    Has anyone of those with access to the NXE actually compared loading times for Virtua Fighter 5 matches with and without HDD install?

    Yeah faceless did in #vfhome. It shaved no more than a second of the load times. However the initial loading time from boot was speeded up.

    Startup: DVD = 32 Seconds, HDD = 24 Seconds
    Eileen vs El Blaze on Statues
    DVD = 17 Seconds, HDD = 18 Seconds
    Lei Fei vs Goh on Waterfall
    DVD = 15 Seconds, HDD = 15 Seconds
    Shun Di vs Wolf on Great Wall
    DVD = 19 Seconds, HDD = 16 Seconds

    In one case the dvd was actually faster too..

    Nice that faceless tested it. Seems that AM-2 has already optimized loading times (as expected) for their arcade fighter.

    One more question, even using the basic member(one DVD at home), can I also watch the streaming?

    If I remember correctly you have to at least subscribe to the unlimited rentals during the month (it being one or two at a time).

    Thanks for the information~~
    XBL is not XBL at all on 19th!!!

    Does anyone know the exactly time for the update??
    Coz I receive the email from XBOX Taiwan and it said the update is on 19th(Asia time), so I'm just curious that if it's possible that I can update my console through my Asia account one day before 19th here(USA)??

    I try to find the sauce for you. I can't remember at the moment. I love that Avatar. Is freaking perfect because I'm going to start using Sarah and Jacky as my Main in R. So the Avatar makes sense to me. And She Rocks!

    On topic, I'm really looking forward to the final product of the NXE. The Netflix option is great, but what happens to the MS movie Marketplace? Will it eventually become just Netfilx? I know the other will be just Sub, And MS has the option just renting out what you want without having a sub(XBLG doesn't count) I'm just curious were this will evolved to.

    Can you share a NetFlix account between 2 XBL acounts? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. I don't have a NetFlix account at the moment, but being able to use it with 1-2 or even 3(limit) accounts would be awesome. I plan on getting another 360 at some point and would hate to have to keep swapping HDD's from living room to bedroom or vice versa just to take advantage of my NetFlix account.

    All in all I can't wait till Wednesday! The NXE looks like it will be so dope!

    I think you could. Your Netflix account is different from your LIVE account. So, I shouldn't see the problem. Unless MS, somehow ties it to your LIVE account when you login in with that specific profile on your 360. I'll find out.

    So this is how Netflix works on XBL

    1) You select the Netflix icon in the Video area of the NXE and install the software.
    2) You will be given a code to input onto your Netflix account.
    3) go to your computer and go to http://www.netflix.com/activate
    4) Enter the code and your now ready to go
    5) You HAVE TO use the Netflix website in order put movies in your queue. Once they are entered it will show up on your 360

    Tips on how to easily find HD content:
    -Watch Instantly Tab > Genres > HD

    Keep in mind that most of the content is for old movies and shows ONLY.
    The reason to keep the Xbox Marketplace is that you can PPV the newer movies.
    but if your bored and you want to quickly watch a movie or show Netflix on 360 rocks.

    Yesterday I watched Once Upon a time in China, Drunken Master 1 and 2. I didnt watch the entire thing I just watched the fighting scenes that I liked.

    Here is a video:

    Yeah this is exactly why I want to know, because MS is famous for doing gay shit like this.

    Please let me know about anything you find out.

    Actually netflix streaming works on OSX now too. You need Microsoft Silverlight which is a free download. Works great, and I'm 99% certain that it will also work with the new NXE for the 360.

    Hulu is also cool...

    So I signed up for NetFlix's free trial just to see what the hype is all about and I have to say I'm not impressed. First off the vid selections you are allowed to stream from Xbox/PC totally sucks in my opinion. Anyone know how long things such as new releases take before they can be queued for Xbox/PC streaming?

    Also the quality of the videos is absolutely horrible. It says it's doing a bandwith scan to determine the quality of the vid, but what I got just blew me away. I'm on a 20MB downstream and a 5MB upstream so I was really amazed how poor the video quality turned out for selecting a HD movie. I will admit I was running things using a wireless connection for my Xbox360 and haven't tested things wired, but I don't think the results will be any better.

    Anyone else experiencing similar results? What are your thoughts on the streaming contents that's available?

    Depending on the wireless standard you're using then it can have a huge difference. The wireless standard you're probably using is either 802.11a, 802.11b, or 802.11g. The main difference in these standards is the maximum throughput/speeds they support. Streaming video has a high demand on throughput.

    So what standard does your wireless router support?

    It may be labelled with something like Wireless-G (which is the 802.11g standard). Hopefully you're not on the much older "B" standard. The best wireless standard for streaming performance today is the "N" (802.11n), but I don't think the official Xbox wireless adapter supports "N" -- only a, b and g.

    Are you kidding? wireless sucks. Especially for VF play.

    Ps. If the service is free, I would expect something youtube quality anyway..

    Thanks for the info Myke, I'll take a look at the router tonight or tomorrow to get the details. I knew being on wireless can definitely give you slower speeds, but I had no idea about all these different types of standards. I just thought everything was "B" or "G" at this point and the speeds only differed slightly. This new piece of information you gave me has definitely convinced me that I will be just running a very long hidden Ethernet cable to my bedroom and dropping the whole wireless thing. This kind of sucks because I just recently bought that damn $100 adapter when I could have just spent like $10-15 bucks on a 50FT Ethernet cord. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif Oh well you live and learn and I guess having the adapter isn't all that bad. I'm sure there will be cases where I will make use of it when I might decide to take my 360 on a trip or something.

    Thanks again for the info!

    Wireless or wired, it doesn't matter(Unless is not "G") The current XBOXLIVE marketplace will do for me. Netflix streaming is early on the 360 right now, so give it time.

    EDIT- Myke is right, and Konjou, yours is "G"
