1P is safe on block and you can hitscan the knockdown followup. What is bad about that?

funny thing is, jacky has more low attacks that give advantage on counter hit than any other character.

(if you meant normal hit, 2k+g is at disadvantage on normal hit. low attacks with advantage on normal hit are really rare; jacky does have one though)

He's got more true lows than all but 5 other characters. He's got more half/circular lows than all but 4 other characters.

I use a lot of spacing when I'm facing a Jacky player, and use his back walkings against him.

Can you elaborate as to _how_ you use his backwalking against him?

5 of his 7 half circular lows are strings not direct lows. I think its misleading how you represent that data.

Jacky has 5 direct down attacks, 2 of which are half circular.

I don't see how this suddenly makes him have the advantage on low attacks. Not to mention most leave him at above -14 on guard.

Its by no means his best advantage to someone like Lei who has 22 lows and shun with 23. Jacky has his 1p but thats really it. The rest of his lows are strings using that punch or 2k.

An important note about Jacky's lows..1p is his only low (besides being backturned) where he actually avoids Highs. His other lows aren't that good simply because hes in standing position when he does them (2k for jacky is arguably the worst low in the game). As far as counter hit goes every character just about has an advantage when a low is counter hit (You cant always go by frames and theories for example Shun 2k is -6 on counter hit but its not bad simply cause he can still do another 2k while avoiding mids at that disadvantage)

Also I feel Lows are rated not by Damage (simply cause most do shit dmg anyway) but by speed. The faster the low the sneakier it is 1p is 20 it can be guarded on reaction if you are watching it however Ducking low is 16 its extremely near impossible to always block this move on reaction

Jacky also has /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif to avoid highs.

IMO, Goh has the worst /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif in the game. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif
Jacky's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif has much better reach.

I don't count 1k cause everyone has a move like that so if Jacky has it so does everyone else I'm talking about a move that unique to the character..also about 2k lol yea I guess you are right but I still think they both equally suck

Brad, Goh and Lei do not have a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif that avoids high attacks.

i usually guard and punish accordingly as for throw escapes against jacky input 4p+g, and 3p+g.i tend to crouch dash guard towards jacky to see if they will beat knuckle or use some kind of mid kick. i still struggle against flash kick mixups /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Okay now that we analyzed his lows to death suggestions against Jacky? I haven't
fought Denkai/Jerky/insert competent Jacky here with Lei so I can't elaborate that
deeply. My advice is for beating your average 1st Dan to Master Jacky.

Sorry, I was talking abstractly. What I meant was that against beginners, sometimes its best to just keep things simple and beat them without overthinking and getting to fancy.

In specifically jack vs lei id mention that practically all his kicks n punches can fall victim to a good (or a poor koko p lol) sabaki. I tend to fuzzy guard alot against jacky which allows me to duck under the high kicks and block the lows and save myself from his elbow

Hai p+k will never ever land on a competent jacky player. Unless you're mixing his moves like a god or setting up oki - don't bother.

Lei has poor defense against low attacks hence why some people feel jacky's 1p to be a bit threatening, but its biggest flaw is exe speed.

I'm late to the party so i won't reiterate what previous players have already mentioned, but allow me to say that characters with fast mids kill Jacky's 1p.

I think Lei is well suited to fight jacky, just not in a tit for tat picking battle. Lei needs to keep moving. Bright Jacky players tend to fight best when they have a good sence of defence to play "safe"...at least in my experience. In general, against Jack I tend to use slightly more punches from Hai shiki, interchanged with the evasive sweep from the doku stance close range...just to stay a bit safer and expose any bad habbits early on. Somewhat abusing quick evasive doku sweeps has been pretty rewarding against even pretty good jackys, though your at disadvantage if your caught (the story of lei's life right?..Do we care? No.) If you did your job right (and quick enough) you can prompt a hesitation or duck from the Doku close range. Then its up to you and how safe you feel you need to play. There obviously more to it, but thats one attack pattern tip I found usefull.
