Thanks for this Digtl I looked back to some of the earliest vids on me on youtube channel and was laughing my ass off at how "good" I was back then. Keeps me motivated to look at the recent vids compared to the old one to see how much i improve.

All of these are pure art.

I also notice how much better this game looks on youtube when it isn't upscaled to 1080p, as compared to on a 1080p tv, where there is no way to avoid upscaling. Unless someone knows a way?

I'm pretty sure VF5 runs in 720p regardless. I play it on a 1080p TV and it doesn't get scaled up. If your TV scales it up to 1080p I guess you could change your console's display settings, but games that are in 1080p won't look quite right.

So you mean that your VF5 runs with the 720p image in the middle and black borders around it? Which tv do you have?

No black borders; it's full screen and 720p. I have a Sharp Aquos LED TV. The TV is 1080p, but games, movies, etc. are displayed in their native resolutions. That might be because my 360's video setting is set to "source" though.

Well, if you have full screen with a 720p source on a 1080p screen, the source is being upscaled (by your tv). That's the definition of upscaling :) I'm looking for a way to avoid that, investigations seem to suggest it's not possible with most tv's.

But the display info says it's being displayed in 720p.

Yes I know, it denotes the resolution of the incoming signal (720p). However, when the full screen of the 1080p tv is being utilized, the output is, by definition, 1080p. So in this case your tv auto-upscales the incoming 720p signal to a 1080p signal. If the tv would not auto-uspcale the 720p signal, there would be black borders (which is what I want ! :D)

I see. I didn't know that, but just out of curiosity, why do you want black borders? To each his own, I'm just curious.

Because whenever upscaling occurs, be it by your tv or by your PS3/XBOX, the image gets stretched out, and thus, uglier. I'd rather have a smaller, 1-on1 pixel mapped image with black borders around it, than a larger, stretched-out image.

I love to watch these, but I have a request: can you turn off the background music? That way we can choose to listen to our own music while watching these...

I'd rather not unless it's for sound quality reasons. Can't you just turn the volume down and listen to your own music instead?
