I've begun adding the VF4 Evolution Command Lists to the VF4 Character Sections. Until the official data is released, the data shown on the lists (damage, reversal, notes, etc) are from Version C.

New moves have their names shown in red.
Revised moves (i.e. change in properties and/or command) have their names shown in blue.

All Characters Updated:

Akira | Aoi | Brad | Goh | Jacky | Jeffry | Kage | Lau | Lei | Lion | Pai | Sarah | Shun | Vanessa | Wolf

The new Evo characters, Brad and Goh, already have their Command Lists available. See the previous News headline for details.

AOI:

Gotcha on the [P][K]. I need to check if [P][P][K] is the same, as I assume it is (non half-circular). (I get flashbacks of Raising Arizona when I say that).

[4][3][P] on MC is a normal stagger (standing). Just gives some extra frames -- no massive follow up. Same as [3][K] if I'm not mistaken.

Sorry about the 'standing' terminology. Just going off of common sense. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

[2][3][6][P]+[K] DOES in fact sabaki mid punches. I sabaki'ed Lion's [3][P][P] today. Still don't know about elbows. Definitely no kicks or knees.

In all honesty, Shun's [4][P]+[K] is an a class of it's own.
It was first explained to me as an Inashi to be honest.
Here's the scenario:

It's really a normal attack. Imagine the animation of [K]+[G], but linear, using a hand, and remaining a little open.
on MC (and maybe even hit) it stomach crumbles. Same follow ups as [2_][3][P](MC) apply.

If he catches a punch/eblow (mid/high) he goes into the throw. There is NO scratching sound, nor the animation of the opponent pulling their hand back. -- So how is that a sabaki?

Call it whatever name you want - it's a normal attack that goes into an auto-throw when it catches a high or mid punch or elbow. Can't even call it a hit-throw. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

[4][K]'s animation has definitely changed, and he DEFINITELY doesn't go down, although it is DP-1. The full command is actually [4][K][P] or [4][K][K]. All are DP-1, but only [4][K][K] finishes down (on the stomach), which also does a foot stagger (like Wolf's) on hit. Both are easily dodged though, so I don't do it so much.

(Drunken Stance)[2] or [8] is different from the drunken walk, definitely. It's a dodge, with pretty bad recovery. Only good for dodging someone that's going to do one big blow, like Akira. It definitely recovers back in the Drunken Stance. You could do it in a full circle around the arena if you wanted to. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

[P][P][4][P] was an update to Lion's list -- it's still there... in the JPN version at least. There was a post that said it was gone.

We could call it a striking reversal /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif
Anyway Ryo had a move like this in Fatal Fury Wild Ambition, it was a punch that reversed punches.

Regarding Sarah:

[6][K]+[G] (Spin Heel Sword) should be classed as a MK.

[9][K]+[G] (Near/Far) (Venom Smash) should be classed as a HK.

Notes on Goh's moves

[4][6]+[P] -- causes "Flop" similar to Akira's [4][6]+[P]
[4]+[P] -- forces crouch
[1]+[K] -- causes "Shin Crush" similar to Aoi's [1]+[P]
[6]+[K] -- has the same properties as wolf's knee (i.e. a weird kind of gut stagger on hit that is much worse on MC. Not quite a KD-stomach hit though)
[P]+[K] -- is a high punch sabaki (you just have sabaki listed)
[6]+[P]+[K] -- salms when it hits airborne opponents
[6][6]+[P]+[K] -- causes stomach crumple (KD) on MC
[3]+[P]+[K] -- is also an elbow sabaki
[2_][6]+[P]+[K] -- makes the opponent stumble (like jakcy's punt in straight-up VF4)
[4][3]+[P]+[K] -- is a low punch sabaki
[K]+[G][P] -- causes stomach crumple on hit (any hit)

good work on the lists Myke!

Minor Update

In the interests of saving the trees, and getting a particular New Yorker off my back, I've now added a condensed view option to all command lists on VFDC. The layout for this new view lists the commands in two columns, and only shows Name, Command, Damage and Hit Level. It prints nicely in half the amount of pages, and is ideal for handing out to new players at the arcade.

[2][3][6][P]+[K] - Crumbles on Sabaki. I believe it only sabaki's high & mid punches (no elbows)

This move (shinchuuzuki) sabakis elbows, too. I've seen it in a few Aoi vs. Akira clips. The most recent example can be seen on one of the ShinZ (Aoi) vs. Moonsuk (Akira) clips, which are available on the TBZone server, ftp://210.106.27.131:2100/.

i noticed something in the Pai command list. None of her new low throws do damage? I swear there are 2 that hit you in the back of the head... am i missing something?

Yes they do damage. When I put the evo movelists together, damage for the new evo moves were not available at the time, and that's why you see them as blank.

Anyway, I'm working on a major update to the movelists over the coming week. Bare with me.

ah, ok, no problem. I just got a copy of Evo, so I was playing through her command list. Since I don't understand Japanese, I couldn't figure out how to turn on the damage count in command training...so I just looked it up. Looking forward to the command list, Myke. I'm sure it will be very complete as usual.
