that detail everything in the game that we haven't seen yet? (Online, special sparing, item packs etc.) Because FS is possibly getting really close to release here! Maybe we'll just have to buy it and find out that way? Not that I mind being surprised, but some videos would be a great way for new players to see some new features. You need some stuff for people to share on forums and such, Sega!

Please somebody correct me if Im wrong but Sony & MS certification process should take al least 4 weeks, then the game has to go through both services launch pipelines, which could take longer depending on the number of games waiting to be released.

I think the pre-launch party event give us a clue of when Sega expects to have a definitive launch date, and thats normally 3 weeks before the release.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I heard, in one of Shidosha's interviews with someone, that they are keeping the exact same netcode as Vanilla for VF5FS?

Because if that's true, I'm a little disappointed. The VF5 Vanilla netcode isn't terrible but it definitely leaves a bit to be desired. Practically every fighting game release since vanilla came out has had better netcode. Hoping that I'm either wrong, or that its slightly modified in some way.

I didn't feel this warrented a whole new thread so I'll ask this here:

Is it just me or are the graphics on the console version worse than the arcade? They look less detailed somehow, I don't know if it's fewer polygons or lower quality textures or what.

I want to know what people who've actually played the acrdade game think as I've only seen the arcade version in grainy, 480 and below Youtube videos (whilst the console footage I've seen has all been HD) so maybe that hides the issues I'm talking about and they actually look identical.

Sega said this would be 100% arcade accurate, I hope they're not lying. Of course I'm still buying this the day it comes out but it would be a shame if they sacrificed the graphics to keep the file size down, especially as I've always thought VF5 was a rather good looking game.

It is not the same netcode as Vanilla VF5. It was mentioned to be similar to the netcode used for Daytona USA.

It was mentioned by Frank Hom that if you compared the console graphics to the arcade, the console actually look slightly better. Japanese players that got to play the console demo during Kakutou Shinseiki VI mentioned the graphics are identical or better than the arcade.

That's good to know. I think part of the problem is that with the console footage the HD makes everything look a hell of a lot smoother, so the character's look more "toy" like by comparison.

I never played Daytona so I have to ask, is having netcode similar to that game a good thing?

Page from Console Features Thread about Daytona USA code.

From Frank - Stress testing online, at 8K speed (close to dialup speed) spectators had very bad lag / but for the players playing the match it was decent. At 16K players had a good connection.

It was also mentioned that the VF5FS network code was made so that spectators in the lobby will not affect the connection between the two players fighting a match.
