VF feels a little on the slow side

What we talking about here? VF is slower in terms of movement, the animations for the attacks or what?

Just watch the replays that come on the disc, it's definitely not slower than the games you mentioned. Soul Calibur, VF and DoA all feel similar to me in terms of speed but Tekken is hella slow, everything about it is slower than VF.

I'll tell you one thing. Fighting people who NEVER tech sure drags the game to a crawl.

One thing is for sure: in Dead Or Alive 4 a fight is over so fast if you so much as blink then you will have missed half of the fight. In Virtua Fighter 5 the fights feel a lot longer, but like I said, that is a good thing in my opinion. In DOA4 the fights are over way too fast, even if you set the characters health to largest.

Virtua Fighter 5 might not really be realistic, but it's a lot more realistic than any other fighter I have ever played. And I've played a lot of fighting games.

Maybe it's more to do with the damage of the moves than the speed of the game.

Ya I started my 3d fighters with soul calibur 2, and vf did seem slower for me. But then at work we played soul calibur 2, and it seemed to be slow after playing vf as well. Maybe I was just uber filled with adrenaline but w/e. Soul calibur is a little faster me thinks because they made the chars to be unrealistically fast, i.e. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif B (vertical attack i think they used the term B? i think it was a,b,k,g w/e) which made her do a crouching dash at the opponent followed by a really fast uppercut.
