I played loads of casual matches against two guys with very little experience with VF5. Had me seriously rethinking my options at points and forced me to play aggresively, which was a nice change for my Goh who was previously always stuck in his defensive patterns from evo (had a long winning streak at one point of tossing Akira around and sabaki-ing almost every single yoho and elbow thrown my way, which felt great).

I've also rediscovered Vanessa over the weekend after sticking most of my time in Goh lately (though I now realise I have forgotten to utilize some pretty essential moves with her) and can't wait to get in the ring with her again to wreak OS string mixup havoc.

Out of the VF5 meetings I've had this is the one that has made me reinvent my game the most, even though I didn't play nearly as much as the previous times.

Sofiane himself was a bit busy with trying to keep his house from falling apart what with some ten people running around everywhere. At least two matches next time Sof!

    ps.
Watching Sean kick Ken's arse was funny as heck. And before I forget:

it was a nicew weekend, had some good games vs spoon(getting better all the time!) and not enough vs vortigar, i'm sorry, i was burned out when you asked me to play, next time we'll have to sit down more seriously, didn't get enough practise in before the meeting because of hand cramps the whole week, so next time i'll be prepared better too.
akebueno surpised me with some wacky shun, too bad you had to leave; hope to play you again sometime soon dude! tnx to everyone for the nice weekend.

we didn't record anything this time, i thought it would be cool if we could do a small tournament next meet, it'd maybe be more interesting to record.

    Keh!

I haven't fought that AI Goh yet. Got no one with a rank high enough to reach him. So I've no idea what he looks like.

Yeah, I play too little, I know...

you're in the route 101 arcade, i thought it didn't matter what rank you where, you could just fight anybody, just keep exit/entering untill you see the character you want to fight against.

I'm on vacation for three weeks from this weekend on in.

So unless some calamity forces me out of my routine of 'tent -> beach -> watering hole' I won't be able to make it.

Re: VF in Belgium and The Nederlands

hey everyone had a great time this weekend!
had a lot of good matches, saw a lot too. it was nice to finally meet ogi and darwin, hope we can play again soon!

saw both ake and spoon had improved a lot, very impressed.
at some times the game looked like doa, how many reversals spoon connected, haha. sof learnt brad so quickly too, looking forward to seeing how it improves, knowing sof if he gets started on training he improves so fast. ogis kage was a beast(and his goh a pimp, haha)! and darwins pai was really nice to look at, never knew you could play her with those types of setupsituations, bohuko got pretty scary!, gonna steal some of your stuff if you don't mind :). reaver: less talk more action dude! you know a lot of stuff about the game already, but i need to see some results before i can believe your tactics are as good as you say, you played better than last time though.

thanks sof for hosting and ake, i still owe you gasmoney! i'll give it to you next time!

fristly, nice to finally met u all! good matches guys! i really enjoyed all the matches we played during the weekend!

ok here is a mini report from last meeting... im too lazy to post this, but sof forced me to post this shitooo, lolol.

firstly i want to thx sof(the host) and dar(auto).

everyone played good imo. tournament matches were fuking dry and dirty, but we sure had a lot of fun. arent we? lol.

Sof's brad owned me hard during tournament, no excuses.(/me bows). ngkrush has a bad ass jeffry, lp throw didnt work on him, a lot of good mix ups and knows when to use jeffry's knee and catch throw, good stuff. akebueno, very strange shun, it can makes ur opp really go mad quick and frustrated, lol. back dash x n, drinks when ever it can, and never techrolls(to slowdown the match), rofl! just need work on ur defense thats all. mike le roi, really cool dude, friendly, won against me during the tournament. reaver: less talk more action.(like ngkrush said lol). christiaan(aka spoon): solid aoi(didnt miss much combos from what i saw), good use of aoi's reversal and grond throw, just need to play more to get beter. dar: played good over all, didnt do so well during the team tournament though... too nervous? lol. dar needs use more pai's dmging throw(hcp+g) and stop spamming her full cir moves. last thing, sorry about the fengwei scroll sof lol.

Here is the single tournament report: (8 pplz playing eachother, who has most wins, who wins)

    1ste: Sofiane(BR) 7wins
    2nd: NGkrush(JE), Darwin(PA), Ogi(KA) 4wins
    3rd: Akebueno(SH), Mike re loi(WO) 3wins
    4th: Reaver(AK) 2wins
    5th: Spoon(AO) 1wins

no excuses(cuz i was using kagay), me suxed during the tournamnet, too much pressure(it seems everyone wanted me to lose, the kagay hate lolol) and too nervous, lol. congratulate to sof for winning the tournament!

    Team tournament: 4 on 4

    Reaver(AK) x - o Spoon(AO)
    Mike re loi(WO) o - x Spoon(AO)
    Mike re loi(WO) o - x Akebueno(SH)
    Mike re loi(WO) x - o NGkrush(JE)
    Darwin(PA) x - o NGkrush(JE)
    Ogi(KA) o - x NGkrush(JE)
    Ogi(KA) o - x Sofiane(BR)

Re: VF in Belgium and The Nederlands

Guys, it was fun to have you at my place, the meeting was very nice with a lot of diversity in characters which I like.

Akebueno: We finally played each other, last time I was too busy playing other games. Your Shun was fun to play against, I really had to put pressure on you or you would be drinking too much and a drunken Shun is hard to fight against. Only thing you should do less is 2+p a lot when you're being pressured too much. Best characters of you were: Shun, Eileen and Lei fei, you should try to focus on these characters only imho.

Spoon: You improved a lot too since last time we played. You are kind of an Akira killer it seems, you defeated Reaver in the team tournament and was overall beating both Reaver and my Akira more then the other way around. Try to cut down on the 2p as well since you were abusing it a little too much and that costed you quite a few matches.

Kabukicho: Nice Pai, playing against Ogi sempai improved you a lot and of course with your veteran skills as a fighting game player you mashed quite a few people's heads in. Nice to see some setups which came from TTT, hahahaha. Thx for bringing the sticks and bringing that little puppet guy with you.

Mike Leroi: Cool that you wanted to come after all and your Wolf was solid as well, but I knew that already. Hopefully you want to learn more of the game, so that we can form a good VF scene in NL and play more against each other.

Reaver: You played ok for someone who doesn't have the game, but you can throw a lot of your vf4evo theory out of the window since they don't work anymore in vf5 for the most of it. Had some nice games with you too, but try too cut down on those low punches when you're frustrated, cause thats when you lose.

NGKrush: You were on fire this weekend and busted a lot of heads in with Jeffry. I can't really think of a thing that you did wrong, only thing I can say is work on your defense and throw escapes, but everyone has to do that ,including myself. Iirc, we didn't play against each other a lot this weekend, but we play each other most often so that's cool anyway.

Ogi: last but not least, Ogi sempai!!! Had a lot of fun matches against you, your Kage is too much and your Goh improved a lot too. First few times we played, you blew me away but I learned a lot in between and came back a few times. I was kinda lucky to win from you in the single's tournament and got pwned in the team tournament. Next time try to keep my Feng scroll where it's at :p . Your best characters were: Kage, Goh and Jacky, in that order. Thx for bringing the stick and for bringing me the dvd with a lot of good vf stuff on it.

Oke, that was my input, I'm glad to know it was a succes and see you all next time!
