Still can't figure out how this is the development version, as AM2 doesn't really travel. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif I know what they mean though.

As for the computer setting -- they're all set to balls hard... and that's probably the normal setting.

Hehe -- white people is my general all-around racial slang for foreigners in Japan. Racism is so institutionalized and 'factual' instead of traditional hate-based racism we're used to in the states. I've just decided to go along with the crowd.

There is one other gaijin here that's quite good. My friends were like, "Uh-oh! Battle of the Gaijin's!" when I played against him. Funny. I'm getting sick of everyone saying I look like Brad though... but I guess I've said that about people of other races once or twice in my life.

Don't you try to enlighten them, explain to them that their views are ignorant. Which you find annoying/offensive, and probably others would if they travelled abroad. institutionalised racism is disgusting. (Just like that TV programme thread a while back...)

Finally went and played some evo again this weekend and tried out some of the new moves mentioned here.

    Jacky:

Jacky's df+P+K, P+G hit throw is BOSS! He punches you in the gut and then grabs your face and pushes you to the floor. Does a cool taunt afterwards also, "Come on!" Move is kinda slow. Usage would be similiar to that of SPoD as damage is pretty good to make it worth while. That and the psychological impact. heh.

his db+P+K.,P,P,(P?),K string looks gauranteed on counter, but the oppponent can tech roll and hit you out of the long ass auto taunt after the last hit. Looks stupid, stands with arms and legs stretched apart and dances. Stupidest looking taunt he's got.

Speaking of tuants, he no longer does anything after flash kick. That's good, but I wonder if there is some way to do it manually. I like the nose wipe. ha ha.

b+K is a knee, doesn't seem very useful.

iageri (sp?) is hard to do now. Either they made the window smaller or you can't do it depending on how long you delay the K out of shuffle step. Or the timing changes. Hard to say. I would use that move a lot in 4 and got it like 100%, so I'm not liking the change.

    No more double low kicks.

Side kick looks different and slower (LOOKS slower). Reach might be less also. I only realized it was changed when I tried to back stagger someone. Timing might have been off, but it missed. No double side kick either.

f,f+K looks weird as hell. Looks like a high kick. Strange animation. I guess it's safer that the old ffK was though.

Don't like the new f+K. That better give mad advantage on normal hit to compensate.

f,f+P+G throw is a 3 hit punch combination. People will have to start worrying about escaping forward now. Does okay damage, but will be used more than the old take down since Jacky doesn't end up down with the opponent.

u+K+G is a really slow circular mid (i think) jump kick. I tried to use this to go over low attacks, but it's too slow. You have to really know the rising kick is low and then do the move before it even starts to come out. Might give good advantage on block.

df+P,P,P has a new animation, but still works the same. All combos on counter and gauranteed pounce afterwards.

    Kage:

From crouch chop is gone! WHY!? WHHHHYYYYY!!?!! Anyway, it's replaced with this weak upper attack that only floats on counter I think. And the float is so low you can only hit with d+P+K or low hitting attacks. Trying to combo a standing punch after it whiffs or might be stance dependent.

Jumanji PKK. The timing is hard for the 2nd K?? I would just mash on K and sometimes it wouldn't come out... huh?

Jumanji mid kick reversal window seems shorter. More strict timing needed to catch mid kicks?

That new K+G etc move is weird. Looks throw counterable if blocked. Not sure if it's delayable. Can't really comment.

He had back turned P+K+G which does a back flip that is used to go over the enemy and behind him. It's like a backwards moonsault and Kage is facing enemy's back afterwards. You can hold p+k+g to go into jumanji, but as cool as the move is, you don't really recover fast enough to capitalize on the back turned enemy. Feels like you are even forced to block turn towards attacks. Need to experiment more with this. Works great on downed opponent after ff+K cancel.

Did I mentioned his chop is gone and was replaced with a complete ass move? ARGHHHHHHH!

Old TFT combos don't seem to work sometimes. Especially on heavies. I used to just do knee, p, p, f+K+G, d+K on everyone, but it doesn't seem to hit anymore on everyone. I might just be screwing it up though. Not sure if the damage thing for the low hitting flash kick (after combos like knee, d+P+K, db+PKG, flash kick) is still in either. I couldn't get it to work no matter how late I hit with it. At least I don't think so.

    Akira:

Used him the least. His knee looks different, sort of does it in place while standing, floats real high though.

fc,f+P, f+P hard to time or something, but looks like it all connects on normal hit. Either that or it hit on counter everytime. hard to tell.

throw combos still work after the catch and stumble. Looks like he even gets b,df+P+G, super dash elbow, double palm for free now. Peeps I played couldn't get out of the super dash elbow. So that's a nice addition to his throw game, although df+P+G, df+P probably does just as much. /versus/images/icons/tongue.gif

f+P,b is a nice fake step. Sets up float moves or SPoD perfectly since counter attacks tend to whiff afterwards. Good guessing game opportunity I guess even on block.

New move df+P+K+G, or d can't remember. Lifts both hands upwards, might be a gaurd break or counter of some sort. Couldn't figure out its use.

He has a sort of shuffle step backwards, db+P+K+G, and can do P (elbow) or P+K some kind of sabaki move that does not actually hit as an attack. Not sure on either of these or if there are other moves.

K+G, P move looks like a DOA gen fu attack. Good float option i guess.

The DLC and then d or u P+K move has Akira turn his back to the opponent. I tried experimenting with it and got reamed. Can't tell what it's used for. Seems to have special back turned moves out of it. Might be a special stance actually.

Bleh, from what I can see, Akira players will be using him exactly the same. Those new moves seem to be completely for show.

Hey, Harold...next time you're out there, can you verify whether or not they increased the float on the Yoho as well?

VF has been kinda slow around here lately, so hopefully we'll get something together and visit sometime in september or october.
