There are a few videos of Final Showdown fights that used music from the original Virtua Fighter. I'm not sure if it's item-related, but perhaps this will port to the console version?

I'm quite partial to the 5R Temple theme, myself.

You had to press certain button combinations while the match was loading to get different music, I think?

You could get tracks from all the previous games (though only certain characters got their VF4 Evo tracks, I think). And in VF5FS you could still get the VF5 Vanilla and R tracks.

Really hoping this feature makes it into the console version, as I prefer a lot of the R tracks to the FS stuff, Wolf's being a prime example as already mentioned. Pai's track is another example.

There is an option to select music from different VF games in the console version (Westtrade's Post)

Whether the different button combination pressing to get different music is present in the console version (as in VF5FS and VF5R) is not known.

    FAQ post updated.

Updated the FAQ with the latest tidbits including VFTV Episode 19 (Aion Translation), Famitsu Interview (Reno's translation), and Pax East (Shidosha's Stream).

Edit: And also from South Town Arcade 1.2 stream.

The game definitely does not have a quest mode, but will have a license mode / sparring mode (information scant at the moment) for single player options.

Does the rank-system change in VF5FS? I mean is it exactly how VF5? [IMG]

It is unclear what the rank-system will be for the console version; however, original VF5, VF5R, and VF5FS each had thier own unique rank system. In VF5FS arcade game, it is relatively difficult to reach and maintain the highest rank. The last I heard, only Itoshun (BR, late 2011) and Joseph (AK, last month) has the highest rank since VF5FS was released (Tenshoujin - "Soaring Sky God")

I hope that the vocaloid dolls are in the console version, because the win pose which they sing is cool [IMG]

i don't blame you i felt like that for a while myself. i mean we don't know how the new replacement is going to work, at least quest mode was a time killer just doing tons of fights in a roll collecting items and icons and whatnot. but i'm still going to buy VF5fs mostly due to loving the game itself, yeah i'm said one of my favortive modes ins't there but i want to see what their going to do with the game. so i'm getting this day one.

Updated FAQ again with information from the recent interview of Frank Hom by Shidosha and Reno's Translation of Famitsu Interview of Murayama and Egami:

    Main updates:

It was mentioned that the FS console game plus all the DLC items together will not cost more than a disc-based game (Ref #8).

Based on the Famitsu interview (~600 to ~900 items total per character, Ref #6) and Beyond Gaming interview (~400 to ~700 DLC items per character, Ref #8), one can likely assume there will be ~200 items per character already within the game.

Sozos - Assuming what Frank say is correct and the Famitsu translation is also correct, yes you can expect to have ~200 customizable items for each character within the game (not DLC items). Remember, that number likely includes color swaps/patterns of default items that come with the 6 costume types (A, B, C, D, E, and S).
