The picture shows "1st STAGE" on the middle top, and you can count there are 6 stages as total. Apparently it's not Quest Mode, but something similar.

I am quite sure it will most likely be 720P

Curious about all the reasons to release this as download only.

Could it possibly be that another reason to release VF5FS as download only is as a dress rehearsal for the PS4 & Xbox 720?
Some of the rumors of those new consoles is that they will focus on digital distribution (partially to get a way from the used games market)

Maybe Sega is working out all of the kinks of digitial distribution on the PS3 in preparation for VF6 on the PS4 [IMG]

I still find it odd (although I'm happy to get VF5FS) that it is a downloadable only release. But getting ready for the PS4
    kind-a-makes-a-little-more-sense hmmm....?

Maybe PS3/XBOX360 is the end of the line for games distributed on disks [IMG]

Masterpo - As most of these questions are not pertinent to the actual VF5FS game itself, it really is the wrong thread to be speculating about new consoles and what else. The official reason from Sega is that it is the best way for them to sell the VF5FS game.

At Final round, they said the reason was that they were uncertain it would sell given how VF5 did. They think there's a chance, but they're not sure. This was a way to minimize their risk, as they avoid the retail costs. It's expensive to release discs.

They also flat-out said if this flops, no more VF console.

Is it confirmed that the item win poses are included? I hope that.

I think the choice to make it download-only makes a lot of sense. It not only eases cost of production and distribution, but it keeps up that semi-arcade feel. I guess that's what they're going for - the neo-arcade. I might be wrong, but I'm just spitballing, here.

I'm pretty confident that Final Showdown will do well, or well enough to constitute a continuation of console releases.

A little off-topic concerning VF in future console releases. I hope if there is a VF6, SEGA takes a good look at VF and doesn't release so many updates. I feel that could boost consumer confidence as well, especially not knowing if we will get the latest release. We are really lucky to be getting this at all.

I know the counter arguement is balance, but the guys at AM2 have been working on VF for how long? I know it's not the exact same membersin every dept. but there are enough senior members to know what's going on. I like balance don't get me wrong, but it would be nice to have no more than 3 updates spread out over time to keep things fresh, yet not feel like you have to relean something every 6 months because of how the character and or game changed. Constant updates like NRS did with MK, and ArcSys did with GG and BB are put off.

I see what you're getting at. I agree that it seems a little excessive to make so many updates. It's one thing in the arcades, I guess, as it seems to work. It just makes more sense to me to await the kind of update seen in R or Final Showdown to put those tweaks out there for all to see.

Sega Blog Post about Evo appear to suggest a release before the Evo event:

Thus, it is likely the game will be released somewhere between May 19, 2012 - July 6, 2012. FAQ updated with small bit of news.

Because it's out of their control. MSFT and Sony have to test the game first.

Personally, I like what NRS did with MK, gamers should quit whining about companies trying to improve their games.

What I don't like is when they revise and you have to buy a new game each time Arc-style though, that will choke off a game (see BBCSEX)

Apparently Frank said it's been sent for verification. Since It usually takes a month or so tops, i'm guessing a June 5th/6th release for PSN and xbl respectively.

Demos for download games as far as I know always debut the same time as the full release.
