Hey guys, sorry for the late reply, I have been busy the past week and was also celebrating my b-day last weekend. Anyway, I had a great time, enjoyed playing against you guys and learned some more things about vf.

KneeNinja: thx for coming over at my place and good to hear you had a great time. You were the one I had the most trouble with because your basics are very good. I was the most impressed with your Akira and Jacky. Hopefully when you actually pick up VF5, you will beast on people. Also thx for the pic and the awesome comment on it, you had described my thoughts exactly when that picture was shot :p

MikeLeRoi: had some fun matches against your Wolf as always. This time you could play on Namco sticks and I saw the difference immediately, Namco sticks ftw!

NGKrush: This time we didn't play eachother as much as we do normally. You are right though, we should play eachother more on meetings because we don't meet so much in between as we used to do. Great Jeffry as always and I saw that you almost never used 2P now and tried to evade more, thats an improvement by itself.

Spoon: We had some fun matches, sorry I had to snatch all those prize battles with Lei Fei from you, I'm just a greedy bastard. Nice Aoi, try to evade more, less 2P spamming, and mix your attacks a little better. We will probably see a lot of improvement from you if you have the 360 version though.

Vortigar: I played quite a lot matches against you, your Vanessa is good, but I think you play better with Brad. I can see you are thinking about too much stuff with Vanessa and thats hurting your game, you need to focus on some moves first and work from there. With Brad though, you had less anxiety in you and you were playing more relaxed. Try to work on your stick inputs and maybe a suggestion to replace Vanessa with Brad as main.

Ogi: As always, hella annoying Kage and very beastly, but your Goh was off the hook too this time! Had some fun matches against you, also had some fun moments and thx for telling me some VF stuff I didn't knew. Thx for the pics also and I hope you have a lot of fun in Japan and if you come back, you can school us with your super saiyan tactics.

Ok guys, this is the end of my babbling, see you guys next time!!!

P.S. there's gonna be a VF5 tournament on the 19th of Oktober in Krommenie-Assendelft, if anyone is interested, tell me and I will sign you up.

Hey guys, I finally got a place now, living in Haarlem now. If someone wants to play some games we can meet up. I'm a bit poor atm so I can't travel myself, all I can do is invite you over if you want to play some games too.

    And now it's Haarlem?
"En zo is het ook met woonplaatsen, er is altijd wel een betere."
    Sheesh...
Well, at least its an excuse to visit that place again.

I'm definately not making a surprise entrance next Friday, as I'm actualy busy at work for the first time in, oh say, a year!

Instead of doing jack all between meetings, I've been bending my brain around Brad for a bit and trying to work on some very very basic fighting game stuff like keeping your eye on the ball and rethinking your game when your recent approach isn't working. Hard stuff to work myself into as you've gotta somehow change thought patterns. For once, messing around against the AI might actually help.

    Aside:
Having gotten my head broken in 3s half a year ago wasn't funny. So as a distraction I've tracked down an emulator and am now playing that game on keyboard /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif I need excorsising. Didn't take me long to decide Q was my (noob) weapon of choice, never thought turtling to victory could be fun.

I'm also mucking around in HS and Oblivion but that's really off-track.

yeah, been looking for a place for a while, found it in haarlem. it's a nice town, for the short time i've been here, friendly people.

nice to hear you've done some training, looking forward to see it in your game, are you sticking with all 3 of your characters still?
haha good luck with third strike, q is a very hard character to be good with, but he can do enormous damage, great character, check out alex, i have the feeling he might be up your street too!

3S is going on a strictly casual basis (timing parries is good hand/eye training for any fighting game though). Next time when the game comes up maybe I won't just fall down and die like last time. I don't know who I've got to 'thank' for getting me to choose 12 that time though... (I love watching Yamazaki go to town with the mutating bugger on Youtube, but I've given up on trying to play him myself.)

    back to VF:
I've dropped everyone for Brad now. With possibly Goh as a back-up, but I haven't touched him in three months. Vane really was too much of a hassle, however much I like her design and moves the way you have to play with her just didn't align with me properly, I was relying way too much on a few cute tricks and in the end that just doesn't cut it.

    But really:
Did that tournament go through last Friday? And how did it go?

tournament was cancelled except for tekken5, not enough people. it was a shame. i couldn't make it because i had to work in the end, sofiane did go but i'm not sure what the results where. check the dutch thread on tekkenzaibatsu.

that might be a good idea on your character choices, maybe it will help you with the execution stress (if thats still a problem) by focussing more on less characters, botth brad and vanessa count for 2 with the amount of moves they have :p

had a little meet up with spoon this saturday, we had some nice games, i think he improved quite a bit throughout the day doing less basics mistakes like unsafe moves at the end of the rounds or wakeupkicks. at the beginning of the day i won a lot of games due to that but at the end i was struggling quite a big, not trying to get reversed out of anything. pai's [2]6p ch launcher seems irriversable? if that's true I'm sticking with her /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

vf5 is suppose to be released on the 360 this week, so i'm really looking forward to seeing him get even better now as he can practise a whole lot more.

    hey guys,

too bad the VF tournament was cancelled! but it was also a bit awkward for most peeps. anyway nice to see you (NGKrush) have found a new place. hope you do have tv this time to play games on /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Haarlem is a bit out of my way, but maybe we could meet sometime soon! because it has been a while since i played against some excellent players.

p.s. wasn't aoi supposed to be able to counter any move? even double-handed moves such as [2]6p?

hey ake, nice to hear from you! yeah, really happy with my new place, maybe this time we should go more into your direction for a meeting as spoon and vortigar live closer to you, if you want to organise something (any of you) just say n advance so we can check our schedules! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

as for aoi, i think it depends on the reversal, i remember one of her reversals being able to reverse jeffs 43PP two handed hammersmash move but the other could not. i think spoon should give us the heads up on this /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Aoi's stance can't reverse 2 handed attacks, her normal reversals can. When I think back about it, I think the problem was more with me trying to reverse the [2]6p after I was hit with a low punch.

Thanks for the kind words though, I felt like I was doing pretty crappy the whole day. I just can't wait for the 360 VF5, then i'll lose one of my last excuses :p

    Vortigar Well-Known Member

Ah, you used YY-stance... The results of that stance aren't called reversals, they're inashi's (because it results in advantage instead of damage+knockdown). So when talking about Aoi being able to reverse every move possibly they're referring specifically to 4p+k, 1p+k and 2p+k.

    Aside:
Got totally pwned by the AI last night...
    I suck.
