I'm pretty sure something can be unlocked in license mode perhaps...

 

Yea see i prefer to unlock all my items the hard way instead of just buying them because if they are unlockable in the game, then I don't see any point in buying them... The DLC packs are for people want to get ahead and jump head first into online, no offense to anyone though...

It is listed in the article the mentioning of a complete edition.

 

The DLC packs are just that, "DownLoadable Content". If you don't have the DLC, you won't get any additional items. Period. You also won't be able to see custom costumes online without having the DLC. Its not a matter of "unlocking". You won't have the data on your console.

There's a difference between DLC and "unlocks" and "shortcuts". This is true DLC. Make no mistake.

i was gonna wait until the end of the week to buy this one, but now that i know there's a Complete Edition for a discount, i'm buying it as soon as i get home.

 

Nice! So I'll buy the CE (roundabout 25€) instead of using the PS+ membership and the 20% discount for the DLCs (roundabout 20€). 5€ isn't that bad for the possibility of playing the game without PS+

Just to add to the FAQ, the ps3 version does allow custom music from the xmb. And if you're playing in an offline mode you can continue your background downloads.

bought the complete edition today, still downloading the game. gonna download all the DLC during work tomorrow. i'm so friggin' pumped!!!
