If you're not gonna say anything helpful, why say anything at all? Just turns people off of the game when we come off high and mighty like that.

Though that sort of question would probably be served better in the thread concerning Vanessa's match-ups. How to beat other characters and what not.

Without knowing the specific moves that are plaguing you, I can only say not to fear lows. Just don't be afraid to try and anticipate them. If you're going to fear anything, fear mids. Thats usually where characters get their big damage. Many times lows are used to make people want to duck so they can eat a mid launcher or such...

Remember that Vanessa(DS) has /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif to help deal with low and high attacks!

Well out of the characters, Lion has the nastiest collection of lows along with mid-mixups. Theres no sure way of beating those, you just have to react or guess to the best of your ability mostly. Most of Lions lows (like sweeps, those that knock down) are heavily punishable by strong mids. Lions mids are usually not. Im not sure what Vanessa has to punish blocked sweeps other than low throw.. In theory, try to keep pressure on Lion and prevent him from playing his own game, because its going to increasingly difficult the more you allow him to use whatever move he desires. Sidekick, sidekick, shadow slicer.

Against Eileen, she doesnt have many good lows to speak of, so you need to just separate between mids and throws. Problem is that you get much less chance to interrupt her pressure. Try to duck what high attacks you can, and low punch. In DS, use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif to stop her punch-strings for example. Try to highpunch Eileen out of the jumping flip.

PS. Jeneric, that was kind of lame response..

pps. Sorry for going slightly offtopic

    more on eileen:

a lot of her bests moves are punches so try to catch those with your pak sao. Eileen should never feel safe throwing a punch you way. your 1P also is very good at shutting her down as it ducks under highs but still hits them so it's useful in preventing your opponent from getting too 10f jab happy when you're not feeling like using pak sao. Also don't forget about your own 6f 3p move which can get you out of some tight spots that you wouldn't be able to free yourself from otherwise.

really focus on your defense against her because if you're defense is better than your opponents you'll win out long as you don't get hit by anything too huge. She's pretty safe most of the time so you're not gonna get too much guaranteed dmg, but there'll be a decent amount of nitaku situations given to you such as after blocking eileens 66P, 66K, 6K which are pretty common good moves for her to use for closing distance.

    Awesome. Thanks everyone.

I played a series last night against a Jeffery and finally got used to pressuring someone as opposed to playing defensively. So I see what you mean by not letting Lion play his own game.
