Or it could be because people like me just leave it on idle all the time. Saves time when I want to go back. Right now, it is sitting there idle while I rest my fingers from getting used to this stick. The VSHG is so so SOOO sensitive. When people said it makes you play precise, that was no joke. I'm sure just getting used to the precision in movements will make me that much better a player than if I stuck with pad where my movements are very loose/dramatic, but they usually hit anyway.

First time with a JP stick? VSHG is no different than any other stick fitted with Sanwa buttons and stick. If it is, enjoy it, but it may take a bit to get use to.

I don't have a 360 and have a ps3 and vf5 .I will get a 360 soon but the main problem holding me back is the controller. I am a pad user.

I can already tell the controller be my main problem with 360 as i felt the 360 pad over a friends house and it feels absolutely horrible.

I was thinking maybe sanding will help but feel it wont be enough.(need someone to tell me if sanding actually helps alot).

My 2nd option was to get a 3rd party controller with a decent d-pad

The third option is the unbelievable option but i may have to do it. Is to get the famous hori stick and adjust to joystick controls. Joystick is not that bad it just that i can't run or dash properly with it due to sensitivity of joystick.

Also pad users, I am in the same dilemma as you guys. Especially those adjusted to ps2/ps3 pad.

Sanding the controller definitely solves the problem with the D-Pad; though, I'd always prefer to play Virtua Fighter with an Arcade Stick (no matter on which platform).

For me, it's the placement of the D-pad that makes it uncomfortable. My thumb hurts after having it at such an angle for a while.

I just can't do b,f motions on the pad and a lot of akira's stuff other than that it's alright for me.

I'm not have trouble with the Hori stick at all. i think it may be because the feel of the stick reminds me of the old Neo Geo sticks, which I grew up using, so I feel right at home. Being an Akira player, I have yet to miss a beat. the 360 pad, however, isnt terrible as I've had some good rounds messing with DOA4, but i havent tried it with VF. By the time the demo came out I had already bought the stick for Fatal Fury Special on live.
